Everywhere it goes

The extremist virus spreading through Islam must be cured. Everywhere it goes it inspires a violent tyranny. In Somalia, 13 Christian leaders have been targeted and killed. We saw what happened at Ft. Hood. We see what is happening in Nigeria. We see what happened in Afghanistan. We saw what happened 9/11.
I think it is dangerous to confuse it with the Islam practiced by 80% of its followers. Allah is great is not normally associated with killing to most Muslims. The pc crowd wants to make peace with Islam as a way to placate the extremists. The premise is faulty. Majoritarian Islam is not at issue in the first place and they have no power over these extremists. We cannot equate them. That is a truth both sides of the debate miss. Islam is not a monolith.
The trick of the extremists is to make those in Islam who have objections to them, appear as less than Islamic. When we act as if those forces represent Islam, we play into their deception. That is why I believe that the appeasement approach taken by the pc crowd actually undermines our relations. We need to actively reach out to Muslims who are are our side of the cultural divide. We need to condemn the forces that would enslave or kill us. That is just common sense. Unfortunately, it is too little of our policy approach. This has to change because it is one of the great challenges of our time.
