Seals Charged

Nov 25th, 2009 by David Anderson

Alright so much for my week off.  This is keeping me up tonight. Our Navy Seals captured one of the worst terrorists in the world, and now 5 years later they are facing charges because he claimed they punched him and bloodied his lip. Poor baby, he shouldn’t resist. He should be thanking Allah that we let him live. What type of insanity has infected the ruling party? We don’t even charge American correction officersfor assault in those circumstances. Why are we persecuting people that we should be rewarding? I hope Americans all over the nation will go to whitehouse.gov and express their concern. We need to support our troops not undermine and persecute them.

Why are we persecuting people that we should be rewarding?

Because we are living in the upside-down world of of Obamaism, where wrong is right, fatuity is leadership, debt is ‘investment,’ policy is a dinner party and American greatness is hegemony.

    Stop the Commie Bastards!!!

    The consequences are real.

Terrible. Typical of Obama and Holder though. Coddle the terrorists, punish those trying to keep us safe.

  4. on 25 Nov 2009 at 10:484noman

How does beating up a prisoner keep us safe?

  5. on 25 Nov 2009 at 10:535noman

Oh, and they are charged with not only beating up their prisoner, but also:

Dereliction of duty, because their specific orders were to keep the prisoner safe. I think you will agree directly contavening orders is a serious matter in the military, and

Making a false official statement. You will also appreciate that the military sees lying on reports rather dimly; it is a serious disciplinary matter. Sometimes the lying is worse than the actual offense (See Clinton, Bill).

  6. on 25 Nov 2009 at 11:016David Anderson

The facts that I see say that you are wrong, besides this should fall apart because it is too late to bring these low level charges–the equivilent of the statue of limitations. That is why they rejected non criminal punishment and asked for their day in court.

  7. on 25 Nov 2009 at 11:277noman

I hope the SEALS get off with a slap on the wrist or less. But they must face military discipline at some level

In January Obama pledged that under his adminstration America would not torture. And in January he gave the Cairo speech laying out a new beginning with the Muslim world.

The order to keep prisoners safe is not to “coddle” them. It is to protect the interests of America in our foreign policy.

To violate those orders, or protect those who violate them, is a direct challenge to the Commander In Chief that cannot be tolerated.

Yet here we have US troops allegedly beating up Muslim prisoners, against orders and as an embarrassment to US foreign policy. It could not be ignored.

  8. on 25 Nov 2009 at 11:288noman

Cairo speech in June I mean…

  9. on 25 Nov 2009 at 11:319h.

Now,giving a terrorist a fat lip is considered torture. Awesome.

  10. on 25 Nov 2009 at 11:3910noman

A fat lip is not torture. But beating up prisoners in custody undermines our position on torture, and undermines our pledge to the Muslim world for a new beginning based on mutual respect.

When Obama pledged not to torture he also pledged to adhere to the Geneva Conventions that prohibit beating prisoners in custody.

“I was clear throughout this campaign and was clear throughout this transition that under my administration the United States does not torture,” Obama said, when asked at the news conference whether he would continue the Bush administration’s policy of harsh interrogation. “We will abide by the Geneva Conventions. We will uphold our highest ideals.”

Regardless of the definition of torture, or the exact wording of the Geneva Conventions – our “highest ideals” do not include beating prisoners in custody against orders and lying about it.

The facts of the case are in dispute – how serious were these injuries, was the prisoner resisting, handcuffed, etc. That is what the court will resolve. And bringing the charges will show our Muslim friends and adversaries that we are serious about the “mutual respect” thing.

“A fat lip is not torture. But beating up prisoners in custody undermines our position on torture, and undermines our pledge to the Muslim world for a new beginning based on mutual respect. ” – noman

Tell me what you think about giving someone a fat lip who just cut off your brothers head with a sword…while he was on his knees, bound, gagged and wearing a hood.

You liberals with your holier than thou approach to torture are really, to be honest, out of touch with reality. I’m much more in line with Washington who was willing to fight the Indians who joined the British in the same manner they fought us.

During the Revolutionary War the Native American tribes were split on support for colonies and the crown. For some time they agreed to stay out but it soon became obvious that sides would be taken. Some joined the British ranks (well they were USED by the redcoats) and others fought by the side of the colonists. The motives were typical. Those who fought for the crown were promised gifts, wealth and land. Those who fought for the colonists were also promised land, and peace and they figured it would be easier for them in the long run to fend off a smaller “country” than to stop the British empire. The Native Americans as you may know did not really fight in the traditional European way where lines of regulars would stand a few hundred yards away and fire volleys of lead balls at one another knocking down as many as possible. Instead they were used as harassments against the citizens of the colonies, the women and children. They would raid villages and kidnap, rape and murder the women and children, often scalping them and pillaging their homes. The Iroqouis indians who sided with the crown were especially brutal. They were known best for the savagery they would employ on the colonial citizens and their ruthlessness. After attempting to negotiate with the Iroqouis leaders to no avail, Washington had no choice. The raids led to a massive counter offensive planned by George Washington and commanded by General John Sullivan which entered the Iroquois homeland and applied a scorched earth policy to the villages and cornfields which the Indians had prudently abandoned.

By the way, this man, Ahmed Hashim Abed, military code name “Objective Amber”, has been wanted for quite some time. His alleged crime is being the mastermind of the murder and mutilation of four security guards for Blackwater USA in Fallujah, Iraq in 2004.

The security guards were at that time transporting supplies for a catering company. They were ambushed, shot and had grenades thrown at them. And as if that was not enough, their bodies were burned and then dragged through the city. The bodies of two of them were hung on a bridge over the Euphrates, for all the world to see.

It is for this reason that Abed was being tracked down for quite a bit of time, touted as one of the “most wanted terrorists” in Iraq. He was finally captured by Navy SEALs, and instead of these SEALs receiving a ‘thank you’, they were slapped with assault charges instead.

He was punched in the face as he resisted being captured by the SEALs. It’s a bit different than punching him in the face while he was handcuffed. Are yous saying for instance that our military members should not use physical force to aprehend a suspect? Should they be prohibited from using the SAME FORCE that a domestic police officer uses in the aprehension of a drug dealer who resists arrest?

  13. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:0613noman

Obama is fighting to regain the moral high ground surrendered by Bush.

Americans don’t beat up prisoners in custody. We are supposed to be different. How quickly you give up on American exceptionalism.

  14. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:0914noman

He was punched in the face as he resisted being captured by the SEALs.

If that is true then they will walk away from the courts-martial with their names cleared.

He wasn’t in custody. He was BEING CAPTURED.

Obama is doing NOTHING but surrendering to these bastards and making America less safe. He’s weak on national defense (and everything else) like all liberals are. He and you are destroying this country piece by piece and you’ve been doing it for generations.

  16. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:1116DEConservative(Evan Q)

They shouldn’t be court martialed at all for doing their jobs. How would you like to taken to court for doing your job?

  17. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:1117noman

If that is true then they will walk away from the courts-martial with their names cleared.

Assuming, of course, that they also beat the “dereliction of duty” and “false report” charges.

  18. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:1518Tennessee Walker

It is obvious that our resident terrorist apologist noman has already decided to be judge and jury on this. If this were a domestic drug dealing, murdering, rapist noman would be the first to say he is innocent until proven guilty. Now that it is a member of the U.S. Military he is ready to lock them up and throw away the key.
The Al Queda handbook tells terrorists to allege abuse whenever they are captured. They do this with the full knowledge that the useful idiots in the west, such as noman, will carry the cause of the terrorists to the public at large.

  19. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:1519noman

They shouldn’t be court martialed at all for doing their jobs.

The courts-martial is an inquiry that theoretically at least is designed to find the truth. So it will examine whether they were “doing their jobs” or went beyond.

If in fact they were ordered to keep the prisoner safe, “just doing their job” might be a tough argument to make. We’ll see.

We are trying to establish a rule of law, not frontier justice.

  20. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:1620noman

Now that it is a member of the U.S. Military he is ready to lock them up and throw away the key.

I already said I hope they get a slap on the wrist or less, so you have blown right through “spin” and gone straight to full-blown lie.

  21. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:2421noman

If this were a domestic drug dealing, murdering, rapist noman would be the first to say he is innocent until proven guilty.

If there is a convicted domestic drug dealer/rapist/murderer he is almost certainly guilty.

But if a citizen is *charged* with those crimes, you are right, I will be the first person to say “innocent until proven guilty.” Too bad you won’t be in line behind me.

I guess that’s the thing about American exceptionalists – they have so many exceptions.

  22. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:2522DEConservative(Evan Q)

noman, do you have any military service behind you? Ever served? Ever actually been a soldier, seamn, airman or Marine?

  23. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:2923DEConservative(Evan Q)

Because for someone who makes such bold claims, you have not the slightest clue what you’re talking about. Did you know that most Courts Martials even if they find the defendents not guilty can remove them from the military? They can discharge them for even being INVOLVED in a courts martial. In fact, the military can INVESTIGATE offenses without a courts martial process. What happened here is that the military decided to proceed with an Article 15 trial despite the overwhelming evidence that showed the SEALs were cleared of wrong doing because the administration has a policy of non-violence against terrorists.

  24. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:3224noman

No, I don’t. Plenty of relatives living and dead do though, so I am not ignorant. Also doesn’t mean I don’t have respect where respect is due, so don’t go there.

    Your turn.

And after you are done telling us about your military service, see if you have anything else to say about the actual topic.

  25. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:3325noman

the military decided to proceed with an Article 15 trial despite the overwhelming evidence that showed the SEALs were cleared of wrong doing because the administration has a policy of non-violence against terrorists.

The burden is on you to show this claim is true. Link? I didn’t get that from any of the recent news stories on this topic.

  26. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:3826DEConservative(Evan Q)

In fact, it’s become quite clear to me that you sir are indeed what your name claims “no man”. I really have to question your overall intelligence because int he many months I’ve been reading your drivel and nonsense the only thing I find from one to another that is similar is that you are a coward and weakling and you really have nothing to offer. You are indeed a liberal. Liberals rely on others to play daddy. Liberal leaders are generally communists or totalitarians who are liberals with balls. Liberals like you, who regurgitate talking points and defend the actions of your leaders are just weak and pathetic loudspeakers. You don’t think for yourself, you think in a community. You think in packs. Someone from your group of artsy friends says something and everyone repeats it. Kind of like the yip yips from Sesame Street ( http://desedo.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/yipyip1.jpg ) and it’s pathetic.

noman- You’re an idiot..go do the research on your own.

As for my military service, I served as a U.S. Marine from 2000-2004 and served in Kuwait/Iraq during the Iraq War. I too have a host of relatives in the past who have served in the military.

At home, my mother in law (you’d hate her because she uses force to aprehend suspects) is a probation and parole officer who is on the joint task force with the County police. She suits up fairly often and breaks down the doors of the baddies here int he state to serve warrants and stuff. Personally, I want her AND my friends and family in the military to be able to knock these jerks the hell out if they have to in order to keep them safe.

  28. on 25 Nov 2009 at 12:4428noman

Well, you may not be able to describe your military service but now you are commander of the Bulls**t Brigade.

You still haven’t explained how beating up suspects in custody keeps us safe.

In fact our CINC has launched an effort to explain to world that Americans do not do such things. I hope the SEALS are cleared.

THEY WEREN’T IN CUSTODY STUPID. And YOUR commander in chief is far from it. President Barack Obama is a farce, a fake and dare I say it HE is in dereliction of duty to the American people. Many of the actions he and his administration are taking are ACTS OF TREASON meant to bring about the destruction of America and American values.

  31. on 25 Nov 2009 at 13:0031noman

uh, I did talk about my military service dummy

Our posts were 2 minutes apart. Yours cleared right after I posted mine. *shrug*

    THEY WEREN’T IN CUSTODY STUPID.

Link please, I didn’t see that anyhere. I hope it is true though because that would clear the SEALS of at least one of the charges.

And YOUR commander in chief is far from it. President Barack Obama is a farce, a fake and dare I say it HE is in dereliction of duty to the American people.

Your lack of respect for civilian authority is noted.

Find it yourself stupid, I did

“Ever actually been a soldier, seam(a)n, airman or Marine?” Typical jarhead Evan, you’re supposed to capitalize all of them, not just Marine! – GRex

Actually it’s only officially grammatically acceptable to capitalize Marine…the rest do not have the official acceptance by Webster’s…Lower case marine is a descriptor having to do with the ocean or sea.

    And yea, I mistyped…I missed an A. :P

  34. on 25 Nov 2009 at 14:2334G Rex

I don’t know about the squids and the zoomies, but Soldier is capitalized when referring specifically to those serving in the US Army. If it’s not in Webster’s then maybe it’s just Army policy?

  35. on 25 Nov 2009 at 14:3635DEConservative(Evan Q)

G Rex…that was an Army edict made by General Schoomaker that Webster and the AP told him to shove it because they won’t change the English language for some Army General. Apparently for a Marine…it’s a different story. ;)

  36. on 25 Nov 2009 at 15:1536David Anderson

I guess that I am not the only one disturbed by this travesty. Tell the Whitehouse to free the Seals.

  37. on 26 Nov 2009 at 10:2937Rick

Our soldiers should carry Saturday night specials on them, and when confronting slime, just shoot the bastards, plant the gun on them, and say that they fired in self defense. This eliminates the expense of feeding, clothing, housing and adjudicating their worthless, stinkin’ terrorist butts. End of problem.
