President Obama Gets Serious
Sep 28th, 2009 by Timothy Pancoast
Finally President Obama is jumping into action and heading to the frontlines to end this battle once and for all and he is ready to pull out all of the stops. That’s right, the battle for which country will host the 2016 Olympic Games. The President has assembled an impressive team to take this fight to Denmark. Will his shock and awe strategy overwhelm the competition? Here is the AP description of who will be going.
“Obama is also mobilizing his administration on behalf of Chicago’s bid. Senior adviser Jarrett, Education Secretary Arne Duncan and Transportation Secretary Ray LaHood, will also be joining the president and first lady in Copenhagen. All are from Illinois.
They join a Chicago contingent already packed with more star power than a Hollywood red carpet. The first lady is one of the few people who rivals her husband in visibility, and she’ll be joined by talk show host Oprah Winfrey, who trails only Angelina Jolie on Forbes’ annual Celebrity 100 list, a ranking of the rich and famous’ most powerful.
Chicago is also bringing 14 Olympic and two Paralympic gold medalists, including Michael Johnson, Jackie Joyner-Kersee, Nadia Comaneci and Nastia Liukin.”

Who could turn down a request from Oprah?
By the way, how are things doing in Afghanistan this time of year? How are all the people that were fooded out down in Georgia, or Ondoy? How is our economy doing?
President Obama may want to ask cities like Athens, Beijing, or Atlanta what kind of affect the Olympics had on their economies. He could even ask someone with experience like former Presidential candidate Mitt Romney about the benefits and challenges of hosting an Olympic games.

While Obama fiddles in Copenhagen, Afghanistan burns. American soldiers are working and dying and need extra help. Obama continues to delay a surge decision. A decision he should have made at the end of August.
What does a win in Afghanistan look like? Is it possible?
It is not only possible it is probable. The Taliban is not that strong, but they do have a lot of local ties that will stand unless the local people are strong enough to build their own way. If they are marginalized further that will allow Afghanistan to be governed in a federal fashion.
Victory is not having a safe haven for the extremist elements where they can keep the civil war going and having a friendly government that respects human rights.
One thing the Obamas’ are good at- panhandling.
Michelle must have had a really crucial $300K job at that hospital her political friends in Chicago (America’s most corrupt city) arranged for her- they still haven’t replaced her.
P-A-N-H-A-N-D-L-E-R!
President Obama is off to lobby the Olympic Committee to bring the games to a city where a month of gang violence among high school kids led to the beating death of a fellow high school student. It seems to me that his priortities for Chicago may be a little out of focus.
BO wants the Olympics in Chicago for one reason- to line the pockets of his corrupt slumlord friends who need their crumbling privately-owned ‘public’ housing projects rebuilt. It’s that simple.
