Maria asked who was on the D’s bench in 2005. Of course, you aren’t going to like them, but you have to admit, it was a lot stronger for D’s in 2005 than it is for R’s in 2009.

And, “Captain Superficial” routed your “Angry Old Man and Bimbo” – plus the D’s have the House and Senate in larger majorities than your side ever had in the last 20 years.

What are you looking at winning back next?

Pandora,

Hunstman is to repubs as Lieberman is to Dems. Small state, no national base, social moderate. Not likely to win support from Limbaugh, social conservatives, or fundies.

Crist may be more formidable as a “moderate” repub since he starts from a bigger state. I don’t know much about his record, and he hasn’t been on the national stage much.

I don’t know how either will play with the Bush/Cheney lovin’ repub base.
