Okay, its time for your predictions and other election day thoughts

Nov 3rd, 2009 by David Anderson

It is sort of a your turn open thread.

My predictions–VA GOP sweep McDonnell will get at over 55% of the vote maybe 58%.

NJ–Governor elect Christie by 3% minus 1 % fraud.

NY-23 Hoffman wins

CA- 10 Lt. Gov becomes Congressman, but it is closer than expected.

Maine–Marriage wins, Tabor loses but scares the establishment and comes back revised.

Wa–Civil unions hit a speed bump with surprising opposition, but eaks a victory.  Same sex marriage movement dies in the state slowly.

TABOR passes in Washington State because of superior drafting and worse governance.

Those are my predictions which are worth as much as it cost you to read them.  I would love to see your thoughts or predictions.  Thanks.

Goldberg had an interesting column today in USA Today.

GOP landslide in NY, VA and NJ

Christie will shock the world and take NJ by 5%+ amid allegations that Corzine embezzled millions of $$$.

McDonnell will win going away by more than 15% (likely 60%+).

Hoffman spanks Owens by 8% in NY 23 and invigorates conservatives across the country.

Thursday’s D.C. event will attract “tens of thousands” of smelly “tourists” who will fill the Capitol Building.

House Healthcare bill will come up for vote Friday and narrowly passes only to fail in the Senate forming.

Christine O’Donnell declares officially her bid for U.S. Senate and immediately raises over $1 million dollars. She will beat Castle in the primary.

Phillies come from 2 games down to win the series in 7 games.

Vain, very vain, my weary search to find
That bliss which only centres in the mind:
Why have I stray’d from pleasure and repose, 425
To seek a good each government bestows?
In every government, though terrors reign,
Though tyrant kings, or tyrant laws restrain,
How small, of all that human hearts endure,
That part which laws or kings can cause or cure! 430
Still to ourselves in every place consign’d,
Our own felicity we make or find:
With secret course, which no loud storms annoy,
Glides the smooth current of domestic joy.
The lifted axe, the agonising wheel, 435
Luke’s iron crown, and Damien’s bed of steel,
To men remote from power but rarely known,
Leave reason, faith, and conscience, all our own.

From The Traveller by Oliver Goldsmith

Looking to government for answers still causes grief.

Regarding the race in New Jersey I have one concern. With a close race such as this, and with the history of corruption there, voter fraud could pop up as an issue.

Here’s hoping traditional marriage wins in Maine.

They are desperate. Just pray, even Karzi’s ballot stuffers can’t beat that.

    McDonell wins in VA.
    Hoffman wins in N.Y.

I fear the Obama/ACORN election fraud absentee ballot stuffers win a close one in N.J. with the full approval of the corrupt Eric Holder Department of Injustice.

    Ready to eat my words….
“Christie will shock the world and take NJ by 5%+ amid allegations that Corzine embezzled millions of $$$.” - ok so he won by 4% and no word on the Corzine embezzelment scandal.

“McDonnell will win going away by more than 15% (likely 60%+).” - 59%..but he did win by 18 points so I call this one a win

“Hoffman spanks Owens by 8% in NY 23 and invigorates conservatives across the country.” - Hoffman loses thanks to Scozzafava and the GOP backing Democrat. Also a factor was the absentee ballot (likely more than 4%). Still not over due to a paper ballot issue in one precinct that may be fought in court.
