The way to win this campaign is two fold. The first is to nationalize the election. You do that by saying you won't be part of the national culture. You do that with specifics. This is not one of the huge issues that he usually addresses, but it is one of those iratating ones that Congress does. Carney will say nothing. Wade will object. The second is to draw contrasts. Our candidate x (Wade in this example could be Cullis or Urquhart) needs to establish positive positions and show some of John Carney's failures. There is no magic bullet to do both at one time. Since our campaigns are interminally long, there does not need to be one. If I find the magic bullet, I will run for Congress. I am content were I am. Luckily, Kevin Wade is running not you Phil.
