VA Governor’s race shocker
Aug 5th, 2009 by David Anderson
The aftermath of the debate is in. Bob McDonnell has taken a 14 point lead in a Democratic poll. It is even a little worse in the public poll. Deeds can still turn it around so Republicans can’t get over confident. Nonetheless it is powerful that McDonnell is over 50% in every post debate poll. Add to this that the National generic ballot favors the GOP by its highest level in years, and it could be a very good off year for the party pronounced dead less than a year ago. Most importantly, the Republicans will win Booth’s seat according to a poll. I asked three people. (I saw smiles, don’t deny it.)
The Democrats are not any better off in NJ. There is talk about Democrats pulling a Torricelli and trying for an October surprise. More on that Friday.

In Virginia there is heat over supporting the stimulus, the economy and the rampant spending.
In NJ there are 553 toll booths and 15 of the top 20 counties for property taxes are in NJ, the place is a mess. Corzine is still not toast only because the whole state has their hand out and he knows it.
