David,
It's not the way it used to be though. I kept telling people that last year. These people were entrenched in the politics of the northeast for decades and wouldn't have dreamt of Christie in NJ or Brown in Mass. or even the Hoffman showing in NY. There's a select few political minds (most of them on this blogroll) in and around Delaware who are informed, engaged and intelligent enough to see that things are in fact changing and that voters aren't blind to things like Principles and Values (and not just the words, but KNOWING what THEY believe and looking for it in a candidate). People are starting to vote more as informed and active citizens participating in government and less like a bunch of sheep picking the next Hollywood starlet. People have awakened and it's caught (dare I say it) most of the state's political strategists and party officials totally off guard. I sincerely hope that candidates wake up. We can smell a rat. We're Americans and we're not stupid. We're simply not going to take the same garbage in and garbage out we've been getting.

That is good advise. I would also point out that Axiom almost won the seat for Hoffman. It took both parties to beat him. That means that they also understand the North East/ Mid-Atlantic.

I wouldn't count anyone out based on hiring a political consultant firm that's worked effectively in the heartland of America during the "politics of the past". Wade's going to have to innovate and carry a message that resonates with the people of the state (and especially with the fiscally conservative base of the GOP). The days of political strategy firms doing business as usual are over. Now, Axiom appears to get that and what they are doing with Col. West is good. What I need to see personally is some positions on issues. I need to see what values he represents. The website is vague but I think this is an area where Axiom will help him out. I'm not sure his message will resonate with the current climate in Delaware as it's structured so he may need to clean some of that up.

From the perspective of someone involved in the "Patriot Movement" I can tell you that his message is sort of unknown. If he's going to beat Carney (and win the primary first) he's going to need the base of patriot activists that the TEA Party and 9-12 groups represent. Other candidates in the race have reached out to the TEA Party and 9-12 movement and have earned some respect within that community. I think Wade sounds great from what I know...but I need more.
