Open Government ??? Democrats shut down Documentary

We graciously allowed video taping outside of the chamber. With that the majority tossed someone documenting the hearing on the closed nature of family court.

Dave, whats your point? Videos are not allowed in court rooms either. I didnt see Sorenson or Ramone defending this guy against the big, bad democrats.
You so miss the irony. The chair had the authority to stop him or allow him to tape it. The hearing about making Family Court better (including more open) was itself a little less than as open as the rules allowed. That is ironic. It was not illegal or even a big deal, but it raises a question, why is the default postion always against open hearings?
What I considered interesting is the man was always willing to cooperate, but he was never given any rules or communicated with in anyway but immediate confrontation. Instead of saying here are the ground rules for this hearing… we will allow video taping here and any witnesses who wish to be interviewed may do so here. It was just get him out. By what authority? I say so. That is my real problem. We can do better.
Yep…the Delaware Way
“Sure, we’ve got open government..”
“HEY!…Get those camera out of her!”
Yanno…we must’ve learned it from Washington where they won’t even let CSPAN in to cover the discussions about something the President PROMISED during his campaign that we would see.
I am shocked that anyone thought you would have open government in Delaware.
You need the following:
Inspector General, Referendum, Recall, Initiative, Term Limits and Anti Nepotism.
