Here is the budget. You have about 30 hours to get through it. Get to work.
PS> Start with the epilogue language.

242 pages. Done. Piece of cake.
Wait, you mean read it? Oh. That’s different.
Wonder what took so long…
“Wonder what took so long…”
Actually, this is the earliest I can remember the actual budget being released online. So your pithy attempt to score points now lays in ashes on the ground.
Maybe a little too pithy… actually if you read the News Journal article, the delay was just caused by some traditional posturing and horsetrading on both sides, and I can’t really object to it, because that is politics in the best sense (well, at least an acceptable sense).
Everybody knows there will be cuts as well as tax increases; the game is to make the other guy take the blame.
I don’t really think either side had a (political) interest in getting this out any sooner.
“the delay was just caused by some traditional posturing and horsetrading on both sides”
That’s the report, but they never intended to release it any earlier. The only reason they released it today is that it was introduced on the floor. I had a legislator today tell me they hadn’t seen it and couldn’t get their hands on it until it was introduced. Sad.
Not only that, but it will most certainly change over the next 36 hours. We won’t know what we ‘bought’ until after it’s too late.
