I heard that back in FEB. Mike hasn't mentioned it to me, but anything is possible. Since Jason is closer to Mike than I, I take his word on this as the official stance.

While we are on the subject, do you have a pick? I have a recording of one of the regional meetings and I have to say that John Davis seems a lot more prepared for the job.

Rumor? Mike Protack needs a shortcut to political success. The normal political grind of making friends, raising money, being helpful, sitting through committee meetings, and creating value behind the scenes does not seem to appeal to the feisty leatherneck.

(For people who don't read DL)

If I had a word-cloud, "rumor" may have been the big word...or Pilotician, maybe both.
As soon as I heard it from two people at different times and places, it was fair game to make the rumor known. Given past experiences, I have no reason to think if I presented it to him, I would get a straight answer, anyway. Conversely, I'm sure he says the same about me, given that I am as useful to him as a dried up piece of gum on the bottom of his shoe. So, just to be certain, in case a blitz-play was made from the floor, people should have a chance to be prepared for the event.

BTW, he didn't coordinate the Wilmington Tea Party? That just may end up confusing many bloggers in these parts, called Delaware. It's been widely circulated around blogs that he coordinated the event, but credit hasn't shown to be deflected when and where it was given (unlike blame in other cases).

Jason, I do respect you and I know this pisses you off, and I do apologize for that part, but it goes beyond that. I was burned in the period after 2006 and that does not happen to me twice.

Mike Protack did not coordinate the Wilmington Tea Party. The tea party was coordinated by Jon Sherman. Mike, along with others contributed to make the tea party a success. We had well over 800, if not 1,000 at the event.

Also Mike is not running for any office within the state GOP party structure. This is a rumor and a false statement.

The last two...and my only two, at that. I fear not one bit that he will tie nor even halve that record.

"Rsmitty, total loser, coward and whiner. Stay at your keyboard and pontificate about things you know nothing about. You are as important as the piece of dried up gum on the bottom of my shoe."

A Vice Chair who inspires open, good spirited debate within the party would be beneficial for the Delaware GOP. I'm thinking it's not the guy who runs attack ads against fellow GOPers and engages in internet thuggery.

And Smitty, did he call you a "loser"? Didn't you win the last campaign you were involved in? Hmmm...I can't recall...how has Protack been doing in his campaign attempts?

It always amazes me how a freakin' politician -- who by very definition relies on the PEOPLE to win elections -- dumps on people the way he does.

Not that I ever see him winning anything, but if he does, I'll just skip whatever office it may be (and it's always a good guess, given Protack) in the voting booth.

JC - You probably didn't hear about it, because it would diminish the effect of doing it from the floor.

I was supposed to be there last night, too, but my son had a baseball game and that's another one of my heart-on-my-sleeve moments - I won't choose this at their expense.
