Gaddafi Actually Has A Great Idea

Sep 23rd, 2009 by thatsElbert

Lybian dictator Muammar Gaddafi made a speech before the United Nations today. The speech lasted for 1 hour and 36 minutes, well over the 15 minutes normally allotted for speeches. According to news reports, he rambled on and on covering his opinions on world events for the last forty years, but the best thing the man said is reported by CNN:

Citing tough U.S. security, Gadhafi also broached the idea of moving the U.N. headquarters out of the United States and suggested putting it in another location, like China or India.

That is a great idea! Certainly we could raise a large group of volunteers that would gladly help get that festering boil off of US soil. The day the last U.N. bureaucrat hops on the jet out of here could become a national day of celebration. It couldn’t come sooner.

Does that mean we could stop funding 20% of their operating budget? I say Huzzah! Oh, and that’s some prime real estate they’re camped on – maybe Trump can turn it into a hotel. Why not move them back to Geneva? (For those of you who attended Delaware public schools, the League of Nations was headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland so all the tinpot dictators could spend their countries’ money on watches and fine chocolate.) What was the League of Nations? Sigh.

Oh, and Khadaffy was only supposed to speak for 15 minutes but he went on for an hour and a half. Can’t they play music to shut him up like they do at the Oscars, or at least have Kanye West come up and interrupt him?

    Central Africa.

it’s in the middle of the world map hanging on my wall.

Maybe Libya itself? I’d be cheaper…instead of a new building, just hold the proceedings in a circus tent. After all, air conditioning, running water and indoor plumbing (not to mention exclusive restaurants and plush hotels) are inconsistent with the ‘capitalism is bad, all cultures are equal’ U.N. mentality.

Gaddafi spoke for an hour and 36 minutes??? Did he suddenly hire Biden’s Speechwriter?

    birds of a feather…

The Obama administration has notified Congress of the State Department’s intention to contribute $400,000 to foundations run by Muammar Qaddafi’s two children — $200,000 each for daughter Aisha and son Saif. Saif, you may recall, is the son who escorted the Lockerbie terrorist Abdel Baset al-Megrahi home to a hero’s welcome in Libya after President Obama sternly “warned” Qaddafi that there was to be no hero’s welcome

A small requirement for every member of the UN. If it is met I will gladly listen to everything which is said at the UN.

To be a member of the UN you must have open, fair and regular elections. If you don’t, you should not be a member.

G Rex, I’ve been thinking all day, what would Kayne West say in his interruption? Maybe something about Mahmoud Ahmadinejad giving the best speeches of all time? No, maybe Barack Obama giving the best speeches of all time?

I hear India is lovely this time of year. I second the motion. It is an emerging, nation with out bias. The problem is they love NY. It is the highlight of being an Ambassador so don’t count on it.

  10. on 25 Sep 2009 at 09:5510Rick

If you came from a hell-hole country, you’d love NYC, too. Problem is, they want to make us one.

  11. on 25 Sep 2009 at 14:2811David

That wouldn’t change no matter the location of the General Assembly. The delegates are the elite. They really don’t want that to happen. The problem is once in a while the guys back home demand action on something so they go into some 20 year negotiation on Human Rights, Global Warming, Demining, or something. The only problem is eventually they have to stop stalling and eventually a report comes out.

The hope has been in the past that the U. S., China, Russia, and Britian would look at it and shelve it. Now we can’t count on it. Russia doesn’t care. It is doing its own thing regardless. China just inserts its opt out before the draft comes through. The current American and British leadership doesn’t really get it. We may actually get stuck with something no one ever thought would pass. Welcome to the new world disorder.

GRex said, Khadaffy was only supposed to speak for 15 minutes but he went on for an hour and a half. Can’t they play music to shut him up like they do at the Oscars, or at least have Kanye West come up and interrupt him?

That would be a good way for Kanye West to redeem himself. He would be a hero for the day.

It had to be hard for WH political team to hear the wild dictators of the world endorse President Obama. The stinch of sulfer has vanished and hope has emerged said Chavez. Khadaffy as you call him for I am sure interesting reasons (I get half of it right away after his daffy speech), said that he should be President for life. I guess that it what they met by world leaders loving our President. Poland, Israel, the Ukraine, the Czeck Republic. Not so much. We only care about real countries that oppress people.
