GOP Luminaries Gain Traction As Presidential and VP Hopefuls.

National GOP luminaries such as Marco Rubio, Rand Paul, Kelly Ayotte and Paul Ryan have remained in the national limelight, in the post-election struggle to fight off such legislation as anti-second amendment legislation and Obama strong-arm tactics. Each continues to gain traction, not only with most factions of the Republican Party but also with Independents and many democrats. This new popularity is no fluke; many Americans that have recently voted for the President have become disenchanted with the newly re-elected president who has become obsessed with revenge based tactics, caused by his failed policies. Actions like failing to open Yellowstone National Park on time and cutting the Federal Tuition Assistance Program and housing benefits for our military veterans can be viewed as tantrum-revenge tactics by a clearly disgruntled president. President Obama pushed “Obamacare” though Congress during his first term, clearly against the wishes of the American People and is using revenge-tactics against our military veterans as well as the American People in his current term. This pattern of behavior exhibits in a consistent pattern, and is an indication that the president does not care what the American People want or think. It is alarmingly the consistent and growing behavior of a socialist dictatorship. If Obama pursues his current mindset and record of failed policies, the Republican Party will continue to gain traction and could possibly win an overwhelming victory in 2014. It is still far too early to predict this kind of victory but the quality of the people rising to the presidential-level positions, in the minds of voting Americans is a great indication of things to come.

  1. Did you ever consider supporting your information with data? You know, citing polls to show that these people you name are rising in popularity? Anything?

  2. “President Obama pushed “Obamacare” though Congress during his first term, clearly against the wishes of the American People”

Why did they re-elect him, Don?

  3. “Did you ever consider supporting your information with data? You know, citing polls to show that these people you name are rising in popularity? Anything?”

This post is an editorial, if you don’t like it, don’t comment on it!

  4. “This post is an editorial, if you don’t like it, don’t comment on it!”

What, there’s a rule that editorials can’t contain evidence? If you can’t support your opinion with facts, you can just say so. Don’t get so defensive. I get it — there’s nothing but your opinion to support your opinion. Nothing new there.

  5. Geezer

I’ve written about much of this before; matter of fact, within the last month and it was backed up with fact, on which you’ve commented on. This post is merely an editorial.
You are correct about me acting aggressive and I apologize for that.

  6. “Actions like failing to open Yellowstone National Park on time and cutting the Federal Tuition Assistance Program and housing benefits for our military veterans”

With priorities like this, and you wonder why the GOP loses elections ?

  7. I know, Delacrat! With outrageous abuses by Democrats like that, why can’t Republicans simply point them out?

  8. Jon,

How many people really care when a national park they rarely(if ever) visit opens or if a military benefit never available to them gets cut ?

  9. delacrat

“How many people really care when a national park they rarely(if ever) visit opens or if a military benefit never available to them gets cut ?”

That’s right delacrat, if it doesn’t pertain to your own personal use or well-being, then nobody else should need it either. You are the epitome of selfishness.

  10. But most of all do people care about being lied to by the President of the United States?

  11. “That’s right delacrat, if it doesn’t pertain to your own personal use or well-being, then nobody else should need it either. You are the epitome of selfishness.”

Oh, now Don doesn’t like capitalism. Self-interest is the engine of capitalism – it’s what makes capitalism work.

  12. Nitpicker

Well nit, I think that our national heritage and our military, “the defenders of our nation” are important to America and I view delacrat as a self-absorbed selfish individual that doesn’t have his/her priorities straight.

  13. “our military, ‘the defenders of our nation’”

Do our ‘defenders’ do jack when corporations ship American jobs to foreign lands?

Do our ‘defenders’ do jack when financiers inflate bubble after asset bubble, when Congress bails-out Wall St criminals? And the criminals invest the proceeds abroad?

And about 9/11, our ‘defenders’ account for 50% of global ‘defense’ spending. You’d think with all that largesse, they have been able to stop some 19 guys with box-cutters.

Since ‘our defenders’ obviously aren’t defending, we ought to defund and shut down the operation, just like the private sector would when the business does not perform.

  14. “Well nit, I think that our national heritage and our military, “the defenders of our nation” are important to America and I view delacrat as a self-absorbed selfish individual that doesn’t have his/her priorities straight.”

Well, Don, these things all cost money.

WHO is responsible for corporations shipping American jobs to foreign lands?

    Democrats.

And what would the miltiary have to do with that?

Delcrat asks: “Do our ‘defenders’ do jack when financiers inflate bubble after asset bubble, when Congress bails-out Wall St criminals? And the criminals invest the proceeds abroad?”

Again, conservatives opposed those things. Democrats supported them.

And many of those “criminals” are currently in jail.

  16. “WHO is responsible for corporations shipping American jobs to foreign lands?

    Democrats.

And what would the miltiary have to do with that?”

The military can’t do anything about that. And that’s the point. Job off-shoring is a significant threat, whereas the people ‘our defenders’ are squared off against, faraway militias, 16 year old US citizens and Pakistanis living mud huts are not. So there’s no sense in feeding ‘our defender’s who are not suited to defend against real threats.

  17. Now the people mentioned at the top have resumes, accomplishments, they don’t accuse people of hiding next to imaginary bushes, they don’t threaten radio talk show hosts, they don’t walk off of TV interviews because they didn’t like the question, their staff doesn’t push people, and they have a published address, etc.

Sadly, the party wrecker of the DE GOP has done all of that or had her staff do
    it at her bequest.

How embarassing and worst yet shows a lack of political sense that redefines imagination.

I received an email today riddled with the most flat out lies going on about some CNN poll that showed her winning; yet the poll never acknowledged that R turnout was abysmal because of her and D turnout was higher then ever because of her.

This has went from sad to bad to disgusting to awful to pathetic to now comical.

Oh, I noticed she wasn’t to speak at CPAC. The reason being that they too have figured out what a grifter she is. Finally.

  18. Dave, as posted above, Republican turn-out was higher in November 2010 than in the last comparable non-Presidential year 2006: 56% of Republicans voted in 2010 compared with 50% of Republicans in 2006.

Meanwhile, 50% of Democrats voted in 2010 compared with 48% in 2006.

So you are just making up fantasies, Dave.

I don’t know what email you received. I am not familiar with it, although I wiould like to see a copy.

  19. Remember that the establishment told us that Marco Rubio couldn’t win and Paul Ryan couldn’t win — and shouldn’t win, they would be bad for the Party.

  20. Sigh, I tried to comment on here again and once again have become convinced this is site for the tin horned or the obtuse.

Jon, first your wrong – can you say fuzzy math – and secondly she still lost by 17 points.

If she runs again…. good for her, however I will not be around to help anyone overcome the anti COD tidal wave part II…. and unlike last time I’ll be voting for Coons. The first D I will have ever voted for along with helping to raise money for Republicans for Coons billboards. It pains me to write this but I cannot sit idly by and have my party represented by such a pathetic liar and loser.

She’ll have no national money this time and Delaware will have finally joined the rank of NJ, CONN, RI and MASS as states where federal elections are decided by D primaries thanks to her and her exceptionally misinformed bunch of political amateurs.

This site no longer merits my time nor attention. The content has little to do with Delaware, commentary is flagged as one would see from the USSR, and except for myself and a small handful of other’s; few ever write on here who actually know anything about Delaware politics.

This good idea has run it’s course as is always the case when extreme people on the lunatic fringe gain control.

I hope the 6 of you left continue to have fun. You and your ilk have have ruined the party and now the D’s are going to ruin the state.

I will ask who will you blame next time when you no longer have Tom Ross to blame?

Oh, finally being a gay Republican I know I am far too much of “sinner” based upon your illiterate, lack thereof theology degree, to ever have anything in common with you bigots, so I guess this is a good final parting. When gay marriage becomes law very soon, I expect the howls to be loud however they will be just that … howling in the wind.

However my priest is very fine with how God made me.

So continue your path towards electoral statewide obsolence and maybe in 25 years I can get someone elected dogcatcher because with her around no one is getting elected to anything for quite some time.

As always – 521-7600 or djones941@comcast.net please call or write but you far right fascists won’t contact me because you never have to date now ever will.

Idea: read Mussolini’s biography – it summarizes how many of you think. He even wore uniforms just like you Jon.

  21. Dave Jones, you can share any opinion you want.

    But the facts are:

    Republican turnout in 2006: 50%
    Republican turnout in 2010: 56%

    Democrat turnout in 2006: 48%
    Democrat turnout in 2010: 50%

ARE THOSE NOT THE FACTS? Do you disagree with those facts?

The voting is posted by the government of Delaware.

So you want to express your opinion and analysis…. fine.

But the starting point has to be facts in the real world.

What part of Demcorat turnout was 50% in 2010 compared with 48% in 2006 and Republican turnout was 56% in 2010 compared with 50% in 2006 do you disagree with?

  22. Our Petty President can spend $10-$20 million of taxpayer money on lavish vacations, but cuts White House tours (cost: $75k-per-week). This man is a petty, vindictive creep.

“Sorry Mr. Ambassador, we can’t beef-up your security. But, don’t worry- al Qaeda isn’t involved- after all, they just love Our Little Red Star. It’s just some angry moviegoers, upset about a home-made video nobody saw.”

  23. It is easy to point out what a jerk and idiot Delacrat is on a daily basis.

“And about 9/11, our ‘defenders’ account for 50% of global ‘defense’ spending. You’d think with all that largesse, they have been able to stop some 19 guys with box-cutters.”

You are a first class moron. Our defenders had nothing to do with stopping 9/11. The 19 hijackers got into the cockpits of aircraft thanks to the “feel good” government we have. For years pilots asked for sturdy doors on our jets, Congress and FAA said , “no”. For years pilots asked for a more secure screening process and Congress and the President (BJ Clinton) said, “no”.

The defenders you hate so much are now in action all over the world because of the gross stupidity of our political class and career politicians. Almost 3,000 people were vaporized because of moronic actions by the same people you adore.
