New Years Address to the Nation

New Years Address to the Nation

By: Vladimir Putin, President of the Russian Federation

” Citizens of Russia, friends,

In a few moments, we will see in the New Year of 2016. The sensation of this wonderful moment between the past and the future is familiar since childhood. We look forward to it with joy, hope and excitement, believing in the best.

Traditionally, we celebrate it with our families, with all our near and dear ones. Of course, not all manage to see the New Year in with their families.

People have to work at hospitals and production facilities, perform their service and combat duty, defend our borders, and be on regular duty ensuring our security on land, at sea and in the sky.

We are grateful to all those who are always on their post, day and night, weekdays and holidays. Today, I would like to extend special greetings to those of our service members who are fighting international terrorism, defending Russia’s national interests at distant frontiers, showing their willpower, determination and staunchness. Though, these are the qualities we need all the time, whatever we are doing.

The success of the entire nation depends on the efficient labour and achievements of each one of us. We are united by the same goals, by our common desire to benefit our Motherland and by our sense of responsibility for its future.

In the outgoing year of 2015, we marked the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. Our history, the experience of our parents and grandparents, their unity in times of trouble and their willpower shall always serve as an example for us. They have helped and will help us to meet all current challenges with dignity.

Friends,

On this New Year’s night, we feel especially strongly just how much our near and dear ones mean to us. It is so important for all to be healthy and everything to be fine. For our parents to be surrounded by love and care, so that all the good things they have ever taught us come back to them.

Let our children grow smart and active, while love and responsiveness, kind-heartedness and compassion support us in our everyday chores.

There are a few seconds left before the New Year. Let us wish each other success and happiness.

Let us thank each other for understanding and support, for sympathy and responsiveness we give each other.

And let us raise a toast to the prosperity and wellbeing of Russia!

Happy New year to you! Happy 2016!”

  1. It seems that he left out ;

” Together, We will keep Russia Moving Forward.”

  2. I wonder if our “joke of a president” could muster up a speech like the one Putin gave, instead of focusing on his “gun grabbing” activities.

  3. Oh, the President of the United States is a “joke?’ Really? Wasn’t he elected? Don’t you believe in republican democracy?

The comment was made because he is a black man. This is racist. hate-speech.

  4. I have a bridge in Brooklyn and some swampland in Florida that I am willing to sell cheap…. Interested?

I understand that ethanol (especially after it sits for at least 6 months), clogs engines and gums up lawn mower engines, boat engines, etc., which is why New Hampshire voters hate Iowa’s exploitation of the early Iowa primary to push ethanol subsidies. I would expect that Delawareans might feel the same way. So if a person’s comments run on ethanol, I wonder what is clogged up.

Your comment is a bold-faced lie and you know it. The president is incompetent and the color of his skin has nothing to do with his socialist incompetency. When you accuse someone of being racist, you had better get your facts straight. Are you drinking again?

  7. Bio-butanol from duckweed will solve the Ethanol problem in engines , and clean up the Inland Bays without a water tax, but as usual , our special interest driven political system overlooks innovative solutions to which I would rather devote more column space instead of having to deal with racist conspiracy theory fanatics trying to hyjack my posts and their misguided supporters.

In other words, you can dish it out, but can’t take it.

You called the President of the United States “a joke.” That is a fact. And in my opinion, it was a racist comment- just like in your opinion Watts is a “bigot,” even though the fact is you or your ilk have never contradicted any of the quotes he supplied. You o lay offered your opinion.

Rick, shouldn’t you be halfway to Oregon by now?

No, we’re organizing just outside Hardscrabble.

  9. RicKKK:

Mynym C. Watts does not drive the discussion on DP. He can post his bigotry on his site or yours if you choose to build one, but he is history on DP. I am under no legal obligation to post, respond to or refute his bigotry , as he is a waste of time and space.

  10. “No, we’re organizing just outside Hardscrabble.”

Aw, c’mon Rick. Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge is just sitting there waiting for some Constitutional scholars to take over and return it to “We The People Who Took It Over”.

  11. @Rick
I’m under no obligation to take it or dish it out and I refuse to put up with Watts’ bigotry, racism and antisemitism. I owe you no further explanation!

I’m under no obligation to take it or dish it out and I refuse to put up with Watts’ bigotry, racism and antisemitism.

I see you both read the same Little Red Book.

Despite your bulls#!t faux-outrage, the simple fact is that you can’t refute the quotes he provides because the quotes are real; they are on record. So, you resort to censorship and name-calling.

If all you want to do is talk to each other, fine. You’ll garner about as many comments on this site as you’ll get votes in November.

  13. Rick:

Get your own blog and see how many comments you get.

It was our original intent to stimulate creative discussion. Mynym Watts and his racist conspiracy theories don’t meet DP’s standards. We will not glorify racists and antisemites by debating with them as they are a colossal waste of time.

Personally, I am more interested in informative writing than responding to crakpot conspiracy theorists and their insidious excuses for comments.

I am more concerned with the quality rather than the quantity of comments.

    Who needs long racist rants?
I don’t… Maybe you do. So , you can always set up ricksrants.com if someone else hasn’t reserved it. Then again, if running your own blog is too much, you could also spend more time in Delaware’s cybersewer, arguing with the Bridgeville Idiot.

Good site names, like good prescription drug names are getting much harder to find these days.

  14. RicKKK

What did you mean by that? Are you calling me a racist? Any proof to back it up?

Then again, if running your own blog is too much….

Why would I want my own blog?

…you could also spend more time in Delaware’s cybersewer, arguing with the Bridgeville Idiot.

I visit Delaware Right- and several other blogs- daily. At least the “Bridgeville Idiot” is smart enough- unlike you- not to resort to censorship.

Furthermore, if he’s an idiot, what would you call a bunch of misfits perennially running a proven-loser of a third party that never has any chance of going anywhere, anytime?

Talk among’st yourselves, just like at Delaware Liberal. It will make you feel better, and you won’t be subjected to unpleasant realities. It is obvious that you can’t fight for your positions, so just eliminate the competition from the conversation.

Welcome to IPoD- the Idiot Party of Delusion.

    AMF

  15. @Rick, you just like confrontation. I hear you on the radio from time to time and you have an agenda, but at least you don’t need to be censored. BTW,The Independent Party of Delaware is the fastest growing party in Delaware and will eventually be a party that will have primaries. You are welcome to your opinion but I’ve noticed that at this time in the evening you must be drinking, because you become more abusive with your denigration of others.

  16. Rick:

You still don’t get it . Mynym Watts’s racist rants are irrelevant to the subject matter of our news articles , so they are dumped in the trash where they belong . This is not an open graffiti wall for every crackpot conspiracy theorist in town. If you don’t like it, you can
find another blog site, as you seem to have alot of time on your hands.

I am sick and tired of having racist bullies and their short fused supporters hyjacking the site and contaminating my posts with their long-winded rants. All they do is drag down the level of discussion and waste our time.

We are developing a quality product and racist ranters simply do not meet our editorial standards.

  17. Rick:

Probably, the main reason that you don’ t want your own blog is that it takes creativity and writing ability. It’ s just much easier for you to scream in faux indignation over the fact that DP has pulled the plug on one of your favorite racist and antisemetic ranters .

    In short, Shove IT!

  18. This was originally an article about Vladimir Putin until some inconsiderate Yahoos screwed up the discussion with their hateful venom.

These are people who don’t have the talent and the writing ability to run their own blog sites, but have no trouble trying to undermine those who do.

  19. Rick January 7, 2016 at 07:39 “Despite your bulls#!t faux-outrage, the simple fact is that you can’t refute the quotes he provides because the quotes are real; they are on record.”

    That’s exactly the problem:

    1) If Mynym or Watts wanted to actually have a dialogue to exchange ideas and gain understanding, in my opinion, that would be good (although perhaps under an appropriate thread or open thread).

The problem is that he (like most such people) is not actually having a discussion.

    2) I or others prove his quotes wrong — or more frequently the INTERPRETATION that he wants to put n them wrong.

    3) He does not answer, consider, or think about the proof that he is mistaken.

    4) He waits a few weeks or months and then posts exactly the same themes (maybe same themes different news articles or quotes), as the prior discussion never occurred.

    5) So what’s the point of proving him wrong for the 53rd time? It doesn’t matter how many times Mynym is refuted, he just keeps clanging the same gong.

    6) That’s not a discussion or conversation or dialogue. Just saying the same things over and over is not a dialogue.

    7) Furthermore, Mynym takes 1000 words to say something that could be said in 50. Me? I take 200 words to say what could be in said in 50 words. But the overwhelming quantity just drives everything out.

    8) As I said, the refutation of Mynym’s quotes is often in the MEANING, although many of the quotes were never spoken by the person alleged to have said them.

So a tornado struck Cape Coral, Florida, over the weekend. That is a fact.

The tornado was NOT caused by a secret Jewish bankster weather machine operated from a secret bunker on Jekyll Island powered by an ancient Aryan artifact discovered in a cave in the Himalyas where the Aryan race began.

    The tornado is a fact.

A Jewish conspiracy to create tornados is fantasy.

So the cite to a news article about a tornado in Cape Coral, Florida is TRUE. But what it MEANS is not what anti-semites say.

  20. Mynym Watts’s comments will no longer be allowed on my posts.

The same goes for spurious complaints from his supporters who cry “censorship” every time his off-topic rants are removed. They are a waste of time , a form of harassment and they undermine the site’s journalistic inegrity. Consequently, they will be eliminated.

My task is to write informative articles and commentary — NOT to provide an open graffiti wall for every racist and antisemite in cyberspace, especially when their comments are irrelevant to the articles and their subject matter.
