Sam Wilson Cleared
Feb 20th, 2012 by David Anderson
Bogus anonymous complaints against Conservative Sussex County Councilman Sam Wilson have been dismissed by the State Board of Public Integrity. Like or dislike Mr. Wilson, the ruling is important for keeping the system of public integrity fair and just. The complaints were based upon rumors such as he got a special rate to buy feed and should recuse himself when it turned out that he had only shopped at the business twice in 20 years (at least once before he was a councilman) and yes paid regular rates. The other was based upon the allegation that he was overheard saying that he would love to help someone out. Not that he would help someone out for something in return (that would be a real issue). Not that he actually helped someone out (which wouldn’t be bad). If Wilson would have been put through the ringer to justify an offhanded innocuous comment, like I would love to help someone (which is what public officials do), the Delaware public integrity process would have become Washington state, or Alaska. In those states the process is often used as a political tool not to protect the public interest. It is important for the process itself to represent integrity if the public is to trust it.

Maggots will do anything to destroy a true conservative- and that’s what Sam Wilson is, a true conservative.
Maybe some year, you ‘moderates’ will come to understand just what we’re dealing with, and wake-up.
It’s not just an anti-conservative thing, it’s a development-wars thing. The same types of complaints were lodged against the former Democrats. Some people charged that Lynn Rogers, Dale Dukes and Finley Jones all had conflicts because Lynn owned a sign shop, Dale owned a lumberyard and Finley had a steel company, and all could hypothetically benefit from development. The PIC cleared them all.
Baseless accusations.
