Evan Bayh Out of Senate Race!!!
Feb 15th, 2010 by Tennessee Walker
The Democrats keep running for the hills thanks to Obama.
Republican Dan Coats is now the odds on favorite to take the Indiana Senate seat.
Bayh evidently told President Obama of his decision but not Harry Reid. Why tell Harry? He won’t be back to the Senate either.
At any rate Bayh has set himself up to be a moderate alternative to Obama in 2012. Having to support the noxious Obama agenda would have only sunk Bayh as a possible presidential contender and he realized he was in a no win situation.
To Quote the classic rock group Queen. “Another One Bites the Dust.”

So called moderates like Bayh and Mark Warner surely regret not running for President in 2008 thinking Hillary Clinton had it wrapped up.
Truth be told Bayh started in his Dad’s shadow and never created much of a name for himself. Going along to get along is not a legacy.
Obama is indeed the best thing to happen to the GOP in years.

Bayh really could have been the moderate alternative to Clinton, Obama, Biden, Dodd, and Edwards. Mike is right that he never had the courage to take on anyone or make waves. Now he is sniping at Democrats, why? Tenn. maybe right. He may see this as his last chance. It would have been easier with one moderate and 7 liberals (Richardson choose to run to the left instead of on his NM record).
I think maybe his hope was dashed, and now this is his change.
