Senator Carper’s “Video Chat”
Aug 17th, 2009 by MariaEvans
From the event’s host, The News Journal:
Join a Web video chat with Sen. Tom Carper on the plan to reform health care live at 5 p.m. today on DelawareOnline.com.
You can be a part of the discussion by posting your comments and questions.
Will this be the new forum for health care discussions across the country so our elected officials won’t have to face their constituents?

I don’t know but let’s be there.
I agree.
This way they can censor the debate. But seriously folks, I’ve said technology can be our friend on this. Really it shouldn’t be the politicians speaking at these townhalls so much as they should be listening. They should be noting the concerns of their constituents and only after careful thought and research should they comment.
Remember, Carper is your friend, not ours. I expect you will have an easy time getting your questions to him. Progressives, not so much.
That was kind of a waste of time. I don’t know if it was a problem with my computer, but it kept cutting in and out so much that I didn’t get much out of it.
I agree, it really was a waste of time, not only due to the cutting in and out, but also due to the fact that Carper said almost nothing, a great big vacuum!
I am not surprised that Carper had nothing to say. He isn’t interested in saying anything that we can hold him to down the line. He is going to follow the Sen. Fin. Sub Comte recommendations no matter what.
Carper never says anything. On WGMD, it takes Carper 15-minutes to answer the question ‘is it raining outside?’ This is a technique, mastered by Socialist-Democrats, to limit the number of real questions. Escape through obfuscation. A fine ‘public servant.’
