Steve Newton Reminds Us ACORN is not all Corrupt
Sep 21st, 2009 by David Anderson
While I have noted that in posts and comments sometimes the sensational corruption in recent years and radical political agenda of the National ACORN supersedes the attention that should go to the good work of some local affiliates. Our own Delaware affiliate deserves a shout out for passing its sting.
Thank you Steve for pointing it out. It never made the papers.

While it is always shocking to see an advocacy group especially one that aims to assist the poor receive such scrutiny, the workers did act inappropriately. Rather or not these are isolated incidents or not, I have not seen enough evidence to convince me of either side, but the organization definitely needs to tighten up a bit.

A bit, the national organization has a history of corruption. My only point is that there are many local affiliates. I find that sometimes it can be overlooked that some people do try to do the right thing and can’t be broad brushed. I think the solution is localism. Everyone can stand or fall on their own merit.

Ed Morrissey at Hot Air had the catch of the day yesterday when he revealed, based on Congressional Budget Office internal projections distributed to Congress during the summer, that the Social Security system will spend more cash than it takes in during the government’s next fiscal year ending September 30, 2010.
