Christine beats Chris: Castle loses Ground but still leads

The argument for Congressman Castle is that he is inevitable. Rasmussen has just changed Delaware from being safe to leaning GOP. Congressman Castle still looks safe, but he dropped below 50% for the first time against Tax hiker Chirs Coons who is still mired in the 30′s versus either Castle or O’Donnell who both go into 40′s. Mr. Castle is at 47% and Ms. O’Donnell is at 41%. The fact that Christine has a chance in the general may make the primary more competitive though he is still the front runner. Conservative voters may be more comfortable going with their heart. Time will tell.
O’Donnell for Senate issued a response to the poll as always candidate releases are the view solely of the candidate and not necessarily Delaware Politics.
The Following statement was released by Christine O’Donnell in response the Rasmussen Poll.
Wilmington, DE: Rasmussen just released a poll that shows I am leading in the General Election against Democrat Chris Coons … that’s right … LEADING in the November special election for the U.S. Senate seat once held by Joe Biden.
My opponents, both Castle and Coons, have political machines that have raised millions of dollars, and yet we’re still ahead in the poll!! Nothing can beat the good old fashioned sweat equity of Team Christine!
… And this totally debunks the myth that challenger candidates like me, true citizen politicians, can’t win in general elections.
So you know what this means, don’t you?
The Lords of the Backrooms are going to push back … and hard!! Their multi-million dollar political machines have not been able to stop the growing momentum behind O’Donnell for U.S. Senate.
So far nothing seems too below the belt for them. Flat out lies and attempted character assassinations are not off limits. The whole IRS debacle will seem like small potatoes. I’m not sure what they’ll try next, but you better believe something is coming. As a matter of fact, we heard they’ve been poking around the Senate Ethics Committee looking for something to twist out of context. Career politicians don’t take it lightly when their backroom deals are threatened by citizen activists.
It’s THUG POLITICS at its worst!
She can win in November, this poll proves it. This is the first poll she’s been factored in and she’s already ahead by 3. Delaware is ready for another conservative Senator.
This also proves that all the hit pieces and lies being spread by the Castle campaign is doing nothing to diminish her reputation among the voters. This Rassmussen Poll was done with ALL likely voters not just Republicans and she leads.
Meanwhile, Castle’s liberal voting record is catching up with him. He’s lost almost 10 points and I don’t think anyone has even STARTED the truth campaign on him.
Now I think you will see Conservatives who genuinely feared her ability to win in November more free to campaign against Congressman Castle. Now you will see a rushing tide in favor of the Conservative O’Donnell. Along the way that tide will also gather Republicans who “just want to win”. Left on the beach? The Delaware GOP elites who have absolutely trashed her.
Be prepared for the next Senator from Delaware to be Christine O’Donnell… *is prepared to catch TW should they faint*
