Christine on the Stump Pt. 2
Nov 20th, 2009 by David Anderson
President Obama has increased spending in every area but defense. He has weakened our national security and our sovereignty. Our nation is less safe because of this administration, declared Christine O’Donnell Wednesday night. She began her indictment of the ruling regime. She criticized the slashing of our missle defense program and the cutting of the F-22 which “is the finest aircraft of its type in the world”. Our President said to our troops at war to make do. We are overstretching our military and under resourcing them.
She said if she was favored(I missed the exact word) by the people to be their senator, she would always vote according to the constitution, never vote to raise taxes, fight to decrease the size of government, and limit her self to two terms. Too many of the people up on the hill have lost touch’ this is why we need unconventional candidates. We need to have people who will surround themselves by people who will hold them accountable.
It is time we address the central issue. Let’s start debating the real issue. Should America be a socialist country? We are becoming a socialist country, but the cement hasn’t dried. We are nationalizing the auto industry, the financial industry, the energy industry, and the health care industry. It discourages me at times that many Americans honestly come up to me and say so what is so bad about socialism. They are serious. We have to give them a serious answer. Socialism may sound ideal, but the fundamental flaw is that it reduces the individual to a clog in the wheel. The free market allows the individual to flourish.
The mammography controversy is a perfect preview of the socialism in store. The individual matters little. It is about saving a few dollars. Only one in 1900 women are saved by early mammograms. What is you are that one? What if that one is your mother, wife, or daughter is that one? The individual is an unimportat statistic to the planners.
Our free market economy is the best structure through which the individual can flourish. The cost of our socialism is clear. When I am driving, I see vacant store front after vacant store front. We need economic policies which favor small businesses instead of destroy them.
They say capitalism breeds greed. It doesn’t. It breeds freedom. I am not advocating unbridled capitalism. Our constitution allows certain checks.
My top three priorities are getting (1) the economy back on trick by fighting socialism, not raising taxes, and an energy policy which allows us to develop domestic sources of energy.
2. Standing up for national security and national sovereignty.
3. Restoring individual liberties.
She then took aim at what she believed to be unconstitutional policies.
Part three this weekend.

I want to thank Christine O’Donnell. She made great presentations two nights in a row to different gatherings of the 9-12 Delaware Patriots and she tackled some tough questions both nights. I look forward to hearing from other candidates for both state and federal offices. Christine O’Donnell has set the bar pretty high, but it is an example worth following.
There will be some great potential for debates this election as well. It is going to be exciting and informative.
Agreed, I think few people have the ability to reach her standard. She combines style and substance in a well polished combination that still comes across like the smart girl next door. She harkens us back to the day when listening to an office seeker was actually entertaining and informative. Too often it is just frustrating and demeaning. People want to give us a few sound bites and expect us to give them a blank check. She is unconventional in a refreshing way.
Christine O’Donnell believes in socialism, not for the common man, but for corporations.
After all we’ve been through regarding corruption and greed on Wall Street, it strains credibility to hear her say: “They say capitalism breeds greed. It doesn’t.”
If capitalism is not constrained by regulation, it goes wild with greed. That is the lesson we have learned, not Christine’s idolized, ideological version.
To be a credible candidate, she needs a touch more reality before she can be taken as a serious candidate, in my view.
You must have Christine mixed up with Carper, Castle and Biden who supported the bailouts, bankruptcy changes, and takeovers. Christine did not.
