Fact Checking the O’Donnellistas

Aug 12th, 2010 by Tennessee Walker

The O’Donnell team takes to total flights of fantasy and then inventing a story to back up their fantasy. These fantasies don’t have facts to back up their wild conspiracy theories.

For Instance  Recently, one of the O’Donnellistas went on the Rick Jensen show on WDEL radio.  In what was a totally dishonest smear, this member of team O’Donnell accused two other respected Delaware bloggers of being on the payroll of Mike Castle.  When challenged by Jensen to provide proof of this, the team O’Donnell member admitted he had none.

You can read about the this viscious smear by the O’Donnell team member here.

http://www.delawaretomorrow.com/slandered-by-a-whack-job/

Now in a prior post to this one,  (  http://www.delawarepolitics.net/is-michele-rollins-afraid-of-mike-castle/ )    one can see the same desire to not try and gather facts and just use wild speculation to attack Mike Castle.  This time Michelle Rollins is used.   This time the author is alleging that Michelle Rollins avoided a Regional Republican meeting to not appear with Mike Castle.  Now the last 3 polls have Castle comfortably ahead of O’Donnell, but more important is that anyone can find out just where Michelle Rollins was on Monday with 2 clicks of a mouse.  There is no need to speculate or make up wild theories.  The facts are available for all to see.

The Rollins’ schedule shows she had 2 events on Monday night.  She had a Delaware Healthcare Association dinner in Wilmington and then She had Republican Meeting for another region at McKean High School.   (The 2 venues are about 7 miles apart. The Sussex Meeting would have meant an 80 mile drive one way with no assurance the candidate would have made the meeting on time.)

This time of year this kind of scheduling for candidates goes on all the time.  It makes sense for a candidate to attend multiple events as much as possible and meet as many people as possible.  Of course getting input about HealthCare from professionals also makes sense for a Congressional Candidate.

Expecting Frank not to use smear tactics is like expecting O’Possum to actaually won the primary.

  2. on 12 Aug 2010 at 12:582StosselFan

Hey, I like the fact O’Possum is catching on! Maybe we should call the supporters “Possumista’s.”

  3. on 12 Aug 2010 at 13:243Tennessee Walker

When someone starts selling O’Possum Hats we know we are on to something.

    TW
You call people who support O’Donnell, “O’Donnellistas. I call people who support Castle, “sodomites” because Castle has been screwing conservative republicans in the backside for years.

TW, I did check Ms. Rollins calender, she actually had three things scheduled for Monday the ninth, one was the Sussex County meeting, scheduled for 12:00am. Is this a calender that I am to trust? Also, I was handed an agenda as I entered the meeting with Ms. Rollins still scheduled. She had been scheduled for a month. When did the other two come up so suddenly that she couldn’t notify the Sussex people in time to print corrections? I am going to attempt to contact the Rollins campaign to allow them to clarify the schedule mix up, and to tell me how much she is looking forward to sharing a stage with Rep. Castle.

  6. on 12 Aug 2010 at 19:136Frank Knotts

OH! By the way if you check her schedule for today, she is scheduled to be in three different locations at the same time. Is this a built in escape hatch in case Mike castle shows up? Her official calender seems to be a bit unreliable, don’t you think?

  7. on 12 Aug 2010 at 19:197GeorgeC

You’re really going to chastise a political candidate for being unreliable Frank? People in glass houses….

  8. on 12 Aug 2010 at 20:248Frank Knotts

George, learn to read, read to learn. I said her calender was unreliable. Please don’t put words in my mouth, I already have plenty.

  9. on 12 Aug 2010 at 20:309Rick

‘My husband was rich, so I’m qualified’ is pathetic, if you think about it.

  10. on 12 Aug 2010 at 20:4610Tennessee Walker

Frank your total inexperience with political campaigns is once again beginning to show. Yes I don’t think anyone is going to show up at a Sussex meeting at midnight the ninth of August . Political campaigns make mistakes all the time. For a guy who asks for forbearance for your numerous spelling mistakes I find your self righteous pontificating about clerical mistakes a bit much. The Day political campaigns stop making mistakes on their websites is the day you stop making spelling mistakes. ;) . Now are you expecting me to believe you were so dumb to think Rollins was really going to meeting at Midnight to 1 AM. I don’t think you really believed that Rollins was going to show up at Midnight in Georgetown.

Anyone who sees that Rollins is attending an ANNUAL Dinner realizes it comes up once a year. It is obvious the Campaign realized that the first event would be the only opportunity to address and meet a key group that had important information in the Health Care Debate. She also attended the Mill Creek Christiana Republican Regional Meeting the same night. I consider that smart scheduling.

Anyone who has the ability to put oneself in the position of a campaign manager and scheduler to make a tough decision realized that Rollins made the Correct decision. If Rollins had 2 high profile events scheduled downstate on 8-9 then she should blow off the Christiana Mill Creek meeting in favor of a Sussex night. These decisions are made all the time.

No instead Frank you use your Mike Castle obsession to cloud your judgement on everything. The Rollins camp made the right call in my view. As for 3 events at one time. Frank once again you display your lack of knowledge. This happens all the time in both local and statewide races. After all Christine O’Donnell blows off Sussex meetings for personal reasons with your approval. (This includes her excuse that she gets lost)

  11. on 12 Aug 2010 at 22:0211Frank Knotts

TW, thank you for clearing up that whole 12:00am thing. Since I have been attending monthly meetings regularly at seven thirty,I am aware of the correct time. Please forgive me if I do not possess your years of skill and wisdom about campaigns. You find it helpful to point out my views about certain races, yet expect everyone to ignore your blind party loyalty, “If the party says so, then it is so”. You defend any candidate that has the party blessing. It seems as if you care little for anything more than the party. Well some out here in the real world do.
Lets get this straight my good friend, I am not critizing Mrs. Rollins, I think that if she is distancing herself from Mike Castle it is a smart move. And if she isn’t, it is political suicide.

  12. on 13 Aug 2010 at 07:4812Windjammer

    TW
I personally know a few of the reasons that you don’t care for Christine and they have nothing to do with her politics.
Let’s keep our eyes focused on the well being of the country and we will be well served.
Castle will not change and if elected, he will turn even farther left because he has nothing to lose, it will be his last hurrah and he will become the true leftist that he is.
Don’t become a “sodomite” (Castle diehard supporter) just because you are in fear that Christine can’t win against Coons. She can win against that marxist. She can beat him hands down.
Don’t demonize her the way the democrats demonized Sarah Palin and even her children. Be a man and stand up for a real conservative. BY THE WAY, WHEN IS THE LAST TIME YOU WALKED ON WATER?

  13. on 13 Aug 2010 at 08:3613Rick

For a guy who asks for forbearance for your numerous spelling mistakes I find your self righteous pontificating…</i…'Tenn W.'

Since you seem obsessed with Frank's 'spelling errors,' is there any particular reason why you capitalized 'Midnight,''Campaign,' 'Day' and 'Correct' or not hyphenate 'self-righteous?'

Too bad spellcheck can't fix punctuation and case, right?

"People who live in glass houses…."

  14. on 15 Aug 2010 at 12:0014Tennessee Walker

Rick I was taking Frank to task for Clerical errors by an unknown campaign scheduler. My thought was people who live in glass houses…….. I refuse to try to correct frank’s misspellings. There are only so many hours in a day. a couploe of months ago I mentioned a misspelling in a headline as I thought it made the post less likely to be read.
