Help Fight The Obama Agenda
Aug 28th, 2010 by Frank Knotts
There are a lot of people around the nation who are asking, “what can I do to help stop the Obama agenda?”
Well first, what is the Obama agenda? In my opinion it is nothing less than an attack on the very fabric of the American society. It would seem as if our current president is intent on dismantling not only our capitalist form of economics, but also our republican form of government.
He is attempting to do this by first running the nation into debt so deep through spending programs, that we will never be able to pay off the debt. He is creating more and more victim groups, due to his economic agenda, which has lead to the largest economic down turn in my life, once he has created these victims, he and his legion within congress step in and promise to correct the problems they created. They say they will fix the problems by more of the same, more government regulation of just about everything. More government programs, more government jobs. All of which leads only to more debt. This over reliance on government is what will lead us away from our republican form of government.
To boil down the Obama agenda, it is big government, it is higher taxes, it is to reduce your individual Liberty. Pres. Obama and those who support him want you and your fellow citizens to look to the federal government for all of your needs, from health care to finding a job. The Obama agenda will lead the American people into slavery to government. They wish to bind you in the economic chains that they themselves have forged, as a way to control the citizenry. Pres. Obama and those who support him use what they consider to be subtle means to move their agenda.
They first create a housing crisis, by passing regulations to force banks to lend to people who could never hope to pay back the loans. In doing this they kneecapped the banking industry. Once the loans began to default and the banks were at risk of failing, then what happened? The very same government that created the problem, steps in to “SOLVE” the problem, by bailing out the banks with programs like TARP . Programs such as TARP and other so called stimulus packages have done little if anything to help the economy, but have done great damage by increasing our national debt to historic highs.
The government also has over the years, over regulated the health care system, especially the insurance sector. These regulations have directly lead to the high cost of health insurance. So what is the Obama answer to this government created problem? Well to increase the amount of government control on the health care industry, of course ! And who has helped to allow this agenda to be moved forward? Well a willing congress. Either through direct support of the idea of national health care, or by being unwilling to fight to repeal the health care bill passed by the Obama administration.
There are those within congress that would be happy to do the same thing to our energy industry, that has been done to our banking and health care industries. They have been for years voting to regulate the energy sector, in an attempt to make it un-profitable. Through environmental laws they hope to force the energy producers into the same type of situation that they forced the banks into. We have seen over the years an all out attack on any industry that produces, be it energy or a product. The latest and in my opinion, the most dangerous attack has been the push for some form of carbon tax.
Of course most are aware of the “cap and trade ” bill. But don’t get hung up on that title. I really don’t expect the next attempt to pass a carbon tax to be called cap and trade, though it will amount to the same thing. The idea is to charge producers of energy and products a tax on their carbon output. This will put a huge burden on these industries, but more important is the burden it will place on the American citizens. This will equate to the largest single tax ever levied on the American citizens.
A carcon tax of any kind will force the energy and production sectors to raise the cost of their products, the delivery cost of these products will also increase due to higher cost of fuels. Every item that every citizen buys will increase, and the only winner will be government that is collecting the tax.
So how do we stave off this Obama agenda? Well the easy answer is to elect someone else President in 2012. But many believe that we can’t wait that long. Many believe that we must act now, or risk missing the opportunity to turn back this rising tide of socialism. That means that we must take full advantage of the upcoming elections in November. We must send people to congress that will not only oppose the Obama agenda, but people who will propose measures to turn this ship around. People who feel that it is worth the effort to fight to repeal Obama-care. People who understand that the best way to turn around our failing economy, is not through more and more government regulations, but by removing many of the existing regulations, that do nothing but impede economic growth. We must have people who understand our greatest advantage in the United States, is our individual Liberty, and who will go to Washington to fight to protect it.
We can no longer afford the “go along to get along” mentality, the ”reaching across the aisle” thought process has lead us to where we are. It is time to elect people with the courage to not only say no to the big government and special interest groups, but to say “HELL NO”.
Mike Castle has for many years been one of these “MODERATE” Republicans. He has voted with the Democrats on some very important issues. He has supported Pres. Obama far too many times for my liking and I feel that he cannot be trusted in the U.S. Senate. I feel that to send Mike Castle to the U.S. Senate would only allow him to further support the Obama agenda of bigger government.
That is why I am encouraging every registered member of the Delaware GOP to come out on September 14 th to vote for Christine O’Donnell in the GOP primary. Please help Christine O’Donnell to become the GOP nominee from the state of Delaware, and to become the next U.S. Senator from the state of Delaware. This race is ever so important not just because it would remove Mike Castle from office, but because this is a special election to fill Joe Biden’s old seat. That means that the winner in November will be sworn in the next day and not the following January. This means that if the ousted Democrats attempt to force through their radical agenda in a lame duck session, the question becomes, who do we want in the U.S. Senate when the next version of cap and trade comes up? Christine O’Donnell who has stated that she would oppose any carbon tax, or Mike Castle, who has a clear history of supporting carbon taxing?
I encourage everyone to go to Christine’s website and help this candidate in any way you can. And yes it is that important.
If you would like to meet and speak with Christine O’Donnell in person, then come out to one of her meet and greets. There is one being held in Sussex County this Sunday August 29th. The meet and greet will be held at, The Pelican Grill, this is the club restaurant for, The Marsh Island Golf Course . Appetizers will be served. The meet and greet will be held from between 4-6 p.m. The address is,21383 Camp Arrowhead Rd Lewes, De. The phone number is, (302) 945-6620.

Once the Republicans take the House of Representatives, the subpoenas will fly. My guess is that BO and his neo-Marxists are already shredding documents. The day of reckoning is coming…fast.
Frank, you really should wait until Obama and Biden rack up more debt that Bush and Cheyney, before you get all paranoid about an Obama plot to destroy us with debt. Every time I check the numbers I find Reagan and Bush still remain world record holders for racking up national debt. I like voted for both Reagan and Bush. But the facts are the facts. You have this ideological fanatic thing going where defeating a “liberal” is a greater driving force than seeking the truth. Read Thomas Paine “The Age Of Reason”. He writes of enlightenment, science intellect reason as alternatives to superstition dogma bigotry.
Like most Presidents from Washington to Reagan, the “Obama agenda” is not his. It’s the agenda he was handed. The forces of history that coalesce around each of our 44 Presidents. This President was handed TARP. He was handed brain crushing deficits. He was handed bankrupt auto companies. He was handed failed banks, AIG, financial panic. He was handed the real estate collapse. He was handed 8 million jobs gone. He was handed two unresolved unpaid for wars.
The “Obama agenda” is nothing more or less than where the hell do we go from here?
I repeat, while you are seeking vengeance against the President, looking forward to a GOP Congress to instigate crippling investigations aimed at discrediting The President remember our recent history.
The years leading up to 9/11.
A GOP congress ignoring the warnings laid out in the 1998 bin Laden declaration of war. Brushed aside the dire warning of FBI director Louis Freeh who called bin Laden a clear, present, imminent danger that could strike us at any moment. How did our patriotic “conservative” GOP Congress respond? They set out to impeach the President of the United States. When Clinton fired the first Tomahawk missiles against Al Qaeda the “conservatives” accused him of trying to divert attention from his sex scandal.
Now today, as we even great danger, still reeling from the the 9/11 attack, still staring into the empty hole that was our World Trade Center, even with the clock ticking at ten years waiting for our enemies next surprise, what is it you a the self appointed “patriot conservative” are trying to do? You are a traitor to the national unity these times demand.
Heh.
They write their own history.
It will be a nice trick if Republicans can make the debt and job losses look like Obama’s fault. If Americans fall for that again, we deserve whatever we get.
….before you get all paranoid about an Obama plot to destroy us with debt.
If it’s not a plot then he is merely too stupid to see that debt will destroy us.
He writes of enlightenment, science intellect reason as alternatives to superstition dogma bigotry.
When it seems that you can classify everything good on one side and everything bad on the other it’s usually time to check your “theory” against reality.
It will be a nice trick if Republicans can make the debt and job losses look like Obama’s fault.
The fact that it looks like that is Obama’s fault because he claimed that his “stimulus”/cronyism and so on would create jobs when in fact it generally only seems to create more power for politicians and more corruption.
Obama has racked up more deficit in his first year and a half than Bush did in eight years.
The joblessness and debt are Obama’s fault. His stimulus, his budgets and his lack of leadership have turned a recession into a depression and driven unemployment from 7.6% to over 9.5% for over a year. He’s driven the annual deficit from the $457 billion that existed when he took office to two straight years of over $1.3 trillion.
He explicitly promised us that none of this would happen if we followed his plan. In fact if we failed to heed him, he tried to terrorize us with threats that the recession would become “irreversible.”
Well, it’s all happened, and worse. And Obama is responsible for it.
The best way to defeat the Obama agenda would be to vote in the Republican primary for the candidate who can win the general election, and that would be Castle, not “I can’t count counties” O’Donnell. She is unelectable. Castle is one more R in the fight to take back the Senate. End of analysis.
SF
This time I agree with you about voting in the primary but seemed to have chosen the wrong candidate again. Oh Well, you always seem to be doing that.
Frank has it right. Christine O’Donnell is the right candidate. She will vote with the republicans and actually read a bill before she signs it. She will vote to overturn Obamacare and much much more.
O’Donnell is one more “R” in the fight to take back the Senate. The analysis has just started.
Let’s all get out and vote for Christine O’Donnell for Senate on Sept 14.
Michael, I guess you never checked the Treasury Department numbers? Just go the the Congressional Budget Office, The White House OMB, The Treasury Department, any of the official debt clock site. Look for “historical data”. There’s no doubt the previous President inherited a surplus and turned it into record breaking mind numbing debt. I suppose you don’t like counting the $700 billion dollar TARP the previous President initiated to shore up the banks and AIG? So much for deficits.
When it comes to national debt it’s pretty simple. Bush and Cheyney still hold the all time record for adding to the national debt. You sound like you think the previous administration did a good job and all was well before the new President took over. Being a conservative is one thing, but denying the collapse is about as far out as it gets.
Think, you’re not thinking. Are you so willing to ignore the fact that every penny President Bush distributed in the TARP program was returned prior to the end of the fiscal year, with interest and a dividend?
I use nothing but historical data in slaying the hippocrisy of the secular socialist left.
There is no doubt that the budget was in surplus when Bush took office for three straight years. He had one balance budget himself before the stock market collapse he inherited from Clinton and the post 9/11 recession wiped it out.
Are you going to deny that historical fact? That Bill Clinton inherited the strongest economy of any post World War II peacetime president…and left his successor a train wreck?
Look at 2009. Start with the $457 billion deficit Obama inherited. Add $872 billion in stimulus and increase all other domestic non security discretionary spending by seventeen percent. That’s how you get to $1.4 trillion in deficits in just one year. Add in six more months of it and you find Obama has run up more deficits in eighteen months than Bush did in eight years.
Remember Think, I’m talking about deficits, not debt. Stay on subject. The only reason Obama is not already the all time debt champion as well is because he’s turned the recession into a depression, with round two right around the corner. When the economy is down, we don’t import as much. Recessions are good for trade gaps, which also add to the debt.
Those are the facts and as Casey Stengel would say, you can look’em up.
Now who’s “as far out as it gets.”
Oh..one post script. Don’t give me any secular socialist garbage about Obama just showing up and finding this mess at his doorstep. He was a United States Senator for four years and could have blocked any Bush era spending bill he found objectionable. If he was not there, then he owes the Treasury a refund for his four years of Senate salary and benefits.
Borgia – you are posting this from inside some kind of institution, right?
Michael, you’re way way off when you say every penny of TARP money was returned by the end of that FY?
http://www.sigtarp.gov/reports/congress/2010/April2010_Quarterly_Report_to_Congress.pdf.
There you will find that as of March 2010 $180 billion has been returned to treasury. AIG alone still owes $100 billion. But the new Administration seems to be doing a decent job of collecting from folks. The good news is TARP seemed to work. The banks did not collapse. We did not all lose our money like back in the 1930′s. I was a hard pill for President Bush to swallow, government equity intervention, having to bail out GM all of that. But he did what needed to be done. Hope that does not sound leftist to you.
What is a secular socialist left anyway? Are you saying that because I have a different view of the numbers than you do, hold to a different explanation as to the causes of our deficit/debt situation, the role of Bush and Obama, I am somehow a member of the secular socialist left? What is that about?
Secular connotes a person with no religious or spiritual bearing. I consider myself very spiritual, not at all socialist, certainly not a leftist. I was raised, educated Catholic have only voted Democratic once. I am a fiscal conservative, very much a foreign policy hawk. I always thought a leftist was a person who thinks capitalism is bad, and some kind of government run industry would be better. That’s not for me. I am a pro-business small business guy. Runs in the family. My dad, my brother, my son, my father in law, my uncles, all entrepreneurs. All did very well. Love working hard, going to church, making money. We know how to run a business. So when you say secular socialist leftist? Not a bit. Even don’t mind paying taxes. We are a very civic minded bunch. Win or lose we believe in abiding by the results of our national elections, showing due respect to the winners.
You lump people and numbers together in some pretty strange ways with that secular socialist left stuff. Unfortunately that’s because you’re basically parroting the abusive absurd language you learned from talk radio and cable TV. People in real life rarely talk like that. When you actually talk one on one, with real people about real issues, that kind of offhand slur, the gratuitous insults, name calling, stereotyping, really just sounds just plain dumb. Obnoxious is probably a better word.
President Bush, the President I voted for twice, did a lousy job with our finances. Cut taxes, then went on a spending spree. Medicare Drug benefits, no mechanism to pay for them, Homeland Security, no way to pay for it, two wars no way to pay for them. All big bold expense stuff all done on debt. I really don’t understand what you beef is when we say Bush left us, all Americans, a real fiscal mess.
Christine O’Donnell’s people sunk her at the Hispanic festival in Millsboro……..
any person within earshot….that incudes orgs nearby and that includes the event organizers that had to remind them of their obigations to the event and event attendees – where horrified by their attitude and behavior
the fact that not one of her reps could speak on her policy and wanted an email written to her staff regarding said policy shows me her inability to select a good staff – which shows bad judgement – not someone I would vote for – and then to insult the Latino community on top of it – at a Latino festival???? smooth move – real class act there.
Basicially she is to Castle what Nadar was to Al Gore – so from where I stand – Go Christine voters – get out there and vote for her and win that primary – Coons will then dismantle you….
This is getting fun. Now they’re coming after me in tag teams.
You complain about the finances of protecting the homeland, fighting the terrorists abroad instead of here, and spending billions on prescription drugs instead of trillions on catastrophic care. You evidently know nothing of what it means to be a fiscal conservative or a foreign policy hawk. Your own complaints betray you.
Explain to me then how President Bush slashed the federal deficit by 2/3rds in just four years? At least Bush did big bold things. Obama has done nothing but bankrupt the nation paying off favors to unions and other cronies.
Nice family story, but it means little when you hide behind a screen name. Why don’t you let me know who you are so some of that can be verified. If I hid behind a psuedonym, I could make up about anything I wanted. I will only judge you by the ideas you post, not the stories you write. I for one am proud of what I believe in and have no reservations about letting you know who I am.
The secular socialist left is the cabal presently running the House, Senate and White House that has abandoned the Christian principiles on which this nation was founded and on which it has thrived for centuries in exchange for the value free socialism that is destroying Europe. That’s what you and your kind keep espousing here in all your posts. So please spare me the nonsense about being a fiscal conservative.
Why do you complain about the movement being called what it is? It is secular and it is socialist. Period. Call me what I am. I am a conservative and darned proud of it.
How can anyone claim the mantle of fiscal conservatism by attacking President Bush, but supporting President Obama, who has run up as much deficit in 18 months as Bush did in eight years? And Alpha thinks I’m writing from an institution. You guys only get funnier and funnier.
As for the article you posted, you only prove my point. Go read it what you post before you put it out there. Those who complain about Bush and TARP are too quick to forget that TARP was administered in two separate halves. Bush managed half, Obama managed half. In short form, all the money still outstanding was distributed by the Obama Administration. Given away to unions at GM and Chrysler, AIG and other Obama campaign donors. But as your tag team partner Alpha will tell you, I don’t do other peoples homework for them.
You ask what my beef is about Bush leaving a mess. My beef is that is a lie. Bush warned Congress for five years as many as thirty six times that Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac required reform. Their implosion is the one and only trigger that caused the near collapse of the banking system. When the Senate finally pushed a reform bill to the floor in 2005, it was killed in a filibuster. Had that bill passed, there would have been no collapse, no recession, no ten percent unemployment. And one of the gang of forty four who pulled the trigger on this disaster was Senator Barack Obama. Thank God we had Bush to act quickly and save the banking system, before we all wound up living in Hoovervilles. Obama would still be debating it today if he had been president during that harrowing time. Oddly enough, he actually tried to take credit for Bush’s achievement.
Now I’m going to put my son to sleep. He’ll sleep tonight in a nation that is safer from terrorism and has a sound and secure banking system because of George W. Bush.
Michael:
The same gang that’s coming after you has mixed reactions to everything. I guess it’s a click. If you ain’t in it, no matter what your research is, it won’t be good enough.
The only thing that I know for sure that they agree on after watching several weeks of their comments and posts, is their hatred of Christine O’Donnell, spurred on by their fearless leader, the wonderful TW.
the Christian principiles on which this nation was founded and on which it has thrived for centuries
You have got to be kidding. Europeans thought the Founders were godless free thinkers. They were half right.
in exchange for the value free socialism that is destroying Europe.
Somebody forgot to tell them they are being destroyed:
“Unemployment in Germany fell for the 13th straight month in July, as the jobless rate edged down to 7.6 percent – a 20-month low – from 7.7 percent.”
“The number of unemployed people in Britain has fallen by the largest amount for three years, official data showed on Wednesday, in a sign that the nation’s economic recovery is strengthening.”
“Financial daily Les Echos is upbeat this morning as it delivers the good news that unemployment figures in France are down. ”
And the thing is, when you have a social democracy, unemployment doesn’t become a life-changing event where you lose your health care and your marriage and your home and your children’s education.
Ours is a Christian nation….to which I refer you to writings of the Founders too numerous to mention…The Supreme Court In Holy Trinity vs. United States…
It’s funny that the three nations you cite that are beginning to show signs of recovery, particularly Germany, all have elected leaders in the mold of President Bush. And all have told Barack Obama what to go do with himself in response to his demands for high deficit “stimulative” spending.
If anything by the way, losing your job in Europe is more devastating than it is in the United States because there is no relief from the crushing tax burden, especially the value added taxes that send the prices of everything soaring.
Not that Euro-socialist health care is of any benefit either when you have to go to the United States to avoid waiting a year for cancer surgery.
Germany by the way is openly debating for the first time since unification…the early one in 1871…allowing private health insurance.
Boy, you sure put that one on a tee.
Fore!!!!
To the dopes who say there was a surplus when Bush took over, you are wrong and dumb. The non existent Social Security Trust Fund was figured into the ‘surplus’. Sort of like saying the three credit cards I have happen to have $5,000 credit limit on each on them so that means I have $15,000.
When Mercedes Marxists throw barbs at Bush you know you have won the argument. Obama became President on Jan 20 2009 but has yet to be President. Liberals are liars and fools.
The cowardly attacks on O’Donnell by the GOP pseudo elites is tragic, In 2008 the convention made her the Nominee, now they hit her in the head with a 2′x4′. No wonder the GOP has lost its way, zero loyalty and zero principles.
And all have told Barack Obama what to go do with himself in response to his demands for high deficit “stimulative” spending.
Except that when European countries cut their deficits, they still have public health care, public higher education, and long-term unemployment benefits.
Think – during the 12 years the Reps controlled congress, the average deficit was 2%, the highest ever was 3.2% for one year during the recession, and they left it at 1.2%.
How high is it now? Make sure you add that extra digit. How high does Obama project it to be over the next 10 years even with overly rosy economic assumptions? Your defense of Obama-Pelosi-Reid (this is a congressional election) has no basis in the numerical facts.
The problem is the idea that the size and power of government should grow endlessly and forever. That is the root cause of problems at the state, national, and international levels. It is a plague and it must be defeated. Where do Obama-Pelosi-Reid stand on the issue of growing government? Where do nearly 100% of elected congressional Democrats stand? The majority of Democrat voters?
Obama-Pelosi-Reid deserve plenty of blame for the current situation (as does Barney Frank). Their ideology is responsible for causing the current mess and their policies over the past 19 months have made it worse. The stimulus and health care bills were horrendous policy and Finance “reform” completely ignores Fannie and Freddie, root causes of the current situation. Along with pending tax increases, they all stifle growth and increase unemployment.
Based on all of that, if you understand the problem of growing government and want to fix it, it’s masochistic to vote for Democrats on the national level. Hopefully, they will suffer a well deserved humiliation in November.
The GOP has lost their way. Nationally it is people like Sarah Palin getting on the stump for conservative candidates across the country, that has started to make a difference. Come to Delaware Sarah!!!!
Let’s not forget the Tea Party style organizations and Delaware’s 9-12 Patriots. These are conservative organizations and they are starting to influence the GOP from within by filling positions as committeepersons around the country. They provide a platform for candidates to speak and make their views be known.
The GOP is being roused from a deep slumber of supporting left of center candidates and for the first time they feel threatened from within.
The sleeping giant of American constitutionalists and conservatives has finally awakened and realizes that it may be too late.
National media figures like Glen Beck and Rush Limbaugh have been raising the alarm for quite a while and are now being listened to by more than the far right fringers.
I’ve seen people self-educating themselves on the constitution, The Bill of Rights and the election system. People have begun challenging the legislators on their bad voting records and have spoken out at town hall meetings.
The sleeping giant of well-fed complacent citizens has arisen from their stupor and now are aware of the direction that the current socialist regime it taking their country, and they don’t like it. And neither do I!!!!!!
We all have different ideas, but we all agree that we want our country to stay a Free Republic and not a socialist state where we have no rights.
That’s why I’m willing to take a chance on the best and not settle for second best. What I mean by that statement. is that I consider Mike Castle SECOND BEST. He has lost his edge and won’t vote for keeping America free any more. He can’t be trusted and has proved it with his voting record.
I’m willing to support a person that will do the right thing. She will vote for legislation that benefits Americans. And I trust her to do the job that she says she will do.
I only hope we can make a difference in this election and stop the Obama Regime from enacting two more years of damaging legislation. WAKE UP PEOPLE AND SMELL THE FECES OF THIS REGIME. YOU WANTED CHANGE, WELL YOU GOT IT.
Vote for CHISTINE O’DONNELL ON SEPT 14.
alpha says,”Except that when European countries cut their deficits, they still have public health care, public higher education, and long-term unemployment benefits.” You left out that they have really high tax rates and very low self determination.
alpha you have just agreed that Pres. Obama is a European style socialist. He has installed a public health care system, he has taken over the student loan industry, which could lead to the so called public higher education system, and he has overseen the never ending extention of un-employment benefits.
The question is, do we want to become a European style socialist nation? My answer would be no, what about you alpha?
In just the three examples you used, you have given up your individual responsibility, but more importantly, you have given up your individual Liberty.
People who take the time to think, can see the direction this nation is headed, under this president and his legion within congress. some may call it secular socialism, some may call it fascism, but all can agree that the United States of America is on a path away from its founding principles.
This nation was founded with the belief that the individual’s Liberty was an inherent right, that we were all born with certain rights. As we as a nation and a people have begun to seek answers not from within ourselves, but from some government agency, we have given away many of those rights. If we are to turn this nation back towards its founding principles, then we must secure the right of personal Liberty, we do this by insisting that we are allowed to make the life chnging choices for ourselves, and not to be forced into public helath care, public higher education, and to refuse to become a slave to the state through the new welfare program of un-ending un-employment benefits.
To do this we need people in national office that will protect our rights and the Constitution. We need people who have not been in Washington for eighteen years, while the nation has been on this road to socialism, and who did more to move us away from our founding principles, than they did to protect them. Mike Castle has been a part of this moderate move to the left, it is time to move back to the right and Mike Castle is not the person to do this. He has shown a growing tendency to vote with the Democrats on the big issues, almost as if he is planning a Spector moment.
Though many of us believe he changed parties many years ago, he just forgot to send in the paper work.
When the GOP voters go into that booth on Sept. 14th to decide the nominee for U.S. Senate in the GOP primary. There is one question and one question only that they should be asking themselves. In the current political climate, who is the best candidate that the GOP could put forth to stave off this march towards a socialist system that Pres. Obama is currently leading? I believe that honest people can answer only one way, Christine O’Donnell.
Groucho Marx: “Who are you going to believe, me, or your own two eyes?”
Obamanomics is a complete disaster, and everybody knows it. Nobody believes BO’s bulls#!t anymore- he has been tuned-out, and he’s rapidly becoming irrelevant.
2010- “Creation out of Destruction!”
1-20-2013…The End Of An Error…
Public health care is no health care at all when you have to go to the United States and pay for critical surgery out of your own pocket, or wait to die in Europe..
Public higher education is considered a laughingstock in most European nations. Americans can get loans to attend the best universities in the world and have generous repayment terms.
Long term unemployment benefits are what secular socialists provide as a dependency because their policies don’t create jobs.
Add it all up and you find that most of Europe is being taxed into “bleak prosperity,” where few have more than the essentials of life and more and more young people can’t find work.
Since Reagan ended confiscatory taxation in America, the United States has created some seventy million new jobs. Europe as a whole has created less than five million. And nearly all of them have been in government.
Rampaging debt, rampaging taxes, most of the continent at permanent ten percent unemployment. That’s what secular socialism has done to Europe. The Germans, pretty much always Europe’s most disciplined society, have come to the conclusion that Reagan got it right and elected one of their own, and to a second term with a parliament that will work with her vision. And Germany is reaping the fruit of that decision. Unemployment that was considered normal at ten percent, has fallen into the mid sevens.
For decades, Europe was looking for its Ronald Reagan. Now with secular socialism threatening the prosperity of American children, we are now looking for our Angela Merkel.
Michael, I am not sure what your “Bush reduced the deficit” is about. I’m just citing the fact he added $6 trillion to our national debt, and was the first President in modern times to declare an economic emergency requiring the Treasury Department to purchase equity positions in heretofore private corporations. No way to dodge that.
Your assertion that “every penny” of TARP was paid off is totally wrong. At least get the basics right. Can you explain why you think every penny of TARP was repaid in 2009?
You’re being fanatic about something that really does not call for being a fanatic. It’s just national politics. Public policy. Fiscal policy.
When it comes to American politics, being blindly loyal to anything is dangerous.
If you want to be blindly loyal, if you enjoy spitting and insulting, pick a sports team. Paint your face green and go nuts.
It does not help recruit folks to the conservative side when anybody not with your program is a secular socialist leftist. Makes your side sound crazy.
I hope you know it sounds nuts for you to say that you are a Godly man of God while those of us who don’t agree with you are Godless secularites. That pretty much kicks the shit out of anything else you have to say.
That whole bit about the secular socialist left is a figment of imagination.
A product of years of listening to the same radio station. Everybody knows how it works. Create an imaginary enemy, set yourself up as the hero who saves us. The oldest trick in the book for gathering the masses. You are a victim. Part of the easily manipulated masses demagogues dream about. There is no secular socialist left, there is no fascist Christian right. There’s only us. We are still the people.
If you “non-secular” spiritual, you need to consider atonement. You total disrespect for others defies the spirit Christianity calls for.
The name calling and fanatic politics is starting to remind me of Jews versus Arabs. Is that what the Tea Party wants for America? I thought America was supposed to be a tolerant society where you respect the views of others, abide by our national elections. Go to the middle east if you want to be crazy politics fanatics.
Your God is pretty weak if you think a bunch of liberals can kick Him out of government.
God is in government no matter what you do. But he didn’t plan a career in politics for his Son.
Sometimes, like those folks on the Poseidon were going DOWN to the TOP of their capsized ship, you got to pass by those like commenters whose names being with THINK…an oxymoron that…who insist on going UP to the bottom of the ship.
They have their own version of the truth and they like it that way. No reason why we have to follow them…even when their own leaders swears that if we do it his way unemployment will cap out at 8% they love the lies and don’t want to hear the truth.
Move along. Let the THINKing ones here keep going to the bottom of the ship….even as they march upwards in their belief that their way is to the truth.
No reason why we have to let them pull us down.
The Ross guy puts out a press release lambasting Christine O’Donnell…gotta love it. This is a candidate that the GOP endorsed just two years ago…
WERE THEY LYING THEN OR ARE THEY LYING NOW??
All to save Mike Castle….a steadfast Conservative that one.
And they wonder why all across the fruited plains they are being gratuitously given the boot.
Heh.
Am I the only one who is tired of hearing about Europe? They do this, they do that, blah blah blah. Bunch of snail munching, Speedo wearing snobs if you ask me. Guess what else Europe does? Rely on us for the past 100 years to fix their colossal screw-ups. WWI, WWII, Cold War, War on Terror and now trying to fix a global recession. Spare me on the whole Europe cutting their budget and keeping their public services crap, they’ve been relying on us for their security which means that half of them spend nothing on defense. And they still have tax rates near 50%, I’d rather live in Antarctica.
Think
Never in any post did I claim to be a Godly man of God. You made that up in your head.
Let me help you with Bush and deficits. In 2003, when Bush’s tax cuts became fully implemented, the federal deficit was $425 billion. Four years later, it was $147 billion. Can you understand that? That’s a 2/3rds reduction in four years, brought about by tax cuts and economic growth.
It should be pointed out that I’m not from this area, would never paint my face green and do not spit at anyone. I’ve been called many things, both good and bad by both professional bloggers and amateur ranters. “Fanatic” is not one of them. If you think that, you’re not reading what I’m writing.
The secular socialist left is a figment of my imagination? Why don’t you tell that to the 500,000 people who turned out at the Lincoln Memorial yesterday. Or to the two million who watch Beck daily? Or to the twenty million Americans who are out of work long term because of what Obama has done. You want to bury your head in the sand and pretend it does not exist. That’s what Obama siren song is all about. Ignore what you see. All that matters is hope and change. Pretending there is not a secular socialist movement that has hijacked the once great Democratic Party is how we got into this mess. And ignoring its existence further will not make it go away.
Read what I wrote about TARP before you criticize it. Every penny of TARP money distriubted by the Bush Administration, repeat…the Bush Administration…has been repaid in full with interests and a divident. The very source you posted bears that out. Only the funds distributed by the Obama Administration have yet to be repaid. And those hundreds of billions in borrowed money are gone for good. Only in that regard are you even partially right.
Pat…thanks for the kind advice. But part of the reason we’re in this hole is because a lot of people like “Think” were allowed to tell these lies over and over again without challenge. If you let it go on long enough, it becomes the truth. And those who do dare to challenge them are simply labelled “fanatics” or worse. It’s Democratic Politics 101. And then were left to wonder how a $437 billion federal deficit now seems like the good old days and why $1.3 trillion deficits are considered the “new normal.” No more. It’s time for good people of conscience to fight back against them. I’ll confess to having sat back a little too long myself.
No more.
It’s not fanaticism to fight them. It’s patriotism. Nancy Pelosi herself said so.
Why is Castle running from Christine O’Donnell?
I found this interesting article posted in http://www.redstate.com and thought it would be a great addition to the thread.

If Mike Castle becomes the next United States Senator from Delaware he is going to get sworn in, serve a bit, then become a Democrat, resign, and let Beau Biden get an appointment.
It’s a done deal. The deal has been made already. I’m hearing this not just from Christine O’Donnell people, but party regulars in Delaware, some of whom support Castle. It is insane.
Maybe that is why Mike Castle is running from Christine O’Donnell. He is afraid to have to answer questions about this. The man will not debate her to save his life.
In fact, Christine O’Donnell, unlike Mike Castle, is actually ahead of the Democrat in the polls in Delaware. Read that sentence again people because too many of you think we must support Castle to win the seat.
Christine O’Donnell is ahead of the Democrat in the polls.*
Mike Castle is not.
And here’s another dirty little secret Mike Castle would prefer you not know. This election? It’s a special election. Whoever wins it gets sworn in immediately. Immediately as in prior to any lame duck session of Congress.
In a lame duck session of Congress, would you rather have Christine O’Donnell or Mike Castle? One of the two will defend freedom. The other will become a Democrat.
Your choice.
——–
Last polling I saw in the race had O’Donnell ahead. That was about two weeks ago. I see from some commenters that this is no longer the case. Still, do we really trust that Castle can beat the Dem before becoming one?
WJ, c’mon, if you’re going to post something and try to state it as fact, as least do the research. Castle is ahead of Coons 49% to 37%), O’Donnell behind Coons (36%, which is approximately what she got in 2008, to 46%) in the latest Rasmussen polling. Moreover, in the Rasmussen poll, O’Donnell is viewed negatively by 38% of those polled, while Coons is at 33% and Castle at 27%.
(http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/elections/election_2010/election_2010_senate_elections/delaware/toplines/toplines_delaware_senate_august_5_2010).
Either you haven’t looked recently or you are trying to mislead folks. Indeed, the redstate “blog” you quote is from 8/2/10–almost one month ago and before the last poll involving O’Donnell–and is already outdated. The redstate post has also already been thoroughly discredited.
Ironically, while the O’Donnell camp wants to spread false rumors about Castle switching parties, etc., the truth comes out that it was little miss perfect herself who was secretly seeking the nomination of the Constitution Party. A bit hypocritical, it seems to me (although I’m sure all the O’Donnell supporters will have some way to explain away yet another O’Donnell problem, just like they can wave some magical wand to make her mortgage problems, employment problems, FEC problems, her college degree problems, etc., etc., go away (in their own minds)).
As to who I’d like in the Senate, Castle or O’Donnell, I’ll go with someone who can count and isn’t lying to out-of-state tea party groups about the number of counties she won in the 2008 election to try and garner their support (as you’ll recall, O’Donnell claims to have won two counties but in fact won none). It’s a purely hypothetical question, though, because there is no way–none–that O’Donnell could ever win the general election with all her baggage. While the O’Donnell diehard supporters are apparently willing to overlook the many problems which Miss O’Donnell brings with her, the general electorate would never be quite so forgiving. It’s a shame, because a credible more conservative candidate, without such baggage, might have been able to win a general election in this environment.
Ironically, while the O’Donnell camp wants to spread false rumors about Castle switching parties, etc., the truth comes out that it was little miss perfect herself who was secretly seeking the nomination of the Constitution Party.
I guess that’s supposed to be a bad thing. Perhaps if Castle was secretly trying to switch to the Libertarian or Constitution Party then I would consider voting for him.
…I’m sure all the O’Donnell supporters will have some way to explain away yet another O’Donnell problem…
Even her supposed problems apparently all stem from her being poor, i.e. not part of the ruling class.
As to who I’d like in the Senate, Castle or O’Donnell, I’ll go with someone who can count…
The old GOP always suggests that because you think that you’re more intelligent and so on. Somehow I doubt that you are. Yet like progressives you tend to have a fetish for mere intelligence when what is needed in Washington often has little to do with intelligence. There are plenty of smart people among the ruling class doing stupid things thanks to their corruption, arrogance, false view of the world and so on. And there are plenty of people outside the ruling class who could correct many problems based on a true view of the world and simple principles. I would debate the point typical to the old establishment that the outsider is not as intelligent as the supposedly intelligent planners who can use their intellects to run our lives but it’s irrelevant.
It’s a shame, because a credible more conservative candidate, without such baggage, might have been able to win a general election in this environment.
I don’t believe you. There will always be something that the establishment finds to try to destroy the outsider’s credibility in order to justify its claim that its corruption is the only way.
Why won’t O’Donnell pay campaign manager David Keegan the money she owes him from 2008? Why didn’t she pay campaign manager Kristen Murray in 2008 and told her that she would be unemployable in Delaware if she told anyone?
SF
figger this:
You’ve been in hiding today but I’m glad you’ve put your sorry pen hand to use.
These rumors have been circulating for over a month and I do believe that Tom Ross and the Top Elephants have cut a deal with Mike Castle and the democrats. I wish I could prove it, but I certainly believe that there is money involved. Why else would Ross sell republicans down the river, if not to feather his own nest. Well his is an elected position also.
First of all why is Castle running scared from O’Donnell. Could it be that she has the goods on the backstabbing deal that Erick Erickson states in his post on Redstate.com.
I think Castle is hoping to make it to the primaries without being found out. He has no honor; his voting record proves that. He’s proved beyond a doubt that this is the kind of stunt he would gladly pull.
At this point, Stossel Fan, I believe that you would do or say anything to dump on O’Donnell including streeeeeching the truth beyond its snapping limit.
I don’t think you really like Castle as a candidate, you just HATE O’Donnell so much you must have to carry tums around in your pocket.
I’m sure that you’re incensed with anything printed in O’Donnell’s favor but that’s tough.
Just think of that turncoat turning democrat and Beau Biden being appointed as out next senator. The Biden Dynasty would be preserved. Well, we are not living in feudal England The backroom deals that are being made in Delaware are reprehensible.
Many other people are also convinced that some kind of deal went down but aren’t certain of the details.
I thought America was supposed to be a tolerant society where you respect the views of others, abide by our national elections. Go to the middle east if you want to be crazy politics fanatics.
Great example of liberal ‘tolerance.’
As to Socialist Europe, the only question is what comes first- total economic collapse, Sharia law, or another Hitler?
God is in government no matter what you do. But he didn’t plan a career in politics for his Son.
Actually he planned for Him to be the King of kings and so on. As Aristotle pointed out the best political system is a Monarchy if the monarch is truly benevolent.
The Founders combined all systems, monarchy/president, aristocracy/senate and democracy/house and set them against each other in order to limit government itself. That’s because free men want the opportunity to govern themselves, unlike the leftist Herd that wants to be blind to the impact of God on Nature and therefore the body politic. Their view of the world contrasts with that of the Founders’:
God who gave us life gave us liberty. And can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God?
–Thomas Jefferson
Contrast that with the actions of the ACLU and the Left in general.
” including streeeeeching the truth beyond its snapping limit.”
Well we know Christine would NEVER do that… oh, wait. I mean saying Castle is switching parties when it makes no sense and with no evidence is just innocent speculation…
“Even her supposed problems apparently all stem from her being poor, i.e. not part of the ruling class.”
Nah, more to do with lying about all of her personal problems. People would be empathetic if she were open and honest about it. Instead, she lies about everything and never takes blame for anything. She’s arrogant, delusional and dishonorable.
Why won’t O’Donnell pay campaign manager David Keegan the money she owes him from 2008?
Wanda said in one of her articles, “He’s listed as still being owed $528 from O’Donnell’s 2008 campaign.”
I’d pay that just to stop the sniveling about it. It seems like people are arguing about things just because they don’t like each other personally anymore. It’s interesting how all the big ideas and supposedly high minded moral motivation go out the window if there’s a dispute or someone doesn’t get paid. It makes you wonder if anyone actually believes anything.
Why didn’t she pay campaign manager Kristen Murray in 2008 and told her that she would be unemployable in Delaware if she told anyone?
If the other dispute is about $500 is that dispute about $400?
Mynym
What does that stand for? My New York Minute? Clearly you don’t know her former campaign manager and just how much money she is owed. I worked on the COD campaign in 2008. Where were you?
I mean saying Castle is switching parties when it makes no sense and with no evidence is just innocent speculation…
Not at all, it’s a political attack rooted in the reality of Castle’s voting record. After all, if the GOP ever becomes “extreme” enough to actually do anything with respect to cutting government someone like Mike Castle saying: “As the Republican Party has moved farther and farther to the right, I have found myself increasingly at odds with the Republican philosophy and more in line with the philosophy of the Democratic Party.” is not that hard to imagine.
Nah, more to do with lying about all of her personal problems.
It would be interesting to compare how the News Journal made use of the supposed public/political and private/personal split in the case of Bill Clinton’s personal problems vs. O’Donnell’s. After all, supposedly it all doesn’t matter because it’s just personal and private affairs.
But anyway, I’m not seeing it. A dispute over $500? Is that really worth talking about? The establishment demands compromise on basic principles and values yet then apparently demands that someone be pure as the driven snow in all things. I do not believe that you will only vote for a politician that has never told a lie and so on.
Lying to voters about having a college degree is not a personal issue. Neither is questionable use of campaign funds. These are public issues that are going to be scrutinized when you run for public office. If Christine doesn’t like it she should find another line of work, assuming she can.
As to Socialist Europe, the only question is what comes first- total economic collapse, Sharia law, or another Hitler?
I think they are going to have a few more generations of contentedness first.
What does that stand for? My New York Minute? Clearly you don’t know her former campaign manager and just how much money she is owed.
That’s why I asked you given that the other debt was reported to be about $500. I’m sure it’s quite terrible, whatever it is.
I worked on the COD campaign in 2008. Where were you?
Apparently you may as well have worked at McDonald’s if it’s more important to you that someone get paid $500.00 and so on than that a pro-life candidate gets elected. It’s interesting how all the big ideas, all the supposed moral motivation and so on can go out the window based on little things in life. But that’s politics.
Lying to voters about having a college degree is not a personal issue.
The News Journal article doesn’t say that she lied about it. I still do not believe that you will supposedly not vote for a politician that has lied. I think you’re not voting based on the herd mentality which typically gets incumbents elected. Everything else is merely a justification.
Neither is questionable use of campaign funds.
That’s questionable. Yet I do not believe that you would never vote for a politician whose use of campaign funds is questionable.
These are public issues that are going to be scrutinized when you run for public office.
Just to be clear, you would never vote for a politician that has lied?
If Christine doesn’t like it she should find another line of work, assuming she can.
Apparently there is no reason that she couldn’t have found another line of better paying work as apparently working for a charity would pay better. It matters little, this is all just political muckraking. I find the style of it more interesting than the substance. One theme is that she’s not intelligent and so on, yet it seems to me that the old establishment is not.
I’m sure I’ve voted for a politician who has lied before. I’ve also never done it for anybody who has so blatantly disregarded the truth. Then when caught in these lies, DENIES to the end that they ever happened. Christine refuses to atone for her mistakes, or have any sort of personal accountability politically or in her life. I also try not to vote for those who I feel are incompetent, and self-serving to represent me in public office. We have had Joe Biden’s moronic self embarrassing us for decades and now you want to send a walking future ethics violation to hold a Senate seat?
Seems to me like you are basically going to support Christine no matter what she does. Explain away the bad, try to marginalize it, say that she doesn’t have to live by the values she wants to hold us to, etc. She sounds like Ted “do as I say not as I do” Kennedy.
Ignore reality all you want, Christine is a bad candidate and a dishonest person. She’s very lucky Castle isn’t attacking her or this would look like a Comedy Central roast.
O’Donnell didn’t receive her degree after earning it because she still owed tuition. This is something that happens all the time. I’ve seen it because I graduated from the U. of D. and had friends that didn’t receive their diplomas until they payed up. This is how Universities are assured of their payment.
She earned the diploma and did the work but simply didn’t have the money at the time to pay up.
This is quite a bit different than lying but you O’Donnell haters don’t want to hear the truth.
I’ve also never done it for anybody who has so blatantly disregarded the truth. Then when caught in these lies, DENIES to the end that they ever happened.
All I’ve read is the News Journal article and they didn’t say anything about lies, what other stunning revelations have there been? Let me guess, she was once late on a credit card payment, etc… and that just goes to show that she will increase the deficit.
I also try not to vote for those who I feel are incompetent…
Why do you feel that she is incompetent? It seems like that’s a common feeling about conservative women, yet when you look at the “competence” of other politicians it’s not clear what the standard for politicians supposedly is.
Seems to me like you are basically going to support Christine no matter what she does.
Well, maybe if the debt had been $500,000 and she paid it back with money from a Colombian drug lord… but $500? I’m surprised that Cookie hasn’t claimed that she’s still owed $10 for a lunch at McDonald’s. In any event that’s all I could find about debts to old staffers in articles here.
Explain away the bad, try to marginalize it…
I don’t have to try to marginalize things which are actually marginal.
…say that she doesn’t have to live by the values she wants to hold us to, etc.
We don’t always live by the values that we want to hold ourselves to. I’ve read the News Journal article and if those are all the faults that the muckrakers have found so far, I’m fine with it. Is there more? Maybe my standards are too low because I’ll vote for a politician that has lied and one that has been self-serving. Politicians who are self-serving, who would have thought!
For all of the supposed realpolitik by which we are supposed to know that we must compromise core principles and values to elect the establishment candidate some supporters of such views seem unwilling to compromise their values. Indeed, they seem to have quite the tender moral sensibilities. Yet on the other hand, what would cause you not to support Mike Castle? If he lied or was self-serving would that be it for you? It seems to me that you think he is electable and that is all. The banality of politics and politicians in our day: “Elect me because I’m good at getting elected.”
She’s very lucky Castle isn’t attacking her or this would look like a Comedy Central roast.
Actually it seems that he’s refusing to debate her, which may be evidence that she’s competent.
O’Donnell didn’t receive her degree after earning it because she still owed tuition. This is something that happens all the time.
I’m new to this discussion but it already all seems rather overblown. When supporters of the GOP establishment invent these standards and arguments for a politician that they do not like they may have to be consistent in the future for the sake of their credibility. There seems to be only one real standard and that is electability. The standard incumbent argument: “It’s incumbent upon you to elect me. After all, I can get elected again!”
“She earned the diploma and did the work but simply didn’t have the money at the time to pay up.
This is quite a bit different than lying but you O’Donnell haters don’t want to hear the truth.”
When you say you are a college graduate and are not a college graduate that is a lie. You know how I paid for college, I held 2 jobs and paid off the debt I owed. I know that it happens all the time, and it usually isn’t an issue because the debt is usually paid off rather quickly. This has been going on for the better part of a decade and a half, and she’s been telling people she’s a college graduate. That’s just a lie, plain and simple.
Why do I feel that she is incompetent? Because she can’t even manage to balance her own personal finances yet wants to be put in charge of balancing a multi-trillion dollar budget without any prior track record of having the ability to do so.
Electability isn’t a hard standard to meet, the fact that she can’t and isn’t even close to being a viably electable candidate in the current political environment speaks volumes about her. I’d rather have a fiscal conservative in the Senate than Chris Coons, sadly I can’t say the same about you.
No GeorgeC, it is not a lie as much as you would like to think so. You perpetrate your lies on these people just because it’s a blog and you don’t have to back up your LIES.
She was a poor college student and couldn’t pay the bill at the time but wanted to better herself like most young people that are worth anything.
She wouldn’t be electable in your eyes because you can’t see past your nose. Hang it up for a while and find someone else to hate.
Well Obama CAN manage his own finances and manages to throw away trillions of dollars of our money. I go for O’Donnell’s version quicker than Obama’s or Castles.
I just realized that I’ve use Castle and Obama’s name in the same sentence. Well they belong together.
mynym
I Think you’ve hit the nail on the head. These people would never hold themselves to the standards that they hold other people to.
They play “gotcha politics” so they can look important. This young woman is running for the US Senate because she cares about America.
I don’t see GeorgeC, SF, TW or all the other naysayers doing something as patriotic as Christine O’Donnell.
However they are willing to jump on the bandwagon to stone her in the public square.
One of you without fault, please step forward and pick up the next stone because I would like to take lessons from a true master.
Is it any wonder that great people that would be wonderful legislators will not step forward into the arena of election politics. I don’t think that I would risk myself and my family’s well-being but Christine did. In my eyes that makes her a patriot.
Also, the standard I use on electability in these trying times is where the candidate truly stands on the issues. And on the issues, I agree with her and I believe she will be a great senator.
When you say you are a college graduate and are not a college graduate that is a lie. You know how I paid for college, I held 2 jobs and paid off the debt I owed.
When you say that you’ve earned a college degree because all your course work is done that’s not a lie.
Why do I feel that she is incompetent? Because she can’t even manage to balance her own personal finances….
So if the News Journal published a story about how Mike Castle was late on a credit card payment then you wouldn’t vote for him? It seems to me that you began with the only sound argument against O’Donnell, her ability to actually win and the rest of this is just political so it doesn’t have to be logical. Why bother? Just make the same arguments that incumbents always make and leave it at that.
….yet wants to be put in charge of balancing a multi-trillion dollar budget without any prior track record of having the ability to do so.
The ability to pay her debts has very little to do with balancing the national budget, one could just as easily make the opposite argument that unlike the rich aristocracy who have no problem spending in order to try to manipulate the “economy” she would be more likely to understand that it’s not just an abstraction.
WJ, give it up. You’re the one who “streeeeeetched” the truth when you said the latest poll showed O’Donnell up, when, in fact, the opposite is true. O’Donnell, not Castle, is the one who was trying to run on the ticket of another party. O’Donnell is the one who pays her own expenses but doesn’t pay her campaign workers (real class act there). O’Donnell is the one who said she didn’t know anything about the mortgage foreclosure action against her house (which, in and of itself is more than a little troubling), but then, lo and behold, court records show that she was personally served a copy of the foreclosure papers. O’Donnell is the one who said she won two counties in 2008, when, in fact, she won zip. O’Donnell is the one who has no legislative experience, no admistrative experience, and no executive experience. She was fired from her last job (which was years ago at this point), and her oh so successful consulting business grossed $5800 in the last year or so. And by the way, she ran a horrible campaign in 2008 and got utterly trounced. By any objective, rational measure she is a disgrace as a candidate.
As to Castle and the rumors, c’mon. Do you really think that Erickson has “the goods”? If he did, he would have shared them already. You claim I hate O’Donnell; not true, I just think she is utterly unqualified to be a United States Senator. You, however, clearly hate Castle to the point of irrationality and the willingness to believe, with no proof whatsoever, the most ridiculous and illogical claims.
Michael, I assumed you were a Godly man of God using the same logic you used to conclude I was a secular socialist leftist.
When I disagreed with the opinion on Bush deficit numbers was part of your reply.
Do you understand the meaning of the words you use. Secular means without religion or spiritual base. Socialist infers someone who opposed private ownership of business as in the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Leftist in sort of like someone who sympathizes with the goals of communists.
All I have been trying to do it to get you to acknowledge that the due to horrendous deficits the national debt just about doubled from $5 trillion to $10 trillion during the Bush Presidency. If a person cannot even come to grips with that simple truth, I say that is being a fanatic. Way to blindly loyal to their “side”.
I remember Glenn Beck when he was the shock jock with a show called the Morning Zoo. He made up all these character with funny voices. Asians, blacks, mexicans. He would have them talking funny saying stupid things so he could mock them. My wife and I stopped listening to Glenn Beck after he started hunting down low IQ people, calling convenient stores, finding somebody impaired, then he would mock their stupidity. As parents of a disabled child we had enough. But even after all the complaints about him from asians, black, mexicans, parents of retarded children he kept it up because his rating were going through the roof. I was not at all surprised when went on the air at Fox to declare our first black President a “racist” who “hates the white race” and a “Marxist”. That’s what greedy shock jocks like Beck and Howard Stern do for a living.
I now understand that Mr. Beck is now a Godly man of God. Keep you bookshelves filled with his writing, you TV tuned to his show, you mind filled with his thoughts, and you too came become a Godly and Great America.
There is only one thing keeping Obama from having the worst economic platform, and that is the Republican platform.
CBO has the numbers (via Newsweek), and they ain’t good for Republicans.
If Republicans somehow manage to implement their proposals, we get more unemployment and more deficits than projected under Obama’s policies.
How is it that you can denigrate Glenn Beck for having been a “shock jock?” I can but only hope you have similar disregard for Al Franken.
Nothing I have said about the secular socialist left in any way denigrates a huge number of the sixty five million Americans who voted for Obama. Many now have buyers remorse. And many of your “registered Democrats” if you actually talk to them, could not tell you how it happened. I once encountered an ex girlfriend who has voted straight Republican in general elections for her entire life, but never voted in a primary. She just recently found out she cannot vote in the Republican primary this year because she’s a registered Democrat. She never registered herself. Her father’s union did it for her.
I’m sorry you can not see that the policies driven by this president seek to move the nation away from the Christian values that have defined it for centuries and turn it into a secular, value free zone, using tolerance as a straw man to do so. Christians are mocked for intolerance while Muslims are made welcome to build a shrine in the shadow of where Muslims slaughtered three thousand innocent people.
I’m disappointed that you do not see the administration’s use of tax policy, health policy and financial policy for what they are. Tools of redistribution to steal hard earned income and wealth from those who have worked hard to earn it and give to those who have not. Or that you do not see the Administration’s efforts to nationalize such companies as GM, Chrysler and AIG. Or how it attempted to manipulate TARP to control the actions of major financial institutions by making the government de facto owners. That you let it slip by you that the government can now essentially seize any financial institution it wants without cause. It needs to only claim that the institution is a danger to the nation. And the bank gets no day in court, no appeal. Just because Obama has not ended private ownership of business cold turkey does not mean he is not incrementally moving in that direction.
Once upon a time, my pension contained GM stock. Not anymore. Obama and the unions have taken it from me.
No one but an idiot can deny how much the national debt increased under President Bush. About six trillion dollars. But barely one third of that is due to federal deficits during the Bush years. Deficits added only $2.2 trillion to the deficit. Nearly all the rest comes from our trade gap. Part of that is due to the fact that during most of the Bush years, we were in a boom economy and imported a lot more than we exported, particularly oil. The rest is due to the restrictive trade practices of many of our partners. Presidents Bush and Clinton pioneered the use of free trade agreements to reduce the problem, but the secular-socialist element of the Democratic Party blocked many such efforts. Free trade agreements with Colombia and South Korea continue to languish in the Senate today.
Today, the Obama depression limits our need to import. It has also restrained the price of oil. Were that not the case, not only would Obama have run up more budget deficit than any president in history in just eighteen months, he would also already be the all time debt leader too.
I don’t hold President Bush up fanatically as an infallible leader. He made mistakes. He gave in too quickly to Democrats and accepted a phased in approach to tax cuts rather than an all in approach. He delayed too long the Iraq surge. His 2005 decision to prioritize Social Security reform over tax reform was his worst political miscalculation. His decision to retire the Space Shuttle without having an adequate replacement will have foreign and domestic policy repurcussions for decades. He was not perfect. But his legacy will always be a positive one. He confronted crises head on and kept the nation safe. Both from the terrorists abroad and from the financial crises within.
He was a very good president. And a good conservative. He rallied the nation against two crises that no president in most of our lifetimes has had to endure. And he brought us through them both. History in the end will give him proper vindication and proper reverence.
the government can now essentially seize any financial institution it wants without cause. It needs to only claim that the institution is a danger to the nation.
That’s from the Constitution. Congress has the power to coin money and regulate its value. To the extent a bank’s operations threaten the value of the currency, Congress has 100% constitutional and statutory authority to seize or shut down a bank.
As you so rightly point out, we don’t judge presidents by their first 18 months. Reagan hit 10.8% unemployment one month in his first term. GWB had negative job growth in his whole first term.
This is head-banging gibberish.
Trade imbalances are not a component of budget deficits or national debt.
during most of the Bush years, we were in a boom economy
More gibberish. Bush didn’t even surpass historic norms for economic growth.
Rick: As to Socialist Europe, the only question is what comes first- total economic collapse, Sharia law, or another Hitler?
alpha: I think they are going to have a few more generations of contentedness first.
Another delusional socialist.
Germany and France already had to bail-out Greece; Spain, Portugal and Italy are soon to follow. And remember, Europe has baby-boomers, too- and when they retire, who do you think will pay for their benefits? The relentless and ever-increasing influx of Arabs, Pakistanis and northern Africans? Forget about it. Their own offspring? Nope- the white birthrate in most of Europe is below 1.3-per-couple; not enough to sustain the native population.
Like I said, economic collapse, Sharia law or another Hitler (nationalist).
Debt incurred as a result of trade imbalances are a component of the debt. Do you think over four trillion in debt just magically appeared?
You also could not be more wrong about Bush and growth. During the period in which Republicans controlled the House, Senate and White House during the middle of the last decade, the economy grew sixteen out of sixteen quarters at an average rate of 3.2%. The economy produced 8.5 million jobs during those sixteen quarters averaging 177,000 jobs per month. All those numbers significantly exceed post WWII averages. The seven year gap between recessions also exceed averages for post WWII economic performance.
A president is not judged by just eighteen months, but rather by his whole body of work. That’s all we have for Obama at this point though, so that’s what he’s judged on. And so far, he get’s an “F” that is well earned.
Michael, you should apologize for calling me a secular socialist leftist. I believe in God, believe in free markets, have always been anticommunist. I just think Bush screwed a lot of things up. You have this jihad thing going where your tribe is always right, everybody else is a disaster. You want McCain to be President and Sarah Palin to be vice President and you’re all pissed. Think anybody who voted for Palin has any buyers remorse?
I was not “denigrating” Glenn Beck for being a shock job. Denigrate means to criticize unfairly. I think it’s fair to say that a person like Mr. Beck who earns a living mocking minorities, taking advantage of mentally handicapped people, then calls the President of the United States a “racist” who has a “deepseated hatred of white people”, in my opinion, saying that person is not worthy of respect, much less the adoration you have for him, I think that is a fair criticism.
And you are saying what? Mr. Beck is a scholar, a deep thinker, and man of God? He is an entertainer, and a crass one at that.
Al Franken took his case to the people by way of an election. Franken went from being a boob in the entertainment industry like Beck, to earning himself in a position where he is held accountable for his words and deeds. He has to answer questions defend his opinion, enter debates, back up his words, then let the voters of Minnesota decide about him.
Nor did Mr. Franken ever pose as a constitutional American history scholar. When Franken was in show business, he played the role of boob, never pretending to be a Constitutional Scholar historian kind of boob.
You are a groupie for these right wing showman like Beck. Buy the products he hawks, throw your panties on the stage and be done with it. Just don’t come out here to the real world and start calling people secular socialist leftist because that what Glenn told you to say. I don’t flush out here. I just plain obnoxious.
You really do have to a fanatic to twist the trade deficit into that $5 trillion in national debt Bush racked up. This is my last post on this. So say what you will, you are coming from some place of very strange numbers, very strange loyalties. Good luck with your American jihad.
Apologize? Pigs will fly before that happens. You are what you are and you support what you support.
Denigrate…verb…to criticize unfairly…and you have done so to Mr. Beck in abundance. Especially considering that absolutely pathetic defense of Al Franken, a man who did not earn anything. He was defeated in the election and in the recount. A corrupt court allowed a rigged canvassing board decision to reverse the will of the people of Minnesota. They now have a semi literate “boob” of a senator who sleeps in committe meetings to confirm Supreme Court Justices.
Do I want McCain to be president? Absolutely. And right now, so do a lot of other people who wish they could have their vote back.
So I’m on a “jihad.” The secular socialist left is very good with name calling. I must admit that’s a new one for me though. The readership of my website has doubled for three consecutive years based upon its motto…”Conservative Politics For The Thoughtful.”
Again it astonishes me that you can rage about Bush and debt, yet turn you back on what Obama has done in less than a quarter of the time. This is beyond ignorance. It probably involves a hynotic drug or two.
This is your last post? Good. I accept your surrender.
You have been assimilated.
1) I find it shocking, amusing and amazing to hear anyone who supported GW lob “cronyism” accusations at the Obama administration… 2) It’s a good thing Christine O’Donnell is hot and telegenic, or else her endless series of doomed campaigns would have ended a looooooong time ago.
did I hear a Bush supporter saying that winning an election in a court supervised recount means the winner is illegitimate? The final recount for 2000 still shows Bush down by 500,000 in the popular vote.
I like to watch Christine with the sound off and imagine she is saying something liberal.
Honestly, when people are that far right I think they are just play-acting, because nobody could be that dumb for real.
As always, the usual supects have shown up with their usual tired old jingle.
I think WJ asked a valid point that the Castle Legion, as usual deflected by talking about everything from former presidents, to trade inbalances.
Why won’t Chicken Mike debate Christine O’Donnell ? Because of his voting history and nothing more. He knows that in a GOP debate, there is no way to explain away his record to conservatives. He turned down the League of Women Voters debate.
And to all of those who are so interested in talking about who can and can’t get elected in the general election. Well my dear good friends, don’t count your Chicken Mikes before they are elected. Why is it that no one is polling Mike Castle head to head with Christine O’Donnell in the primary? Maybe because they are afraid of the results.
O’Donnell will win the GOP primary, and then all of that polling showing Castle ahead of Coons means nothing, and the O’Donnell campaign gets a new life from all of those independent voters who are tired of the same old politics, and the Obama agenda that Castle has played a rather large part in. Remeber in the general election O’Donnell can distance herself from the Obama agenda, something that neither Castle nor Coons can do. Castle is locked to it because of his voting record and Coons because of his party. You people who come here with your talking points and your made up names make me want to puke.
I challenge cookie and think123 and any of the anons to put their real names out there and let me pour over your financial histories. I’m sure none of you ever had a single bounced check or late payment, I’m sure you never had a moment in your lives that you wish you could do over. No of course not. You’re perfect.
Mike Castle has lied to the citizens of Delaware, when he said he wouldn’t vote for cap and trade if elected to the Senate. I believe this to be a lie, I just am unwilling to give him the chance to prove it. If honest people look at his FEC report and sync it up with his voting record, honest people will see a clear conflict of interest. But hey, who cares right, because he can win!! We have to want and expect more from our elected officials than the abillity to win.
If you elect Mike Castle to the Senate, you can expect the highest tax hike on every citizen in the nation ever, when he helps the Democrats pass carbon taxing.
If you elect Christine O’Donnell, you give us the real chance to win back this nation from the leftist. Your choice, the America that Pres. Obama sees for us, or the America that our Founders invisioned.Your choice !
Honestly, when people are that far right I think they are just play-acting, because nobody could be that dumb for real.
Sorry, I forgot about Frank.
alpha, big talk for someone hiding behind an assumed name. But hey, I guess chickens will support chickens .
O’Donnell can’t handle finances as well as Obama and Pelosi- you have to be an economic genius to bankrupt a whole country.
Hey there Mr. Frank, count me out. I don’t say much about O’Donnell. I don’t think I said anything about her at all. Read your blog dude. People don’t need think123 to help them figure out that particular candidate. I hope she wins.
By the way, the reason you don’t get to see our finances, the reason we little anon bloggers don’t have to fill out forms about how we spend our money, is because we are not running to be a U.S. Senator. Get it? Private citizens get to stay private. Our bad checks or bad character doesn’t matter much because we are not asking people to appoint us to a public leadership position. People who want to be U.S. Senators have to show all their stuff to us so we can tell if they are crooks and liars or not. Remember? We even get to read the transcripts of what the candidates preacher says in the candidates church. It’s all very very protologically public. How the hell can a candidate be a candidate and not expect to be picked over from head to toe. That is the way it works. Are you saying your candidate needs a kinder gentler more forgiving less curious public who does not meddle into her private life. We should not know about Newt’s womanizing. The legislators DUI. Clinton’s blow jobs. O’Donnells finances are small potatoes. Apparently she does not have the stomach for the big time. Next thing you know you’ll be whining about the poor fragile candidate having to answer questions in the newspaper. You know how mean those newspapers can be.
It’s funny, some of our former presidents would be ‘unqualified’ by today’s ‘standards.’ Look at Grant; a binge-drinking failed businessman who happened to win the Civil War.
From the Grant Memorial statue, Washington DC:
“On this plain man,
Two gifts the gods bestowed;
He weighed the pack before he took the load
And where he marched was a one-way road”
Nothing like bringing-up the Civil War to kill a conversation.
By-the-way, who’s picture is that between Obama and Lenin?
