Loosing 1 Trillion a Year Just Isn’t Enough!
Jul 15th, 2010 by Timothy Pancoast
Having an annual deficit of over $1,000,000,000,000 a year just isn’t enough….
…to beat that record lets rack up a 1 trillion dollar deficit in a single month. That’s right our President is a leader, setting records left and right. While we were preoccupied with trivial issues such as the financial reform bill, the nomination of Elena Kagan, continued unemployment woes, illegal immigration, a little leak in the Gulf of Mexico, and facing the reality of what the health care takeover will really mean for us our President (edit: let’s not forget Congress) was hard at work doing for the little guy. He was busy meeting the truely tough challenge of our day. He figured out how to spend over a trillion dollars more than he earned.
June is the month I was born and I have got to say, BEST BIRTHDAY PRESENT EVER!!!!! (Well it’s the biggest one at any rate.)
I like to follow a little government publication called the Current Issue. I’ve been paying attention to the Treasury Department’s report ever since we ran an annual deficit of a trillion dollars for the first time.I check every month for the updates and have grown accustomed to seeing monthly deficits. We have run a deficit every month since the financial collapse, but I never expected to see what I saw today. Look at it for yourselves. Ask why this isn’t front page news. Why isn’t this being broadcast all over the TV, internet, and radio? Maybe you have seen this in the news or heard it reported, but this is honestly so big that everyone needs to be made aware of it, and they aren’t.
Here are the links to the report, and a spreadsheet of the surplus/deficit every month since 1980. Look at them. This is not a joke. There is no roadmap for where we are headed. Never before has the US Government Spent a trillion dollars in one month. In June we spent more than 2 trillion while earning less than 10% of that. Where did that money come from and what did we spend it on?!?
June 2010 (numbers in the millions $x,xxx,xxx,000,000)
Reciepts Outlays Deficit
| $251,048 | $2,601,023 | $1,004,028 |

Tim this is the single biggest threat to our well being.
I agree. Unfortunatly it also seems to be the single smallest news story right now. If I didn’t go to the treasury website every month I would have never known that we racked up a record obliterating deficit of $1 trillion in a single month. There is no comparison to what just happened in June 2010.
Well I guess if we just lose a trillion here and a trillion there maybe someday we will be talking about real big money. This discussion makes me very sad for our children.
We must take over the house and Pray we can take the Senate.
