Who has the fishy information part 1
Oct 2nd, 2009 by David Anderson
A Fact check of the Herb Kohl Committee’s fact sheet to seniors on health reform shows that emails are not the only place with fishy information. Let’s present their argument and see how well the fact checkers do with the facts.
Members of Congress refuse to give up their health plans to take the public option.
This is FICTION. Reforming our nation’s health care system is meant to give every American access to quality, affordable health care – just like Members of Congress have. In fact, one of the Senate proposals would require members of Congress to join the public option, giving them the opportunity to show Americans the trust they place in government‐run health care.
Is it fiction? Notice only one of eight proposals has that in it and an amendment to include it in the Senate version was voted down. Maybe they shouldn’t be so Shermanesque. This is not a good start.
Health care reform will cut Medicare and take away choices for seniors. This is FICTION. Under health care reform, Medicare will continue to offer seniors the choices they need. Health care reform ill also include provisions to eliminate waste, fraud, and abuse in Medicare. But this will not keep you from getting procedures that you need, when you need them.

Not so fast the The CBO says that it will. The very financing mechanism of the bill claims massive cuts of half a trillion in layouts. The very same Democrats who claimed 6.4 billion in cuts over 5 years would be devastating.
The government is creating a “Czar” who will decide what treatments are best for certain
conditions and force physicians to treat patients in a certain way. This is FICTION. The House proposal includes provisions to fund research that will compare treatments for certain conditions. This type of unbiased, fact‐based research will be available to both patients and doctors to help them to make the best individual treatment decisions for each person. In addition, the proposal also explicitly prohibits “denying or rationing” medical care based on this research.
They are right there. They form committees to determine benefits not one Czar. It is strange that this is the only place I heard the “Czar” argument. It seems like a duck from the real issue of the benefits commission. You can’t get away from the official summary.
(5) prohibit cost-sharing for covered preventive services. Requires the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to provide for the development of quality measures for the delivery of health care services in the United States. Establishes a Center for Comparative Effectiveness Research within the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality, financed by a tax on accident and health insurance policies, to conduct and support health care services effectiveness research. Sets forth provisions to reduce health care fraud. Amends title XIX (Medicaid) of the Social Security Act to:
It seems like the people putting out fishy information are the people who claim to be the ones on our side. Don’t believe liberal Democrats bearing bills. Why is there no condemnation of using government official reporting to spread propaganda?

The Socialist-Democrats want nationalized healthcare for one simple reason; they are Socialists, and they want to place another large segment (1/6th) of the economy under the control of Washington know-nothings.
I love the way Socialist-Democrats like to assuage peoples’ concerns by stating that ‘Medicare and Medicaid are federal programs, and look at them.’ Well, look at them- they are bankrupt, unsustainable socialist failures. Great, now let’s ruin the medical system for everybody. Idiots.
We are not talking about reform but perversion of health care.
As a modest proposal, lets start by dumping most of the shysters in both houses of Congress and enacting some meaningful tort reform. How can we expect the hacks who know nothing but their ‘quiddities and quoddities’ to be able to deal with a complex issue? How can they stand up to the trial lawyers who fatten their campaign treasuries?
If there is a lot of money wasted as a result of fraud, track down the culprits and put them in prison after demanding full restitution.
