You have to wonder about government
Jul 15th, 2010 by David Anderson
I have been amazed what I read in the papers over the past several weeks.
Kent County is raiding homes that have too many animals even if they are well cared for and there is no safety issue. Even one family is too much without a government license. That is a 4 pet limit even though a natural litter is around 6 so why not an 9 or 10 pet limit? It is big government finding an excuse to dictate what is going on in the home. If they can put an arbitrary number, why not zero? In my opinion, it should be based upon health and safety of people and animals, and impact on the surrounding neighborhood. Keep them from bothering me, and I don’t care. It just strikes me as odd that a dog that I know of that was victimized by dog fighting took months of complaints, but they sweep in and take well cared for pets that will what be killed for no reason. Am I the only one who finds it outrageous?
Getting romantic in your vehicle is now subject to full time enforcement with special optical tools to find you out. We do not want people exposing themselves in public. It is bad for children and public moral, but if it takes special optical devises to figure it out that is not my business. Stop that making out now, big brother is watching to see if that kiss crosses the line.
There are other areas that I wonder about. Kicking people out of their homes because they lost electricity not long ago because being on the streets is obviously better and less costly to tax payers than helping them find assistance. Homeless families are up. Common sense is down.
Why does government work so hard to be counter productive? Are there not important areas of enforcement?

Is this four pets in total. Cause I got four cats and one dog which would maybe put me over the limit?
I agree that setting up arbitary numbers like this is a recipe for disaster. Especially that FOUR total is severe. My four cats are hardly too many and plenty of folks have four dogs.
My husband tells me there was a guy that had SIXTY cats up that way and I must suppose that’s the sort there going after.
But setting the limit at FOUR?
Sheesh

It is time to RAID Pat Fish!!! Let’s lock her up and make sure she has a felony record. Just Playing with you Pat, but David offers up some nasty scenarios.
And I do think this is the point of David’s Post.
What if one has a cat and dog and then one rescues a group of 5 abandoned kittens? According to David these folks would be violating the law. Can we not simply say that some animal rescue folks are worthy of honor instead of fines???
Not according to certain liberals.
All of us animal lovers get it.
