Has Corruption Become An Entitlement, When Elected To The General Assembly?

Yes, the “Good ol Boy System,” (GOBS) is alive and well in Delaware’s General Assembly. What has happened to the days when a person only served in a states general assembly as a citizen legislator instead of a career politician. The good ol days when a persons’ word was his bond and a person could expect honesty from their “citizen legislators.” Well my friends, those days are gone and won’t return unless “we the people,” make it happen. The two-party system of Delaware, and all of America for that matter is a completely corrupt system to the core. That’s why there are over 142,000 registered unaffiliated independents and so-called third parties that are growing in numbers daily. The Independent Party of Delaware has become the fastest growing party in Delaware, because of its acceptable platform and inclusion of people with many diverse political ideologies. Shifting political demographics is not the only symptom of a very diseased political structure in Delaware. The General Assembly and especially Delaware’s House, under the new tutelage of “Pistol Pete” Schwartzkopf, has been writing legislation that blatantly violates both the US and Delaware Constitutions. This trend sets an alarming practice of not so subtly removing Delawareans’ Civil and Constitutional rights. I have dubbed Mr. Schwartzkopf as “Pistol Pete,” because he is quick on the draw to relieve Delaware’s citizens of their Constitutional rights but slow on the thought process of being a genuine representative that will follow the “rule of law.” Great examples of this trend are HB325 of 2012, sponsored by “Pistol Pete,” then the House Majority Leader, that removes any reference from Delaware’s Statutory Law that refers to the sheriff having powers of “conservator of the peace. Most recently the legislation requiring expanded background checks for buying weapons, by lawful citizens. This bill is a knee-jerk feel-good reaction to the recent massacre at Sandy Hook elementary school by a single gunman. The Second Amendment of the US states very plainly:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
Article XV section 1 of Delawares Constitution reads:
The Chancellor, Judges and Attorney General shall be conservators of the peace throughout the state, and the sheriffs shall be conservators of the peace within the counties respectively in which they reside.
These sections of both the US and Delaware Constitution that I have quoted are extremely easy to read and interpret. Why would “Pistol Pete,” knowingly and wantonly violate the law when writing these bills. I leave the reader with the task of determining Mr. Schwartzkopf’s intentions but one thing is for certain; this very dangerous and troubling trend will not bode well for Delaware’s citizens. Jack Markell and “Pistol Pete” Schwartzkopf, the Obama puppets have been following in the footsteps of the Messiah who walks on water, Barack Obama and have been attempting to make Delaware the model example of the Republics first fully, “Socialist State”

  1. If you think background checks for gun buyers and Sussex county sheriffs will arouse anyone who’s, worried about losing a job, ever working again and/or paying off a student loan, then you are really out of touch with average Delawareans.

I’m afraid that you are the one that is out of touch with reality. The US and Delaware Constitutions are very real and binding documents, and that is the issue that is being dealt with in this post. If this doesn’t offend the average Delaware citizen, then this problem is more serious than first thought.

  3. But when these outrages do arouse a reaction, you will say that conservatives are being paranoid or worried about nothing.

So, I am still waiting for Dave, reitree from Virginia, Nitpicker, and Geezer to come back on here after the NSA scandal, the IRS scandal, news yesterday of drones spying on us in the USA, etc., and tell us once again that we are worrying about nothing.

  4. Jon
You make a great point and the post would have been too long if I had addressed those issues as well. They are fair game on the post also and I will write a longer post on those issues soon. Thanks for the comment.

  5. Jon,

Hardly any “Conservatives” are talking about civil liberties issues like the “NSA scandal, the IRS scandal, news yesterday of drones spying on us in the USA, etc” .

When Rand Paul filibustered over Obomba’s assassination of US citizens, he could not get his GOP colleagues to spell him enough so that he could so much as take a piss.

And where in Mr. Ayotte’s blog post does he mention as serious an issue as warrantless surveillance? Nowhere. It’s all about chicken ***t things like Sussex County sheriff’s arrest powers and background checks for gun buyers.

Delacrat, I don’t think you can find a conservative who ISN’T screaming bloody murder about those things. I have been published with several articles on the topic at American Thinker.

I have interviewed several guests on the Conservative Commandos radio show like Larry Klayman who sued the NSA and “Sue the IRS (dot) com” who is suing the IRS on behalf of non-profit organizations.

You may not be plugged in to those circles, but they have always been screaming about it.

Conservative constitutional scholar Bruce Fein and former Republican Congressman Bob Barr and Larry Klayman were screaming about snooping of Americans around 2005 and 2006, speaking against the USA Patriot Act.

For example, conservatives were screaming about over-spending all during the George W. Bush terms, yet liberals still claim that the tea party is only criticizing Obama. You may not have been paying attention to what conservatives have been saying. But conservatives have been ready to tar and feather Karl Rove, George W. Bush, and Congressional Republicans since 2004. Even during the 2004 Presidential election, people had to hold their nose, take a long look at the scary prospect of liberal John Kerry, and vote for the big-spending Republican instead of the big-spending Democrat.

You are right, I didn’t bring bring up the issues of warrantless surveillance the IRS scandal or the NSA scandal, and maybe I should have. You call the issue of the Sussex County Sheriff a “chicken ***t” issue and a Second Amendment Issue like the right to bear arms, a low-grade issue.
Well sir, you need a check-up from the neck-up, it you want to continue to live in a free republic. I happen to think, along with many others in Delaware and the nation that these issues are at the very root of our freedom. The nations founding fathers also thought so and that’s why they wrote the Constitution and Amendments the way they did.

Why don’t you go doorknock instead of vilifying someone else and criticizing others. That’s all you seem to be good at, except using DP as a fundraising tool for you own interests. BTW, you are far off topic.

  9. Dave
It is not your responsibility to decide what I care about. I have known Nellie Jordan quite a while and know her to be an honest person regardless of party affiliation.
If that is difficult to understand, you’ll have to live with it. Now stay on topic please.

  10. So now nobody can bring up a subject until someone has written about it first? Most. Pathetic. Blog. Ever.

  11. Jonesy before you start calling people pathetic liars you better think a bit sparky! I personally called you spoke to you about a candidate, you also spoke to the candidate several days later.
Next time before you start vilifying other party members remember your own words “I only help, for free, local RD candidates.”
Typical NCCo lucking foser RINO all b/s

  12. Dave
O’Donnell just been waiting for you help as a great fundraiser before she files for the US Senate. C’mon Dave, you’re so darn great. Just think of the bragging rights
That’s right, you brag whether you’ve earned it or not.

    (a) There were dozens of Senators on the US Senate floor helping Rand Paul’s filibuster, coming and going at various times. By the end the well of the Senate was so crowded that Senators had to be pushed away from the door to clear the aisle by the Master of Arms.

    (b) However, the Senate rules do not allow one person to cover for another while they go to the bathroom. In order for Rand Paul to hold the floor he had to stay on the Senate floor. If Rand Paul had left the Senate floor, his filibuster would be over, no matter how many other Republican Senators were there to help him.

When a Senator is recognized to hold the floor, it is not transferrable and he cannot leave and go to the bathroom and then come back.

  14. Yes Dave

I am raising money for IPoD. It’s none of your business Dave. Unlike you I care for a free republic. All you care about is licking the boots of NCCo Bluebloods so they will give you a few small donations to get you out of their face. (what an egg-sucking schmuck) Believe me they don’t care one whit about the republic as long as they remain the wealthy privileged class that quietly controls things behind the scenes. The state is a theatrical play to them and they would be the directors, but we have the freedom of our Constitutional rights at the forefront of our minds.
It pains them greatly that Nelly Jordan stepped up to the plate and took control. Although I am not in the GOP any longer (thank God) I am proud that she is taking a stand.

  15. What cowardice with the name? It’s my real name so quit being a pompous ass. I did call you I personally discussed a statewide candidate with you. You expressed an interest stating you had contacts up in NCCo who could be helpful. Again rather than vilifying and castigating others about their actions or your perceived inaction on their parts I suggest you look at yourself first before passing any judgement on others.

  16. In 2012 Delaware was rated the 22nd most corrupt state by the same organization. Use up to date numbers, Wolfgang, stop lying to Delaware voters.
