Crossroads

Standin’ at the Crossroads.
Everyone has a solution to my Party. Those at the switch for many years saw nothing wrong, yet here they are today, telling me what’s wrong with the party, and they crow that it’s not enough of them. When did T.O. come in (We need me a little more of me)?
Standin’ at the Crossroads.
As I dare to care to make change, here I am once again, being told that I am not far-right enough to belong. Do I continue to fight, as my instinct and innate being tell me to do, or do I step off and let the whole thing complete it’s impending implosion, as my logical reasoning is screaming to my brain?
Standin’ at the Crossroads.
I really do need a break. It’s politics, a mere game played chess-master wannabees that never seem to be able to find that final check-mate move (not the politicians, but the puppet masters and the puppets bound by the strings of loyalty). Keep attacking with your pawns, fellas, the ultimate stale-mate is fast approaching and the board will be annihilated.

Nice post, Smitty, but I’m afraid the people you’re talking to aren’t listening. Your party is in for a Civil War, and I’m not sure it will end with a united outcome. There simply isn’t a lot of room for compromise on the Far Right side of your party.
How do you reach an agreement on Constitutional matters with people who believe the Christian Bible is the ultimate law?
The crossroads is where you go to promise your soul to the devil in exchange for power.
Republicans went to the crossroads already – some in 1980, some in ’84, some in ’88, some in 2000. But they all went. And they received power.
You are at the crossroads now not to make your choice, but to deliver your end of the bargain.
Damn you, noman, for putting a different spin on this! You are correct, though. I can paint my point a different way, then: do I square off and fight the devil, or do I step aside and watch him devour others until there is nothing left? It’s an Easter Island lesson: once all of the resources (people) are consumed, then life (the Party) can no longer exist.
I have no solutions – but the video was a great reminder that I need to try and find the Cream reunion shows somewhere on disc. Thanks, brother.
The GOP is not at war with itself. It is at war with the voters. 30% of the conservative voters…not GOP voters…there are many working americans who consider themselves conservative but are registered as independents and Dems…30% voted for Barak Obama because the GOP bailed out the banks..turned its back on capitalism…embraced socialism…and offered no viable alternative to left liberal politics.
The Dems are green…lefty gop members claim to be green. Where does a thinking working man go who sees green policies stifling job growth and causing stagflation and now recession?
The GOP offers no alternative so why trust a politicain who is running just to get elected and will do exactly what the other candidate will do?
Really what were the fundamental differences between Dems running for State and County Offices and our GOP candidates….Ours looked better? Had better educations? Had better resumes?
