Huckabee To Testify at the First Congressional Hearing on the Fair Tax

Amidst all of the debt and deficit talks coming out of DC, there is some shocking but great news beginning to show up in new reports: politicians and pundits have actually called for major tax reform. Many of you know that I strongly believe the FairTax is the best way for taxpayers and businesses to participate in the federal tax process because it’s the only solution that’s truly fair, finite and family friendly. I campaigned on this issue in 2008 and my passion on this issue has only grown since then. In fact, I wanted you to be the first to know that your voice will finally be heard in Congress. On July 26th, I will travel to Washington, DC and testify before the House Ways and Means Committee about the importance, need and feasibility of the Fair Tax. We as taxpayers can continue down this complex troublesome tax road, or we can adopt the FairTax and finally put the out of business sign on the door of the IRS. You all know that I have been a strong proponent of the FairTax for years. Never has there been a better political climate for it than right now – and I intend to capitalize while Washington’s ears are willing to listen. Here’s a brief and truthful summary of The FairTax: It’s been thoroughly researched by various experts. It’s a national tax system carefully designed to replace all income and payroll taxes with a simple, transparent and fair national retail sales tax.  The FairTax will eliminate all personal federal income taxes – and will do away with taxes on Social Security and Medicare, corporate federal taxes, gift taxes, estate taxes, capital gains tax, alternative minimum taxes and self-employment taxes. The FairTax is revenue neutral. It isn’t intended to raise any more or less money for the federal government to spend. But it does broaden the taxpayer base by taxing the $1.5 trillion a year annual underground economy, eliminating unfair tax loopholes for the wealthy and by making taxpayers of 12 million people in our country illegally. It’s time for the FairTax! Click here to sign the petition! P.S. We have 16,432 signatures so far.  Join the fight for the FairTax!! The preceding was a statement from Huck Pac and Governor Huckabee.

  1. I can’t believe we are wasting one minute of time on this idea. Is someone really going to base a candidacy on this wacky idea?

  2. Oh, no…. Speared through the heart by another liberal with nothing to offer but name calling.

More than twenty Republican challengers to Democratic House incumbents based their campaigns around the Fair Tax in 2010. More than half of them won, most notably Scott Tipton in Colorado. He unseated John Salazar, the highly popular brother of the former Senator and current Interior Secretary. Their campaign was about little else but the Fair Tax. And Tipton won easily.

    The Fair Tax works…

It will put America back to work…

And the Fair Tax wins for Republicans.

  3. This is one petition that could change America. The Fair Tax is the most intelligent and researched economic program in a generation. It deserves a hearing. It deserves passage.

Either that or you can stick with a tax system designed by Karl Marx and developed by lawyers, lobbyists, and politicians. I think stupid is what we are doing. Who in their right mind would not want to triple growth?

  4. “More than twenty Republican challengers to Democratic House incumbents based their campaigns around the Fair Tax in 2010”

And the number of the bill they introduced in the House to implement this is… what?
