Goodbye General Assembly

Nicole Theis
There was a send off of our legislative leaders by the Patriot and Tea Party movement. There was definitely some disappointment with the fact that Senator Bonini best highlighted, the state government increased spending by an amount equal to the “temporary” tax hikes. The other star seemed to be Republican Glen Urquhart who was quoted in all of the papers. He highlighted the concerns of expansive government as well as anyone at both the state and federal level. He related well to the crowd with a personal rags to riches story and his dedication to resecuring the American Dream. Not to be out done Michele Rollins told her own story of being the grandchildren of immigrants and blasted Obama Care in a well delivered speech.
Other candidates spokes as well. Rose Izzo spoke to the everyday citizen who is concerned about kitchen table issues. State Senate candidate Dave Lawson spoke about bringing his small business sense to the General Assembly while State Representative candidate Ron Smith spoke about his experience as a Levy Court Commissioner reforming government spending and related to the need to do so at the state level.

Christine O'Donnell
It was not just office seekers who spoke among those who spoke to the crowd was Nicole Theis of the Delaware Family Policy Council. She explained the common sense nature of the Parent’s Right to Know Bill and panned the united opposition of the DSEA, ACLU, Department of Education, and Planned Parenthood.
I think the best coverage was in the News Journal.

What is the impact of the fact that, for all intents and purposes, nobody came to the event besides the speakers and their hangers-on?
Not a true characterization, but there is no contesting that the attendence was very low compared to past rallies. It was not good for showing the strength of the movement to the public. It will get another chance on the 16th.
looks like it was packed……lol
Repuiblicans are going to take ‘Biden’s’ Senate seat.
LOL.
I question the value of scheduling these things on a work day. Unlike liberals, tea party people actually have jobs.
That is why the great conservative cookout is a Friday night with food and music.
