One of the most important operatives in the field in Afghanistan was compromised by the New York Times based upon administration sources. I do not hear a peep from the Valerie Plame crowd who were outraged about the leak of a name of an agent who hadn’t been active in the field for years. I hate it when that happens.

Do you really think this was a secret in Afghanistan?
The New York Times again published on the front page the name of an alleged CIA-paid undercover asset. This time, it was none other than Ahmed Wali Karzai, the powerful brother of the Afghan president. The Times cited, on background, Obama administration “political officials,” “senior administration officials” and others as its sources to the effect that Karzai has been secretly on the CIA payroll for eight years and has been helping the United States with intelligence, logistic and base support for our special forces, and recruiting and running an Afghan paramilitary force on the instruction of the CIA — as well as being a major narcotics trafficker.
“Do you really think this was a secret in Afghanistan?”
And Joe Wilson’s wife Vaklerie’s employment by the CIA was a secret when she drove to Langley everyday?
David’s post was on the rank hypicrisy of liberal news organizations and you fell right in line with the hypocrites.
Miss Valerie is in such trouble that she is photographed by Vanity Fair and goes to Georgetown Cocktail parties without a body guard.
But since a well known CIA employee’s name making it into general circulation is not a big deal, maybe you will start the “free Scooter Libby” movement.
Media bias crap aside, does no one think that having the brother of an allied government’s president on the U.S. payroll is a problem in any way?
Think that maybe, just might, possibly skew our intelligence efforts in favor of his brother? And against any, say, opposition candidates?
Plus the guy sells drugs.
But for the CIA, chalk that up as a major win! Yeahoo!!
Do you not think it would be a value in anyway, anon? He is not our only source, but is it not possible that he would be a valuable one? If he were, he is a little less valuable today.
I do not know how valuable of a source he was. I would rather not even know that he was a source. As TW said, the points are that there obviously was a political basis for the Plame investigation and the media continues to be hypocritical.
