Statement by ALG President Bill Wilson on Goodwin Liu Nomination
April 6th, 2010, Fairfax, VA—Americans for Limited Government President Bill Wilson today issued the following statement regarding the failure by Obama nominee to the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals Goodwin Liu to provide 117 items asked for by the Senate Judiciary Committee, including speeches, publications, and other background materials:
“Goodwin Liu’s lack of candor in filling out his application for employment as a Member of the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals would disqualify him from consideration by any Human Resources office in America, and it should sink his confirmation to the federal court. This wanton disregard for the Constitutional process of Senate confirmation only confirms Professor Liu’s own writings that show he believes the U.S. Constitution is barely even a guideline for judicial rulings.”
###
Note from me: I wonder what would happen if Bush had nominate someone who said, find my writings yourself. Democrats raked Miguel Estrada over the coals for not answering their judicial philosophy questions to their satisfaction. I imagine that omitting information that is pretty much public record is a higher bar.
The nomination of Miguel Estrada to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit has set off one of the most intense debates about a judicial nominee in years. Since the nomination was passed out of the Senate Judiciary Committee by a vote of 10-9 on January 30, cries of racism, a filibuster and Estrada’s own refusal to answer questions about his judicial philosophy have heightened tensions over what critics call a “court packing” plan orchestrated by President Bush.
The movement to prevent Estrada’s confirmation includes Senators, national civil rights organizations and average citizens. His critics include many prominent Democrats such as Senators Kennedy (D-Mass), Schumer (D-NY), and Rockefeller (D-WV). So strong is the opposition to Estrada the majority of Democrats are supporting a powerful action to stop the full Senate from voting on the nomination, a filibuster. A filibuster is when one side of the debate talks extensively to block action on an issue.

Liu is a liberal whack job.
Liu is so far left that he would be deemed too radical for the Chinese Supreme Kangaroo Court. Oh well, hit fits BO’s ideology.
I would love a roll call on that one. It would be the final nail in building the coffin for a Democratic majority.
Did you mean “Oops” instead of “Opps?” Or am I missing a wordplay?
LOL it is a typo. I had to do it from a mobile device because I was on the road. I can’t change the title.
How about that guy
