I support Rubio over Crist for Florida Senate
Sep 28th, 2009 by David Anderson
According to polls either Republican has a solid lead over any Democrat planning to run for U. S. Senate. Most of the attention has turned to the governor who should be running for reelection. The establishment is falling over themselves to support the moderate Crist. I do not. We do not need a Specter light who fell all over himself to appear with President Obama to show support for the stimulus bill while the entire party was trying to push amendments to make it better. He undermined what ever chance there was of doing it. He is a social suspect, a fiscal whimp, and about personal popularity.
The former Speaker of the state house of representatives Marco Rubio is just the opposite. He built a conservative governing majority in Florida. He is a leader of the party and a voice for principle. When we are in a situation where we need every vote to count, why would we send someone who is not a person that we can count on? I have been pondering this for a month but now that George Will has joined the movement, I can not wait. Conservatives don’t waste your vote on a liberal when a conservative can win. People like Rubio are rare, do not waste the opportunity just because we can have an easy race. We may have to get people like Pataki in New York, but we do not have to settle in Florida and the nation can not afford for that to happen.

Crist is establishment through and through, Rubio is principled and genuine.
I spend a lot of time in Florida and it needs help and leadership for the future.
