Stop Pro-Abortion Health Bill say the Catholic Bishops in a final appeal. I concur. There is no health value in increasing abortion. It is the gravest of evils.
I oppose this bill because I believe it is poor policy. The other side believes that more Americans benefit than are harmed. I believe it is possible to pass a bill without the harm to gain the benefit. Those debates are part of our system. Argument over policy does not make one evil or good.
Undermining our uneasy consensus on abortion is another issue. I believe that this version is evil because it attacks human life. By 3 to 1, Americans oppose funding abortion in the healthcare reform bill. More importantly GOD opposes it 1 to 1. We will not be a nation with GOD’s blessing if we turn our backs again on the little ones. We cannot expect mercy when we deny to the innocent. It is not popular to say that. Preachers often get criticized when they say it, but it has to be said. I have never particularly cared what people think when it comes to intrinsic issues, but rather I care that I get them to think. I am not changing now. I appeal to anyone who happens to see this post. Please do not saddle America with this shame.
I leave you with three simple thoughts. Abortion is not health care. Abortion kills not heals. Abortion needs to stay out of any real health care bills.
