Mr. Carney–The battle is engaged

My motivating interest in running for Congress is to see that everyday Delawareans get a square deal from a fair deck. For too long, “we the people” seem to get dealt hands with no winning cards. While the favored friends of those in power find an “extra ace up their sleeve.”
I have been following the efforts of former Lt. Governor John Carney via the Delaware Economic Development Office (DEDO) to secure taxpayer funding (YOUR money) for a private business venture in which he has a personal financial interest (HIS money).
Kudos to Ron Poliquin, a Dover attorney, for his tenacious efforts to open this can of DEDO worms and to Charlie Copeland, a proven businessman, for shining the good light on this emerging story at Resolute Determination (resolutedetermination.wordpress.com).
I felt it best to wait for more facts to surface before commenting. So far it is not pretty. It appears, in my opinion, that Mr. Carney is not bashful about working his political connections to advance his personal business interests.
I have read the 23 pages of emails just recently released from DEDO regarding the Carney “Dela Wind” deal. It seems former Lt. Governor Carney is looking for $350,000 of taxpayer money. It further seems that the purpose of this money is to pay for his development plan to get even more money, later, from another government agency. That’s a lot of green.
Now I understand what “Green Jobs” are about.
Former Lt. Governor Carney had current Lt. Governor be the “go to guy” when the project ran into some snags. Two such “snags” being the lack of actual customers and the lack of a detailed business plan and the lack of experience in the wind power business.
Well, I guess that is more than 2 snags, but you get the picture.
Being a member of the Lt. Governors fraternity has its benefits. Carney was assigned two DEDO Professionals to assist in the development of his presentation. It is hard to imagine “we the people” getting this access and assistance. While there is nothing illegal in any of this, it is difficult to imagine the average citizen getting this type of hand holding; this same deal from the same deck.
A conservative person has to question the appropriateness of Mr. Carney, as an announced candidate for U.S. Congress, pursuing taxpayer funding for a private business venture. Mr. Carney’s blind spot about leveraging his government connections for his private financial gain of Dela Wind is troubling.
This just another reason I am putting together a team to plan a run for Congress. I want to see that everyday Delawareans get a square deal from a fair deck. No more aces up the sleeves of the favored friends of the few in power.
See you in November Mr. Carney.

Release the emails!
Agreed, Alan Levin said it was all above board.
Mike Protack
It looks the same and SMELLS the same “good ole boy network” to me!
Carney was part of the team that grew State Government to unsustainable levels. Now he wants state and federal dollars (our money as Kevin Wade would say) for his own private business and enlists Matt Denn to do some of the lifting. What makes anyone think that he will change if he is elected to Congress???
When was the last time a leopard changed its spots???
Another corrupt Socialist-Democrat- Shocking!!!
