Take a look at this and just remember elections in November 2010.
1. U..S. House & Senate have voted themselves $4,700 and $5,300 raises.
2. They voted to NOT give you a S.S. Cost of living raise in 2010 and 2011.
3. Your Medicare premiums will go up $285.60 for the 2-years
4. You will not get the 3% COLA: $660/yr.
5. Your total 2-yr loss and cost is -$1,600 or -$3,200 for husband and wife.
6. Over these same 2-years each Congress person will get an additional $10,000
7. Do you feel SCREWED YET?
8. Will they have your cost of drugs – doctor fees – local taxes – food, etc., decrease? NO WAY!!. Congress and all Federal Employees received a raise and have better health and retirement benefits than you or I will ever have!!! AT NO COST TO THEM!!!!! (YOUR TAXES PAY FOR IT ALL)
* Why should they care about you?
* You never did anything about it in the past.
* They think you are too stupid or don’t care.
* Do you really think that Nancy, Harry, Chris, Charlie,
* Barnie, et al, care about you?
Send this message to those individuals — “YOU’RE FIRED!”
In 2010 you will have a chance to get rid of the sitting Congress: up to 1/3 of the Senate and 100% of the House!
Make sure you’re still mad in November 2010 and remind their replacements not to screw-up.
It is ok to forward this to your sphere of influence if you are finally tired of the abuse. Maybe it’s time for Amendment 28 to the Constitution..
28th Amendment will be as follows:
“Congress shall make no law that applies to the citizens of the United States that does not apply equally to the Senators or Representatives, and Congress shall make no law that applies to the Senators or Representatives that does not apply equally to the citizens of the United States .”
Let’s get this passed around, folks – these people in Washington have brought this upon themselves! It’s time for retribution. Let’s take back our country.
I thought this would be interesting to discuss.

Why should they care about you?
* You never did anything about it in the past. Correct
* They think you are too stupid or don’t care.
Correct
* Do you really think that Nancy, Harry, Chris, Charlie,
* Barnie, et al, care about you?
Of course not.
Term Limits, term limits, term limits.
Yes – Term Limits. And make it retroactive regardless of whether they are switching from one chamber to the other.
David, the very first item in the Contract with America was
“FIRST, require all laws that apply to the rest of the country also apply equally to the Congress”. You might want to investigate how this was implemented from 1995 to the present.
Term limits was in The Contract also. Republicans controlled Congress 1995-2007. All three branches 2001-2008. And you think Pelosi is the big problem here?
Are you forgetting? That was enacted. The problem is that a rule can be changed. It was a house promise not a senate promise. When it got to the Senate it was watered down some, but the House backed it up with rules. It is the Democrat led Congress that is started to unravel many of the items discussed in the complaint. So that does make um–Pelosi part of the problem. Republicans under Gingrich and Armey did a better job at representing the people than Democrats under Pelosi and Hoyer.
The call is for a Constitutional Amendment which is interesting. I am not sure that I support changing the Constitution, but I am very open to it in this case. It seems to address a fundamental issue–a lot better than term limits. By the way, term limits takes a 2/3′s majority in both houses and 3/4′s of the states. They promised to bring it up for an up or down vote. 80% of Republicans voted in favor of it. The Republicans never had 2/3′s of both houses and they never promised to pass it (that would have been a false promise seeing that they would not have had the power to do so). They promised to give it a fair vote so that people could see where their leaders stood on the record. It turned out that people really didn’t care once it was allowed to be debated.
