Ron Williams has a point?
Sep 1st, 2010 by David Anderson
News Journal Columnist Ron Williams had an interesting take today. For the first time in a long time, I actually agreed with most of what he said minus a couple of shots he takes on Urquhart (glossed over all Glen Urquhart said about rape victims), Castle (Mike Castle is not on the ballot vs. Urquhart and voting for one does not affect the other), and O’Donnell (Christine is a serious thinker and candidate). One area that I disagree with him on is the idea that a successful conservative insurgency in the Delaware GOP means others must leave. We need new ideas in Washington. That does not mean we are after anyone. There is no purge or any other silliness. It is just people choosing which direction will better serve America. It means that we are for someone not excluding anyone.
The rise of the conservative majority is the revival of Americanism. It is something that has an appeal to more than just traditional conservatives. The new Gallup Poll shows the GOP with a ten point lead and record support in the generic ballot for house. An open seat obviously presents the Conservative movement with its best opportunity to win. Fay wrote about a political earthquake. The establishment may think it is limited to the Republican Party. I contend that November will show it is broader and more enduring.
This Republican primary race for who runs against Democrat John Carney for the U.S. House seat has turned out to be Delaware’s first legitimate contest on a major party platform by a pro-life, deeply conservative candidate.
And Republicans didn’t even see it coming.
Glen Urquhart, a Sussex developer, is a late comer to Delaware politics and the community in general.
This is a guy who says that a teenage victim of incest or rape should not seek an abortion because abortion, even in the first trimester, is murder. He is heavily pro-military and big on family values issues. You didn’t see him at Woodstock, trust me.
We’ve heard this kind of rhetoric from fringe party candidates and the likes of GOP kookette candidate Christine O’Donnell.
But Urquhart is a force to be reckoned with in the Republican Party, especially in the lower parts of the state the many conservative pockets of New Castle County.
That’s not to take anything away from the Michele Rollins’ effort, which is pretty much on target to replicate the typical Delaware Republican statewide campaign.
But that “endorsed” party candidate might not mean as much as it did for previous statewide contests.
This primary’s results will offer an interesting political dialogue on the extent of Delaware’s conservative wing of voters. We will come away with a better vision of exactly where the Delaware Republicans want to take their party.
If Urquhart wins, which I think he actually has a decent chance of pulling off, it will mark a significant seachange from the traditional moderate Republican model of Delaware voters.
If that were to happen, Mike Castle might want to check out the advantage of switching his party affiliation if he ends up in the U.S. Senate.

If Castle is elected to the Senate and Urquhart loses to either Rollins or Carney, there will have been no ‘conservative insurgency.’
But, there sure is one nationwide. The American people have beheld the hideous socialist hydra, and are appalled.
“Creation out of Destruction!
Has Christine O’Donnell lost her mind- allowing her campaign to employ Thug tactics and Threats-???? Physical Intimidation? This is unbelievable– Even I’m amazed!

O’Donnell Staff Attacks GOP Staffer at Founders Values Event:
Video Shows Staffers Blocking Exit:
WILMINGTON – The Delaware GOP released a video this morning showing Christine O’Donnell’s campaign staff attacking John Hawley, a Republican videographer, as he tried to exit the Founders Values event on Monday evening.
The O’Donnell campaign has taken an aggressive stance prior to the incident on Monday as shown in another video released this morning. The footage shows Queitch and O’Donnell’s press secretary intimidating participants blocking their coverage of her political rally at the non-political “Restoring Honor” event. But on Monday, the campaign took their intimidation to a new level with physical violence. A more in depth review also notes that his facebook page has linked to the group “If I could punch you without getting in trouble, believe me, I would”.
The News Journal first reported on the attack last night and noted “Queitsch was part of a group of four O’Donnell staff members that had circled around the candidate to keep Hawley and a member of the press from getting near her. When O’Donnell walked out the door, the staffers blocked the entrance.” The article went on to note that Hawley has been covering political events for months throughout Delaware and that up until Monday, he has always been treated with mutual respect by other campaigns.
Speaking from State GOP Headquarters, Chairman Tom Ross raised concern over the new tactics employed by the O’Donnell campaign. “I am shocked at the conduct of the O’Donnell campaign and its threats. Delaware Republicans conduct our campaigns with dignity and respect for our opponents and would expect no less from Ms. O’Donnell.”

Nice try, pinhead. Next time, consider your source.
Lee (a leftist environmental wacko, who was inspired by Gore’s ‘An Inconvienent Truth’):
Humans are the most destructive, filthy, pollutive creatures around and are wrecking what’s left of the
planet with their false morals and breeding culture… All human procreation and farming must cease!
It is the responsiblity of everyone to preserve the planet they live on by not breeding any more children
who will continue their filthy practices. Children represent FUTURE catastrophic pollution whereas
their parents are current pollution. NO MORE BABIES! Population growth is a real crisis. Even one
child born in the US will use 30 to a thousand times more resources than a Third World child. It’s like a
couple are having 30 babies even though it’s just one! If the US goes in this direction maybe other
countries will too!”
I’ll bet this left-wing lunatic voted for BO.
