Huckabee Beats Obama
Jan 26th, 2010 by David Anderson
Governor Huckabee’s “populism” may not excite Rush Limbaugh, but independent voters love him as well as most Republicans. One Republican beats President Obama right now according to Democrat leaning Public Policy Polling. He is Mike Huckabee. Team Huck is organizing in Delaware. Look for a future post. Rasmussen shows similar popularity.
Huckabee is in many ways the opposite of President Obama. He has 10 years of executive experience. He is Conservative, people oriented, and in favor of thoughtful change. They are far different on the issues. Governor Huckabee also appeals to the average person and eschews elitism. He is a modern conservative who favors the individual over large institutions. He reflects much of the public mood.

Huckabee coudn’t beat anyone. Don’t kid yourself, he’s another McCain. Just my opinion, but I’ll stick with it.
It is also very wrong. Check out the facts. Huck is a principled conservative who governed effectively and supports like minded conservatives across America like Bob McDonnell. Club for Growth hated him because he supported a tabacco tax to pay for children’s health care. If that is your issue oppose him. I like it. It improved the lives of many poor children who lived in working families.
McCain is somewhat there.
I don’t oppose him because he’s not conservative. I oppose him instinctively; in my opinion, like McCain, he can’t win. It’s probably a moot point; I doubt that he’ll be the nominee, anyway.
It’s way early, but I’m looking at the man who sent former Senate Majority/Minority Leader Tom Daschle packing..South Dakota Senator John Thune. He has a big-time upside.
