I wonder why parents want choice in education
Dec 8th, 2009 by David Anderson
Another day and another incident of bullying and ethnic intimidation in a Philly School. If it happened in a work place, it would not be tolerated by adults. Now students are taking matters into their own hands after 26 Asian students were assaulted and needed medical treatment. The environment of ethnic intimidation and harassment has reached a new low. 50 students have launched a public boycott to shame the school system into keeping them safe.
I stand with them. No one should have to be endangered just to get an education. The school should put cameras in the stairwells and other areas which are isolated. These concerns should be addressed quickly and the boycott should become history. The long run solution would be for more choice in schools. The students should not have to suspend themselves in order to be safe. Their parents should have the option of finding a place safe for all.

The Socialist-Democrats have a stellar track record in the inner cities that they have dominated, politically, for the past forty years; in both a social and fiscal context. They’ve done so much for their constituents that it is easy to see why they are consistently re-elected.
Maybe they can do the same for the whole nation?
Stop the Stinkin’ Marxist Bastards!!!
Yea, where is Arne Duncan with the US AG? They fly to Chicago after a student is killed and can’t even address the civil rights violation in the City of Brotherly Love.
“The school should put cameras in the stairwells and other areas which are isolated.”
There is always the bathrooms! The police should have been brought in to protect these students.
Delaware recently decided to overhaul its education system in order to compete for the national “Race to the Top” lottery. Delaware’s education system badly needs to be reformed along with many other states but the question is who the decision makers that will decide how and what reforms are initiated? A group of “education, government, business and civic leaders” was formed in 2006 and dubbed “Vision 2015”. The Examiner has found staggering information linking Delaware education reform to some of the most powerful and politically connected people in the world which begs the question, is this about the kids or about “fundamentally changing America”?
