Focusing on the Past
Mar 22nd, 2010 by Angel
As upset by yesterdays actions there were some shining moments that I feel we can not ignore. 212 Representatives voted AGAINST this Health Care “Reform”. 212 Representatives stood firm for their constituents. You can find a link to the list of these men and women here. At this link there is also information for you to contact each of these Representatives. I recommend calling at least your own (in Delaware’s case it is Mike Castle) and thanking them for taking a stand with their constituents. Let them know that you appreciate them listening to their phone calls, letters, and even paying attention to our rallies. When I called Castle’s office they sounded shocked to hear a “thank you” call. Although we are all currently devastated by this bill’s passage, don’t let these feelings depress you. It is important that you let your own Congressmen know that you are watching what they do.
In the past we seem to have gotten into the habit of sending our Congressmen into Washington and then leaving them to fend for themselves. This may be part of the reason why United States Congress now seems to think it is not accountable to its people. I urge you to remind them now that we will remember both the good and the bad.
You can also take the time to contact Delaware’s Attorney General Beau Biden and ask whether or not the state plans on filing a lawsuit to enjoin the enactment of the health care bill passed by the U.S. House of Representatives on March 21.
Do not let this be a time of remorse, let this be a time for action.

Great first official post, Angel. Welcome to the team.
I agree. I, in fact, did that today when I saw the Congressman. Now is the time to move forward.
Thanks for the challenge. I am making the calls.
Ha, for better or worse Rep Castle’s voicemail box is full in Dover. I guess I’ll try another number.
Anyone who has read some of my post on the topic of Mr. Castle knows that I am not a fan. Angel I hope you have . And please do not take this as an attack on your personal sentiment, it’s not.
I personally am not convinced that if the Democrats had needed one more vote to pass this bill, that Mr. Castle would not have voted for it. It is very easy for many of the RINOs to act tuff on this issue since they weren’t needed by their adoptive party, the Democrats.
Many will criticize me for attacking Mr. Castle on the event of him voting with the GOP on such a major issue. I personally am done with Mr. Castle for all time. Yes in an election year, he cast what amounted to a worhtless vote. But how many times has he, when needed by the GOP on close votes on important issues , such as cap and trade, has he sided with the Democrats? Too many in my view. So I won’t be calling him to thank him, unless he announces his retirement !
Tim, I managed to get through on a direct line. I also called B Biden and his … secretary informed me that it was Kaufman’s job to have a statement regarding the new bill. I am now on a file the suit list, but it will never happen.
Frank, Anyone who knows me knows that I also am not a fan of Castle. That was probably why the office was so surprised when they found out it was me calling with a thank you. I guess I have decided that it’s time to take my politicin’ to a new level. If I appreciate you listening for once, I will tell you, if not, expect more phone calls, letters, and public bashing then you have had in quite a while (well, not that long in Castle’s case)…
