Owens -D-23 shows true colors within hours

Nov 9th, 2009 by David Anderson

According to the Gouverneur Times, Democrat Bill Owens broke 4 campaign promises in his first 24 hours in office.  He voted for a public option, raise taxes on the middle class,  cut Medicare, and allow coverage of  illegal immigrants.  Personally, I don’t want illegals making us sick because they have no health care so allowing them to buy coverage unsubsidized does not offend me (we spend the money covering their emergency bills let them pay their own way), but Mr.  Owens seemed to make a big deal of it when he was trying to run to the right of Dede the Commie Lib Republican.

Mr. Owens won with a minority of the vote.  This does not seem like a way to build a majority.

All I can say is remember next November that choice is between a conservative vision and a liberal vision.   If you vote for a liberal, they will not become more moderate on the hill no matter what they tell you.

    allow coverage of illegal immigrants.

How do you feel about the Republican plan to grind up live puppies and feed them to the elderly?

  2. on 09 Nov 2009 at 13:202David Anderson

I am opposed to any plan that grinds up live puppies.

Now to be serious, do you agree with me or Owens on illegal immigrant coverage. I would allow it as long as their is no taxpayer subsidy. Owens is a mean SOB on the trail and would rather them get sick and spread disease to Americans. Who do you agree with him or me, sir?

(back to snark) The Democrat who wants immigrants to get sick and die or the Republican who grinds up puppies for seniors. It must be tough to be a voter.

  3. on 09 Nov 2009 at 13:233noman

Dave - the Republican health care plan does not explicitly forbid the grinding up of live puppies. And if it is not forbidden, it could happen.

And if it could happen, it will happen.

    Why do you hate puppies?

  4. on 09 Nov 2009 at 13:234David Anderson

Why does Owens want immigrants to be sick?

  5. on 09 Nov 2009 at 13:255David Anderson

Grinding up live puppies is against the law. Current law forbids denying medical services to illegals. It also makes federal and state medicaid money available to them if they qualify. Without a specific change, the current state stays.

  6. on 09 Nov 2009 at 13:266noman

So David, could you go over your logic for why you think Owens wants to cover illegal immigrants?

  7. on 09 Nov 2009 at 13:307David Anderson

You do not need to ban illegal activity in every bill. You do need to specify if you are changing existing policy. The Democrat leadership said it would allow them to buy in without subsidy. I actually don’t have a problem with that. It is just another product. I was just wonder what happen to Archie Bunker Owens.

To your question in 6. The answer is simple, it is good policy in both his mind and mine. He is afraid to say it and campaigns like Archie Bunker but votes like Nancy Meathead Pelosi. Is this the kind of leader you want? One who rides into office on the backs of illegals? One who exploits fears then does something completely different a week later? He is both a liar and a demagogue. I thought that might bother you, sir.

  8. on 09 Nov 2009 at 13:368noman

The Democrat leadership said it would allow them to buy in without subsidy.

I hadn’t heard this. Do you have a link?

it is good policy in both his mind and mine.

My head is spinning. So you are falsely claiming that Owens wants to cover illegal immigrants, and then agreeing with your own strawman?

  9. on 09 Nov 2009 at 13:499David Anderson

I am not claiming it. The Gouverneur Times is along with those sinister guys at the AP.

HR 3962 now also contains language that allows illegal immigrants to be covered under the legislation.

When The Gouverneur Times attempted to contact Mr. Owens for clarification of this language, we received no response other than the press release heretofore mentioned. Specifically, we asked if illegal immigrants would be forced to purchase healthcare insurance as citizens will be and whether or not they would be forced to do so at standard rates or if they would qualify for the public option subsidy.

The Associated Press said this morning that: “House leaders said that, in keeping with the Hispanic Caucus’ demands, there was not likely to be any prohibition added to the House bill against illegal immigrants shopping in the exchange.”

  10. on 09 Nov 2009 at 14:3910noman

“there was not likely to be any prohibition added to the House bill against illegal immigrants shopping in the exchange.”

And if it *could* happen, it *will* happen… those poor puppies!!

Actually I would be fine with a final bill that excludes illegals and removes Stupak.

  11. on 09 Nov 2009 at 14:5011David Anderson

I am just the opposite. I think a health care policy should actually save lives not take life. (Stupak stops tax money from going to abortions.)

I do not think there is any public good having a poor, sick, and injured underclass incubating disease which may eventually impact my family. It is inhumane and counterproductive.

  12. on 09 Nov 2009 at 15:0212noman

Of course anybody who needs care should be treated somehow.

But I am having trouble with the concept of a “registered undocumented immigrant.”

I think the way to deal with illegal immigrants is to lock up their employers. Half a dozen CEOs in jail for 1-year sentences, with businesses shut down, is all it would take to cut the illegal population in half or more. Make no mistake, Americans *would* take the jobs that would be freed up.

If we aren’t going to do that, then we are really saying that all the illegals should be treated as legal and are entitled to stay. Once we do that we may as well make them all citizens and let them sign up for health care.

  13. on 10 Nov 2009 at 11:2313Rick

Almost all Socialist-Democrats are pathetic liars, who’ll say anything to get elected. It’s the Obama-Allinsky way, and it will spell doom in ‘10. Keep it up, maggots.
