The WAVE is coming
Aug 22nd, 2010 by David Anderson
The GOP Wave is coming. The question is how big will it be ? Wisconsin, Washington, California, and other so called blue states are turning in the senate races. Swing states like Pennsylvania, Ohio, Missourri, Colorado, and Kentucky are firming. Senator Boxer was behind in a shock poll for the first time by the well regarded Survey USA this past week. Read more. This is the year of the dark horse candidate. The Cook Report puts the Democrats at 214 seats with more seats in danger of shifting to toss up. He projects 35 to 45 seats going Republican.

America has seen the ugly face of Socialism, and is repulsed.

the state house and state senate will be almost exactly the same.
Anon, what do you base that prediction on for the state House & Senate?
Turnout is the most critical thing in mid-term elections. If turnout among Democrats is depressed without Obama on the ballot and Democrats in general polling so poorly, it seems to me that a return to the pre 2008 status quo is a more likely outcome.
I am aware the Gov. Markell’s approval rating is somewhere between 58% and 65%, but he’s not running either.

Yes, the wave is definitely coming. There is only one minor problem as I see it.
The GOP is part of the problem. We have people like Mike Castle, Pete King, (R-NY) and Olympia Snowe (R-Maine) that are certainly not conservative and would be much more comfortable as Independents or Democrats.
The 9-12 and Tea Party movements have brought much needed attention to the republican control on how a conservative should think.
In most cases people like Castle have gained so much power that they control the thinking of the GOP hierarchy in Delaware and other states. These senators and representatives are oftentimes very far left of even the Blue Dog Democrats.
Unfortunately, I’m not offering a solution here except that I will no longer support a republican that has sold out to Washington politics as usual. By making special deals with the left, these false republicans are selling the republic, the people and their honor to the highest bidder. And right now the highest bidder is the socialist Obama Administration.

His felt emotional weight- the same logic as any other liberal.
WJ, I know you don’t agree with Castle…. but did you ever think he might just vote the way he believes and his beliefs don’t really match up with yours?
He was very fiscally conservative as a Governor, but he has always been moderate socially. I don’t see this as selling out to Washington, I just think that is who he is.
I know we’d all like a more conservative guy to run, but at his age I see him as a one term guy 2 terms MAX. If Coons gets this seat he is going to keep it for decades.
If I had an easy button I’d put Castle in for the next 4 years and then maybe a guy like Bonini(who by this point has hopefully un-screwed Delaware’s finances) might be ready.

If that’s how he believes, then that’s more reason for getting rid of him.
You are right, he certainly doesn’t believe like any conservative republican that I know. However he does believe like all RINOS I know.
I believe that he is much farther left now in both fiscally and socially than when he was governor.
I see him running on the republican ticket and I believe that he is selling out the conservative republicans that he is asking to vote for him. He sells out all Americans when he votes for something like the cap and trade bill and co-sponsors HR 2159, “The Blacklist Bill.”
I still think he has sold out to Washington insiders and the Obama Administration, in their move to promote socialism on the American people. Yes you are absolutely correct, he and I disagree on almost everything.
I absolutely will not support him for any elected position.
I believe that he is much farther left now in both fiscally and socially than when he was governor.
He is- that’s why so many Socialist-Democrats vote for him.
