Delaware Health Care Town Halls?
Aug 3rd, 2009 by Timothy Pancoast
I think that Rep. Mike Castle did a wonderful job and led the way with his town hall style listening sessions. Since then many Senators and Representatives have followed his example. Now that the August recess is beginning my question is, will Delaware see any more town hall meetings?
So far I have been unable to find any sign of Rep. Castle or either of our Delaware Senator’s scheduling one during this recess. I hope they do, and this time I hope we will see a more representative sampling of the public at the meetings. As encouraging as it was for me to see every commenter at the Kent County listening session stand up, to some degree against government health care I know that there are other opinions in this state.
If you hear about a scheduled town hall in our state, please let me know and please pass the word on to your friends and neighbors.

Well that is some good news, I think. He doesn’t commit to any town halls in August, but he will be making the rounds so maybe we will see some more of him before September.
When I visited D.C. we urged Senator Carper’s office to also hold a town hall. Hopefully we will be hearing something from them as well.
Mike Castle has been doing Town Halls for years. To his credit, He has maintained his dignity and decorum despite a vast majority of folks being opposed to his votes on certain issues. These are average Americans who are really PO’d. I hope Mike gets the message the people are sending. No one is bigger than the will of the people.
