It is with great appreciation for their contribution that I informed my partners this morning that DelawarePolitics.net will cease to exist at the end of the legislative session.
With the advent of Resolute Determination and the great work of our friends over there, in addition to David and Elbert having their own sites to tend to, it has become time to turn this effort over to the next generation of blogging enthusiasts.
I’ll have more to say at the end, but I just wanted to let you know we’re packing up the store.

There goes my “I’ve Done It My Way” post! Frankie (blue eyes, not Knotts) is rolling in his grave over that.
Well, let’s get our kicks before the whole shithouse goes up in flames!
No, no, no, no! Resolute Determination has nothing on you guys!
I’m honored to have you give us a nod. The center-right blogging space will miss your aggressive defense of our shared principles. I understand the time commitment and the need to move on. There will always be room for you to come back.
Thanks for setting the bar high and for getting the ball rolling. I owe you a debt of gratitude.
Admit it, it was my “Mr. Burris, tear down this blog” speech that did it.
You will be missed. Hopefully you will continue to read and comment.
Wow, apparently this news hit Delaware Liberal so hard, it caused their server to crash. How ironic, DWA and DP announce the lights going out and DL takes the mortal hit.
Nice switcheroo you and Matthews pulled!
Damn you, Smitty.
We are experiencing technical difficulties and should be back up soon. We have our top web monkeys working on motivating the hamsters that power the servers.
Who knew that you and Matthews had this sneakery inside you!
I spoke to Geek earlier. The server for the posts went poof. Apparently there was some wailing and gnashing of teeth over the DWA and DP announcements and the tears shorted out the box.
Damn you, Smitty.
I hear that every day. Why?
Yeah. Who broke DL?
Better question: Who the F cares?
I thought we orchestrated a sympathy shut down.
Better question: Who the F cares?
You do bitter well, Hube. Keep up the good work.
Better question: Who the F cares?
Me, because I can and I do.
I have those I like, those I tolerate, and the others.
say it aint so!
How will I survive loosing DWA and FSP all in the same month?!?!?
You do bitter well, Hube. Keep up the good work.
You teach certain topics well, chump.
You’ll be missed. Even Anderson.
I gave up housekeeping, home cooking, and Women Behind Bars to follow you and DWA around to comment. I even guest posted late in the night–and now, without any 12 step program in place you pull the plug? YOU got me hooked on this smack, and I find it absolute serendipity w/ Woodstock’s 40th anniversary the end has been announced. Nixon would be proud, and I need a TAB. Godspeed FSP, till we meet again in who knows what medium.
Chump? really?
I’m sorry to hear this. And I thought we were getting sympatico…
Good luck in your new ventures, whatever they are.
Awwww man. Boooooo.
Dave , it is with heavey heart that I write this comment. You originally gave me voice in the blog world. You allowed my point of view to be read on your site and suffered the slings and arrows from those who thought me to controversial and those who thought me an idiot. We agreed on many things and were miles apart on others , but you understood that for there to be real conversation you must be willing to listen to all views. I’m not sure what it was exactly that finally severed our blogging relationship. Was it the article on abortion or my speaking out against the moderate direction the GOP seems to be in ? In the end it really doesn’t matter , because by you cutting me loose from Delaware Politics your forced me out of the nest and once again by doing so gave me the nudge to create my own blog http://www.politicallyfrank.wordpress.com (sorry for the shameful link).
Delaware Politics has been a source of information and a window into the feelings of the people in the state. Dave you and everyone involved with the site should be proud of what you did here.
Your voice and the collective voice of Delaware Politics will be missed in the conversation.
