Exposing Hate – One Fraudulent Fool At A Time
Jun 12th, 2009 by RSmitty
First, big h/t to Pandora for including this on her post, pondering if hate talk can lead to murder (YES, IT CAN).
Rev. Wiley Drake, pastor of the First Southern Baptist Church of Buena Park, Calif., is praying for the death of the president. It is important to note that the Southern Baptist Convention has quickly and emphatically disavowed Drake’s comments as representing them and countered them with scripture that the mainstream of the convention recognizes as a commitment to praying for the well-being of the president. Read on, in this link to the Washington Post (my source of the paraphrasing above), as there is more to the story, but nothing good about this fool. It appears this “reverend” is serving his own feelings and not that of what he was given a charge. Also, make no mistake, this is hate-inspired (my best guess is it’s political hate, but still hate) and probably fear-inspired.
To go back to Pandora’s point, this type of speech DOES incite some people to carry out the words of whom they “follow.” For those who still don’t accept it, speeches can be motivating and inspiring, no matter the content or intent. Those who are weaker-minded in the ability to think critically are the ones who tend to fantacize and carry-out what they heard; history has shown us, they do just that, too. We don’t need thought police, but we do need smarter speakers. People like Rev Drake need a muzzle and a heaping tablespoon of STFU.

In the comments at DL, I likened it to a schoolyard fight that escalates due to the bystanders egging it on – and then walking away claiming “they weren’t the ones fighting.”
This talk (and, no, I’m not advocating banning speech) is becoming far too common in the mainstream and it concerns me… since we all know where it’s heading.
The rhetoric is cranking and in a bad way. It’s disturbing, because I think many of those who do it visualize their mic as the invisible shield of denying culpability (shielding against blame).
Sorry Smitty, but what’s chuckle-inducing is ANY such concern coming from a DLer. Really. What did THEY do the last eight freakin’ years?? (No, they didn’t call for the death of Bush — that I know of — although DelDem called for the death of all Republicans.) First, you’re right — this “reverend” is a basket case and should now be watched by the Secret Service, FBI and whoever else. Along with many other such morons. But hearing the self-righteous indignation of the DLers with their “we have to be careful” bullsh**” is, again, total parody.
Regardless of what they did or didn’t do over the last eight years doesn’t make it any more or less right, IMO. Sure, you don’t forget history, but I also deal with now and going-forward. Plus, on DDem, when he did that post, I called him out hard and fast on it. To me, and via a post, he did man up and he acknowledge he was stupid and wrong for it and apologized. That’s why I don’t harp on it. I also think it weakens us to do so at this point, considering his backing off. Again, it’s my opinion and I’m not trying to force it upon you, just making a point that I disagree on that. On the flip-side, I do acknowledge that they go bat-shit-crazy on you, simply because of who you are, which I think is wrong, just as I do when they do it to Burris, so I spare you the lectures.
So, Hube, basically you agree?
And, I think we all know how much you despise DL. Writing it again and again and again and again and again and again and again… is becoming a little silly and actually detracts from the point you’re making. But, hey, if it makes you happy!
(I’ll duck now, since I – and everybody else – knows what’s coming.)
I said I agreed w/Smitty, didn’t I?
And as I said, spare me (us) your self-righteous indignation, pan. I don’t care how many times I’ve said whatever about you bunch of pathetic dopes. You deserve it all.
It’s a shame Smitty had to write a post like “h/t’ing” you for something so freakin’ obvious. Too bad it wasn’t at all obvious to you the last eight years now, was it?
BTW Smitty, you’re time over at DL has infected your spelling skills: “Fraudulent.”
I blame my left-hand (pardon the pun, but the a’s and e’s are typed by the left, no?)!!!
FIXED!
I agree with Hube, but why stop with DL. There is an entire world on the left.
As I said on Steve’s site, I agree with Pastor Hunt, President of the Southern Baptist Convention. We support traditional Christian values including love. Rev. Drake seems to have missed half of the New Testament and the heart of the Old.
C’mon, Hube, how ’bout we sing a little “Kumbaya” together? We’ll all feel better afterward.
I’d love to, A1. But the DLers [perpetually] just can’t help themselves.
You are correct, David. And here’s a query for the self-righteous DLers: What amount of culpability do you think you should share for the # of dead troops in Iraq? After all, think of how much your continual hateful speech against the former president, vice-president and his policies may have potentially affected some radical Muslim on his laptop in the mid-east somewhere. Not to mention Olbermann, Matthews, Maddow, Schultz, Huffington Post, Kos, et. al.
Sound silly? Now think about all your pathetically self-righteous posts about those who criticized Tiller and abortion in general, Obama, his policies, etc.
(I know this is an exercise in futility, but alas …)
Our art is garbage, and we’re not far behind. It’s going to get worse.
