Kevin Jennings say it ain’t so

Oct 11th, 2009 by David Anderson

Teacher Kevin Jennings (see his website)claim to fame began with an appointment by Clinton ally and RINO Gov. William Weld of Massachusetts were he wrote a report on Making Schools Safe for Gay & Lesbian Youth. He is better known today because wrote the foreword to The Queering of Elementary Education– Yet the Delaware state house and senate refused to ensure education policy was exempted from the “gay rights bill” because nothing would every happen. The radical movement is so mainstream that the White House appoints one of its advocates.

He is a man aligned with an advocate of the North American Man Boy Love Association. This administration knows how to pick them when there is no senate confirmation. Interestingly enough why was everyone else in Chicago to attend the school violence summit but the safe schools czar? Are they hiding him? Tony Perkins points out that Kevin Jennings career has not been about safe schools for all, but preventing the very real harassment of gay and lesbian youth. It is a valid concern, but does it qualify one for safe school czar? He is single minded and agenda driven

He wants homosexuality to be taught in American schools — in his book Always My Child, Jennings calls for a “diversity policy that mandates including LGBT [lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender] themes in the curriculum.” But he wants only one side of this controversial issue to be aired, and apparently believes in locking sexually confused kids into a “gay” identity. That’s the implication of his declaration, “Ex-gay messages have no place in our nation’s public schools. A line has been drawn. There is no ‘other side’ when you’re talking about lesbian, gay and bisexual students.”

Tony Perkins has this take.

Jennings does not limit his promotion of homosexuality in schools only to high schools or middle schools. He wrote the foreword for a book titled Queering Elementary Education, which includes an essay declaring that “‘queerly raised’ children are agents” using “strategies of adaptation, negotiation, resistance, and subversion.”

Perhaps the most dramatic illustration, however, of Jennings’ unfitness for a “safe schools” post involves an incident when he taught at Concord Academy, a private boarding school in Massachusetts. In his book One Teacher in Ten (the title is based on the discredited myth, now abandoned even by “gay” activist groups, that ten percent of the population is homosexual), he tells about a young male sophomore, “Brewster,” who confessed to Jennings “his involvement with an older man he met in Boston.” But at a GLSEN rally in 2000, Jennings told a more explicit version of “Brewster’s” story. Jennings here quotes the boy and then comments: “‘I met someone in the bus station bathroom and I went home with him.’ High school sophomore, 15 years old. That was the only way he knew how to meet gay people.”

Did Jennings report this high-risk behavior to the authorities? To the school? To the boy’s parents? No — he just told the boy, “I hope you knew to use a condom.” Sex between an adult and a young person below the “age of consent” (which varies from state to state) is a crime known as statutory rape, and some states mandate that people in certain professions report such abuse.

“In a statement Wednesday, Education Secretary Arne Duncan said Jennings has devoted his career to promoting school safety.”
“He is uniquely qualified for his job, and I am honored to have him on our team,” Duncan said.

Arne Duncan childhood friend of Craig Robinsion, Michelle Obama’s brother and John W Rogers member of Obama’s campaign finance committe must go! Obama has given Duncan 6 billion dollars to use as he sees fit such in the case of 4.5 billion dollars for Race to the Bank, I mean Race to the Top program.

    Jennings needs to go!

Comment 1. He wrote the foreword to a book of someone who a leader in defended the NAMBLA movement. I call that being aligned.

It is apologists like you that disturb me. At least look at the clips and follow the links before you look foolish.

You can argue that he doesn’t hold that extreme view and some would argue differently. I don’t claim that he has that point of view. What disturbs me is that he is cozy with it. He never advised the sophomore of a better way than bathrooms with older men. He could write a positive foreword to the

      Queering of Elementary Education

. I wish that he had an agenda of safer schools. He seems to have a narrow agenda of safer schools for some. That is ok, but not for the nation’s safe schools czar.

David: The person you are referring to, Harry Hay, was not a leader of NAMBLA. He may have said something in the past that was in support of the group — but only, so far, according to Wikipedia which, as you know, is unreliable as a true source of information.

This, according the right-leaning Washington Examiner.

Thanks for the link, my friend. The Washington Examiner has issued a clarification. Since my sources have adjusted their interpretation, I don’t mind adjusting either. Notice though that I do not need to change a word of my post. I said that he was aligned with an advocate of NAMBLA which is exactly what the clarification says. I will retract my comment and replace it with this.
    http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/blogs/beltway-confidential/Obama-appointee-lauded-NAMBLA-figure-63115112.html

Folks at Media Matters are agitated by the above post and others pointing out Jennings’ praise of Harry Hay and the latter’s link to NAMBLA. Hay was not an employee or official of NAMBLA, but was during his later years, according to his entry on Wikipedia, a frequent defender of the group, including this 1983 statement: “[I]f the parents and friends of gays are truly friends of gays, they would know from their gay kids that the relationship with an older man is precisely what thirteen-, fourteen-, and fifteen-year-old kids need more than anything else in the world.”

MM has a point – Jennings praise of Hay was not specifically in the context of the latter’s support of NAMBLA. Readers will decide for themselves whether it is appropriate for an individual who publicly praised an advocate of pedophilia to be appointed Assistant Deputy Secretary of Education for Safe and Drug-Free Schools.

    Sheesh.

There’s no problem with having a homosexual as Czar of school safety.

It’s this NAMBLA nonsense. Add to it that story about the young kid who sought help from Jennings about an adult relationship he was having and Jennings told the kid to use a condom.

    THIS is bothersome.

Anybody that defends NAMBLA is a perv…pure and simple.

Why can’t they just be homosexuals without this boy/man love nonsense? Do they think us silly heterosexuals are suddenly going to wake up one morning with a revelation that YES…THAT’S THE TICKET! Men and boys loving each other!

And with this revelation we will then encourage our sons to seek out such relationships?

    I got a bridge to sell….cheap.

Jennings needs to go, seriously. So far this fellow’s riding under the radar but let the spotlight shine bright enough on this perv and Americans will demand he get the boot.
