Yacht Hypocriscy

Jul 24th, 2010 by Tennessee Walker

The Hallmark of  Liberals is their constant  hypocrisy. Keep in mind that before the ink is dry on a tax increase that liberals will be the first ones to find a way around any new or increased tax for themselves and buddies.  For Liberals Charity begins in someone else’s wallet.

Well we have yet another example in the case of the favorite American Veteran of Liberals  (So much a favorite they nominated him for president!!!) Yes one can be a veteran of the armed services and still gain liberal favor.  Of course one first has to slime and smear your fellow service members in a public display before Congress.

Once you disgrace your nation and its veterans, than you too can become a U.S. Senator!!! This is provided you find a liberal state in which to run and at least 2 rich women that you can giggolo your way into their money.

Ok I have given enough clues.  Our focus is the worst Presidential Candidate of any Party in my lifetime, the guy who by contrast can make an Al Gore sound bite interesting,  that zany regular guy, John Kerry.  (Can one get some brie for his Philly Cheesesteak?)

It seems, Kerry really doesn’t care about the State of Massachusetts (this is what liberals say if YOU as a conservative oppose higher taxes.) Kerry bought a really nice boat with Theresa’s Ketchup money.  Now if the sale had been recorded in  Massachusetts, It would have cost the Liberal Massachusetts Senator about $500,000 in sales tax.  But by buying and claiming Rhode Island as the home for his newest BIG BOY TOY Liberal Democrat John Kerry gets to avoid a huge Sales tax.

Kerry could have paid the sales tax by simply claiming the home base of Nantucket, where he has, I’m sorry where wife Theresa has, a summer home and where this boat spends most of its sailing time.  Did I say boat?  This watercraft is 76 feet long.  Some would call this a ship but most call it a yacht.

At any rate the Kerry folks say this is just one big misunderstanding and that Senator Lurch was not trying to avoid helping his home state and constituents.

Here is the lame excuse from the Kerry Ketchup yacht brigade.

“The senior senator’s chief of staff David Wade denied the old salt was berthing his boat out of state to avoid ponying up to the commonwealth.

“The boat was designed by and purchased from a company in Rhode Island, and it’s based in Newport at the Newport Shipyard for long-term maintenance, upkeep and charter purposes, not tax reasons,” Wade told the Track.

Oh I get it!!!  One can’t have maintenance at the Newport Shipyard and still pay the Massachusetts sales tax?  Where in the law is that proviso Mr. Wade?  One would think that as  a committed tax and spend liberal that Kerry would love to lead by example.  (Sort of like Al Gore leading by example with his reduced Carbon footprint.   NOT!!)  So Why is Kerry such a cheapskate?  Especially since he will only be spending Theresa’s Ketchup money?  I mean How many bottles of Heinz Ketchup will have to be sold to pay the Massachusetts Sales Tax?

Remember folks, for Liberals, “Taxes are for Thee Not for Me”.

Here Is the Boston Herald article on Senator Kerry’s 76 foot Yacht:

The statement from the kerry camp just digs him in a deeper hole.
Now, not only is he not paying Mass sales tax, but he could have bought a Mass built boat and supported Mass workers.

  2. on 24 Jul 2010 at 13:502Tennessee Walker

Kerry supporting workers in his own state?!!??? When has this ever happenned??

Any man who is willing to accuse his fellow American soldiers of rape, murder of women and children, and “atrocities worthy of Genghis Khan”, is not going to give a whit about some poor schlub who was too stupid to not marry a Ketchup Princess.

Indulging in a little class warfare? ;-)

  4. on 24 Jul 2010 at 16:574Timothy Pancoast

Looks more like Tennessee is taking aim at the hypocrisy, not the class, but I agree that Kerry’s weath does play a pretty big role in making the hypocricy even more obscene.

  5. on 24 Jul 2010 at 17:575pandora

    Lighten up, Tim.

  6. on 24 Jul 2010 at 18:016Hube

Yeah, Tim — “lighten up” … kinda like this:

Never let it be said that the Right misses an opportunity to stir up the hate. Kind of ironic that this crap comes from the don’t blame us, it was a lone wolf crowd.

  7. on 24 Jul 2010 at 20:547Perry Mason

Is Kerry’s Yacht bigger than Michele Rollin’s yacht?

  8. on 24 Jul 2010 at 22:358Tennessee Walker

Hey Perry (MP) welcome back!!! You almost managed to write an eight word sentence without a gramatical error!! (It is Rollins’ not Rollin’s. It is also time for you to go back to 8th grade English class.)

Actually, the issue is about paying a sales tax. You will need to inform your law school students that actually sticking to the point is the basis of a sound argument. Kerry skipped out on his responsibilities to Massachusetts. Rollins has paid hers.

Now You have Previously proven that your writing skills are incredibly weak, especially for a law professor. Now it appears that your reading and research skills are equally lame. So Perry Mason if you reread my post you will find the actual size of Kerry’s yacht. Next, you can do the necessary research. (Lawyers know how to do this. Or, maybe you can assign this to one of your law school students.)

Then you may find out whose boat is bigger.

I don’t know why you are so curious. I have been told that those who are obsessed with the size of thngs suffer from feelings of physical inadequacy. Maybe you can get help from someone who comes on this site and makes up a story that they are a Psychiatrist.

  9. on 25 Jul 2010 at 08:179Rick

Of course Kerry’s a fraud; most Socialist-Democrats are. It’s sort of like the socialist pontificator John Lennon moving to New York to avoid British taxes; ‘Imagine.’

While Teresa Heinz Ketchup-Kerry is loaded, so is John; his ancestors were major players in the Chinese opium business. ‘Olde money’ they call it in Boston.

  10. on 25 Jul 2010 at 22:5110Tennessee Walker

I got you Rick. I am aware of the Kerry background. The fact is no amount of insulting on my part can ever get me to feel that Kerry has paid for the betrayal of his fellow Vietnam Veterans. Kerry and Jane Fonda more than any other Americans are responsible for the despicable treatment meted out by the liberals aimed at our brave servicemen who served in Vietnam. I am still convinced that Kerry should have been prosecuted for his perjury in his Congressional Testimony.

Dante never did come up with the circle of hell that should have the likes of John Kerry. The fact that Liberal Democrats embraced this fake and fraud and made him their Presidential Nominee speaks volumes.

  11. on 26 Jul 2010 at 06:3511anon

Kerry and Jane Fonda more than any other Americans are responsible for the despicable treatment meted out by the liberals aimed at our brave servicemen who served in Vietnam.

    LOL!

What “despicable treatment” are you talking about? Note: Quotations attributed to Rambo do not count as evidence.

    “Betrayal” – LOL!!!

Any man who is willing to accuse his fellow American soldiers of rape, murder of women and children, and “atrocities worthy of Genghis Khan”,

Kerry didn’t accuse anybody. He participated in collecting the testimony of other soldiers who were direct eyewitnesses. Most of the testimony checked out.

The focus of the testimony was not on “accusing soldiers,” but on highlighting how the higher-ups escaped accountability.

What kind of traitor would advocate American atrocities should be swept under the rug and not talked about?

Now wipe off the spittle, and go get yourself some counseling.

  12. on 26 Jul 2010 at 07:5112Rick

While Kerry’s phony ‘throwing away’ of his medals, unearned purple hearts, and lying about ‘atrocities’ committed by U.S. troops were indeed a disgusting, comtemptable political calculation, I do reserve a small sliver of respect for him simply because, unlike Bush or Gore, he served in a dangerous combat zone in Viet Nam.

  13. on 26 Jul 2010 at 08:2713Que Pasa

Don’t forget, Kerry also pretended to the masses that he was Irish Catholic, when of course, well all now know that his paternal family was Jewish (Kohn became Kerry) and his maternal family were Protestant Puritans. He is a fraud on so many levels…a human toothache that won’t go away.

  14. on 26 Jul 2010 at 11:2514Tennessee Walker

“What “despicable treatment” are you talking about? Note: Quotations attributed to Rambo do not count as evidence. ”

The “despicable treatment” was what I personally witnessed.
I saw returning Vietnam Veterans on campuses (They were noticeable due to their hair cuts and clothing. They were using their GI Bill benefits.) being accused of being baby killers, being spat on in class by liberal dolts like anon with no discipline by liberal professors. At times liberal, so called war protestors, would walk behind a returning VET and do the liberal name calling refrains as our brave Vet walked around campus.
I really don’t need Rambo, I have never watched a Rambo Movie from start to finish. I guess there are about 14 of them.
I know what I saw. As Groucho Marx said “Should you believe me or your own lying eyes.”
I believe my own eyes. anon loves defending the likes of Kerry and Jane Fonda. I don’t need counseling anon. But you need to go back to Delaware Liberal and get your next bit of marching orders.

  15. on 26 Jul 2010 at 12:1215anon

The “despicable treatment” was what I personally witnessed.

You would be doing history a service to document this with actual details. I can’t find any stories like this in news archives from the early 1970s.

Or is the story more useful to your purposes if it remains murky and unverified?

  16. on 26 Jul 2010 at 16:4716Hube

I can’t find any stories like this in news archives from the early 1970s.

Uh huh. Like you’ve even tried looking.

Here’s the poor man’s LexisNexis. Have at it; see if you can find anything remotely resembling TW’s claims.

  18. on 26 Jul 2010 at 17:5618Pat Fish

Well I’ll tell you proud Mr. Anon too scared to use his name…

I’m 60 years old and I remember what Tim speaks of very well. And not only did I witness many of these despicable acts, I’ll add, to my shame, that I was once part of it.

Indeed I was once a liberal of the highest order, young, liberated, pretty. The men were like a bus; you missed one and another one came along. I marched for Civil Rights, I burned flags against the war, I burned candles in the rain.

I was smart, in college, aspiring to be part of the ruling class. I believed the U.S. military were heathans and if I chanced to see any in my travels, I yelled profanities at them and in general mocked them.

I watched John Kerry sit and lie about them and I believed it.

Which is why I am all so very wise to the mindset of liberals.

Jimmy Carter knocked sense into my head. A Democrat, I might add.

Don’t go denying such awful things never happened in this country. I was involved in that Vietnam war, all the lies, the deceit, married to a young man subject to that lottery with a birthday fifth called for draft. He left for Canada. I stayed behind.

For all my liberalism, I could not leave my country.

    I’ve been there…done that.

Hey, I don’t like having all this wisdom but I live with it.

APNewsBreak: Sen. Kerry To Pay Mass. Tax On Yacht
    AP via NPR ^ | 7/27/10 | AP

Sen. John Kerry moved to end a controversy over his decision to base his new $7 million yacht in tax-free Rhode Island, informing the Massachusetts Department of Revenue on Tuesday that he would “promptly” pay taxes as if the vessel were docked in his home state.

In a statement Tuesday to The Associated Press, the Democrat said, “As we’ve said from the beginning, we have always complied with tax laws and we always will. … The payment is being made promptly.”

The 2004 Democratic presidential nominee has been dogged by charges of tax evasion since last week, when the Boston Herald first reported about his decision to dock the 76-foot sloop Isabel in Newport, R.I.

Doing so spared Kerry a $437,500 one-times sales tax charge in Massachusetts, as well as about $70,000 in annual excise taxes. Rhode Island repealed those taxes in 1993, making the state something of a nautical tax haven.

(will the Jones Act violations continue?)

  20. on 27 Jul 2010 at 16:5820Tennessee Walker

So once again Kerry voted to pay the taxes after he voted to not pay the taxes.

  21. on 27 Jul 2010 at 17:0121anon

Delaware marinas are full of out of state yachts. Think twice before you smear them all as cheats.

Tax avoidance is not tax evasion.

  22. on 27 Jul 2010 at 17:2622Tennessee Walker

Pat Fish thank you for your candid account of what you recall from the era. One of the disadvantages of youth is stupidity despite the enduring belief that you are smarter than everyone else, especially your parents. While I know you regret your youthful liberal leanings and the subsequent behavior, I will remind you that there is a reason that youthful indiscretions tend to be easily forgiven. Without the wealth of wisdom that comes from a lifetime of experience, the youngest among us tend to make poor judgements and act on poor decisions. As Mark Twain said ” when I was 14 I thought my father was the dumbest, stupidest, most ignorant human being I had ever known. By the time I turned 23, I was amazed at what the Old man had learned in 9 years.”
I too am not proud of my behavior in those years. I knew that the abuse and singling out of Vietnam Vets was wrong but I decided to mind my own business and just go to the next class. This despite the fact that I had a Vietnam Vet as a roommate for a year.
Now in anon’s comment 17 he references his very lazy, cursory Google Search using Vietnam Veterans and Protests as the search vehicle. Then in his typical LIBERAL pontificating manner he proceeds to say he has done all he has done and that proves his case . If anon had even read with comprehension what I wrote, he would have known I never said these incidents occurred at Protest marches. The events I witnessed were in a classroom and coming to and leaving classes.
I guess it is my fault, according to anon, that a New York Times Reporter wasn’t there. Typical Liberal Arrogance and Pomposity.
Now anon is part of the group that believes that if it is on the Internet it is true and that if it is not on the Internet it is not true. His search was totally bogus at the outset as it did not address the situations you and I saw and ignores the fact that Liberal Newspapers would play this whole thing down to begin with.
I have a better source of information than anon. I have friends and relatives who served in this conflict. They have told me these stories to my face. They have dates and times and situations. Their pain of rejection by their fellow Americans, who they were fighting for, is palpable. Their rejection was caused in part by the actions of Liberals such as Kerry and Fonda and their Liberal Lies.
anon wants to use a faux Google search to convince him. anon just go to a local VFW, American Legion, or Del Vets and ask the older guys who are sitting around the bar. It will only cost you a beer. Even a liberal should be willing to buy a vet a beer.

“Delaware marinas are full of out of state yachts. Think twice before you smear them all as cheats.

Tax avoidance is not tax evasion.”

Thank you anon once again for defending Senator Kerry who now admits he owes the tax. Now, how many out of state yachts in Delaware marinas are owned by U. S. Senators who constantly vote for higher taxes including taxes on yachts ?????

Actually I support Senator Kerry’s decision to base his yacht in a tax haven. My problem with his decision is that it demonstrates what a hypocrite he is. Kerry has voted for increased taxes on yachts (it was called a luxury tax and all liberals loved it. It also laid off everyone in the boat building business) that nearly killed the industry in the U.S..
Liberals are inherently hypocritical and Kerry is case # 1. He tried to “avoid” the tax and only pays it after he is caught. Liberals are always looking for loopholes in their own taxes. The Liberal motto is “Taxes for thee but not for ME!!”

Quit tying to change the subject anon. Kerry is and has always been a scumbag. The fact that he has been caught with his panties down is typical.

  24. on 27 Jul 2010 at 17:4524anon

There is nothing hypocritical about following tax law. What’s hypocritical is giving in to whiners and smear peddlers.

  25. on 27 Jul 2010 at 17:5125Tennessee Walker

It is hypocritial when you are the one making the rules and expect everyone else to follow the rules but you and your buddies.
But again defending a total scumbag like Kerry is what I expect from Liberals. Kerry now admits that he owes the tax and will pay it. I thought you would be happy.
Kerry now will pay the tax after he refused to pay the tax. Gosh how many times can Kerry say and do stuff like this. Didn’t Kerry vote for the appropriation before he voted against it?

  26. on 27 Jul 2010 at 18:3626Michael P. Borgia

I think this entire thread is something of a waste of time. Everyone with half a brain knows John Kerry is a dirt bag of the highest order. He betrayed his fellow soldiers in Vietnam publicly before Congress. His public life should have ended right there when the words “Genghis Kahn” left his mouth.

He voted against funding troops in battle during time of war, after having voted for it.

He divorced a woman worth $300 million…so he could marry one worth $600 million.

Soon his prized committee chairmanship will be gone and he will be but a powerless “ranking member” when Republicans take back control of the Senate…and with that his power base will be gone.

But basing his boat in a tax haven. Hell, I would do the same thing. But I’m a conservative and practice what I preach.

  27. on 27 Jul 2010 at 20:0627anon

I think people are thinking of protests against campus military recruiters and ROTC and confusing those protests with “abuse of returning troops.” They are two different issues.

It is amazing that nobody bothered to write down any stories about abuse of returning Vietnam veterans during the time it was supposedly happening.

  28. on 27 Jul 2010 at 20:1428anon

If Kerry supported tax cuts for the rich you would be polishing his capstan.

Kerry was a hero in battle and a hero in peacetime testifying before Congress. You people wouldn’t even recognize a patriot if you saw one.

This isn’t the first time you guys have tried to lie about Kerry and a boat.

Smear away, patriots! You are showing yourselves for what you are. Your hate for American shines through.

  29. on 27 Jul 2010 at 20:1629Rick

Now that he’s been hounded by reporters, he’ll acquiesce- his self-interest demands it. He won’t pull a Rangel.
