WILMINGTON (Nov. 2, 2009) – One year out from the 2010 election, the New Castle County Republican Committee today presented their vision for a revitalized New Castle County with a platform rooted in:
• Impeccable ethics and transparency
• Improved government service and accountability
• Enhanced quality of life, and
• Economic growthThe plan, “New Solutions for New Castle County – Reform, Reinvention and Reaching our Potential: Policies and Principles for Improving our County,” details the NCC GOP’s commitment to providing voters with a clear choice in next year’s elections.
“At a time when every major institution in American life is undergoing dramatic transformation, its high time our government too, adopts new ways of working and organizing in line with the dynamic public it serves,” said Michael Fleming, Chairman. “We have an extraordinary opportunity — and an obligation — to bring some imagination and forward-thinking to the way our County operates, and works with other governments. Importantly, New Castle Countians must also be confident their government is functioning transparently and with the highest ethical standards, particularly at a time when we’ve all been asked to shoulder a massive 25% tax increase.”“We applaud these efforts to offer substantive, creative solutions to our County’s problems, including its well-documented fiscal challenges,” said Councilmen Bob Weiner and Bill Tansey. “We’ve long championed several of these common-sense proposals and look forward to working to see them enacted.”
The New Castle County Republican Party also introduced their new website, NCCGOP.com, where the party invites all voters to learn more about its platform, leadership and their activities in the community including graffiti clean-ups, food drives and participation in local civic and cultural events.
“This is an exciting time for the NCC GOP,” said Joe Oddo, Vice Chairman. “But this is just a beginning – we’ll be working hard over the next year to share our ideas, listen and learn from voters, and build their trust going into November 2010.”

David , you forgot to add the GOP’s idea to change certain elected offices into appointed positions. Many feel that this is admitting defeat and a sign of the GOP in New Castle County circling the wagons. A move such as this would basically turn over these offices that have been traditionally entry level positions into the world of elected offices , to nothing more than jobs to be handed out to repay favors by governors to supporters. We would see a constant changing of the guard per say , even though a person may have been doing a good job , just because of a change at the governor’s level.

Sounds like BO’s pack of lies.
How about:
Cut taxes, across the board
Cut the size of state government by 33%
Implement ‘work for welfare’
Introduce voucher system
Implement ‘work for welfare’
Now there is something we can agree on. Model it after WPA, throw in affordable high-quaiity daycare for single mothers, and we have a deal.
