June 14th is the day we recognize the adoption of our glorious banner of liberty, it is Flag Day. It is also the Army Birthday. 242 years of armed Americans standing up against oppression. They were able to do so because they had their own weapons. On this hallowed day, the gun grabbers in the Delaware House of Representatives are holding a hearing on House Bill 222 which the NRA describes this way.
House Bill 222 would allow an individual’s family members or law enforcement to petition the court for an ex parte restraining order if they consider the individual to be a danger to themselves or others simply because the individual owns, possesses or purchases a firearm. Under this bill, an ex parte order would be issued by a judge based solely on a brief, unsubstantiated affidavit made by a petitioner and absent any input made by the individual on which the order is targeted. Hillary Clinton rejects the landmark Heller Decision, which protects the Second Amendment right to bear arms for individuals. She would be in position to replace the author of that decision. Removing this protection would allow debilitating regulations which would nullify the protections of the Second Amendment. Secretary Clinton does not care if the Amendment exists, she just does not want it enforceable and meaningful. The radical interpretations peddled by some would turn the Second Amendment on its head. The Amendment meant to protect the individual to have weapons and be able to organize themselves against forces of oppression, whether foreign or domestic, would be interpreted to protect the right of the government to organize military force. That logic is completely against the context of the bill of rights. The government already had that right in Article 1, Section 8.

Trump was right, if Clinton is so against guns, start with her bodyguards. He was not suggesting anyone attack her or even seriously suggesting that they do give up their weapons. The reaction from the Clinton campaign that such words are inciting violence proves that deep down they believe that guns in the hands of good people are positive. So they trust SOME people with guns, just not you.
Obama Administration Surges Forward With Plans To Infringe On American's Rights To Keep And Bear Arms
In a move that is certainly not a surprise to most Americans, The Obama Administration plans to ban the manufacture and sale of ammunition for one of America's favorite weapons, the AR-15 Semi-automatic rifle. Accusations from gun rights group members have stated that there have been thousands of letters sent to Congress asking that Obama's backdoor gun control not be approved.
Obama appears to be using his last two years in office to destroy the Second Amendment rights of Americans, which states:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
Plans are also in the works to restrict the armor piercing 5.56 millimeter "M855 green tip." The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Read more
Although HB-88 was defeated in the senate, Governor Markell and Attorney General Beau Biden are not going to let this stand, or so they think!
"I'm not giving up on this," said AG Biden in a recent statement. The last session of the General Assembly starts Sunday and the Democratic Caucus intends to re-introduce the bill and force passage at an eleventh hour vote. This bill is called the "Gun Grab" bill and is definitely unconstitutional. It would give the police and authorities broad power to declare nearly any person they don't like as, mentally incompetent or mentally ill, and enter their home and confiscate legally owned weapons.
A rally and vigil to oppose the passage of HB-88 is being held at Legislative Hall on Sunday, June 30, starting at 4pm and will last as long as it takes to deal the final death blow to this bill. This tyrannical bill would definitely violate our Second Read more
Yes, the "Good ol Boy System," (GOBS) is alive and well in Delaware's General Assembly. What has happened to the days when a person only served in a states general assembly as a citizen legislator instead of a career politician. The good ol days when a persons' word was his bond and a person could expect honesty from their "citizen legislators." Well my friends, those days are gone and won't return unless "we the people," make it happen.
The two-party system of Delaware, and all of America for that matter is a completely corrupt system to the core. That's why there are over 142,000 registered unaffiliated independents and so-called third parties that are growing in numbers daily. The Independent Party of Delaware has become the fastest growing party in Delaware, because of its acceptable platform and inclusion of people with many diverse political ideologies.

What are the right reasons for activism, one might ask themselves. In this rapidly changing and diverse nation of myriad political philosophies, activism takes many forms.
Although many political theories and opinions are prevalent in America, The Constitution and the Bill of Rights have stood the test of time, for the republic to grow and prosper. America has weathered several wars, and a civil rights revolution, and has remained united and free. Americans haven't agreed with one another on many issues but the Republic still stands and will remain standing, if each new generation of Americans does their part to respect the constitutional rights of others.
It is not necessary to agree with your neighbor, but one should be friendly and charitable and it is necessary to respect your neighbor's Constitutional rights. America has become a nation of bureaucracy and regulations, many Read more
Here is a look at Legislative Hall in Dover today. HB 75, about same sex marriage will be voted on in the House, and HB 35 about universal background checks will be voted on in the Senate. The citizens of Delaware are watching both votes very closely and it is certain that today will be critical in the next election.
UPDATE: Just for laughs these are the results of the Senate Vote on HB 35, and this is the vote on the motion to table the bill. Almost a mirror image.
President Obama’s decision to consider the UN Arms Trade Treaty has been heavily criticized by Republicans and Saturday, Sen. James Inhofe R-Okla, introduced an amendment that would prevent the US from entering into the UN Arms Trade Treaty in order to uphold the Second Amendment. The Amendment passed the Senate with a 53-46 vote.
Within hours of President Obama’s re-election, the UN was notified to re-start talks on the UN Arms Trade treaty that had stalled in July of 2012, because the White House feared attacks from the Romney Campaign, if his administration was seen as supporting the treaty, a charge that the White House has denied.
Colorado’s Weld County Sheriff John Cooke appeared on Foxnews, “The Mike Huckabee Show,” this evening stating that he would not enforce Colorado’s tough new gun laws. He stated that the new laws were, a knee-jerk reaction and the legislators knew the laws wouldn’t work but wanted to show the people they were doing something.
Other sources report, Cooke says the bills are “feel-good, knee-jerk” reactions to recent tragedies like the Aurora shooting. So he “won’t bother enforcing” them, he added, noting he and other sheriffs are considering a lawsuit.
“A nation can only be disgraced by the failure of its citizenry to take action in the face of tyranny.”
Donald Raleigh Ayotte, August 2010
Now we do have some pro gun-control goofballs showing up at hearings on those ridiculous and totally un-needed gun control bills now being bandied about, on command from the current White House regime no doubt.
The vast majority of this country does NOT want any more gun control, citizens are not clamoring for yet more gubmint laws to control our behavior and restrict our rights.
But they flip us the bird, this elected elite, and get busy exactly what we do NOT want them to do.
Let's have a look at those five gun control bills the misguided Markell wants to enact in Delaware.
-Background checks for gun sales between private parties.

DENVER | No sooner had Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper signed three gun-control bills into law Wednesday than the economic backlash began.
Officials at gun equipment manufacturer Magpul Industries confirmed that the company would make good on its vow to leave Colorado if the governor signed the bill to limit ammunition-magazine capacity. The Erie-based manufacturer confirmed on its Facebook page that it will start its transition “almost immediately.”
“We will likely become a multi-state operation as a result of this move, and not all locations have been selected,” said the company in a statement, adding that it expects to begin manufacturing its PMAG-brand magazines within 30 days of the bill-signing
Magpul may be the first firearms-related business to relocate as a result of state gun-control laws, but it probably won’t be the last. Companies in Connecticut, Maryland Read more
Cnsnews reports that a growing number of firearm and firearm-related companies have stated they will no longer sell items to states, counties, cities and municipalities that restrict their citizens' rights to own them.
According to "The Police Loophole," 34 companies have joined in publicly stating that governments who seek to restrict Second Amendment rights will themselves be restricted from purchasing the items they seek to limit or ban.
Extreme Firepower Inc., located in Inwood, WV has had a longstanding policy that states: "The Federal Government and several states have enacted gun control laws that restrict the public from owning and possessing certain types of firearms. If a product that we manufacture is not legal for a private citizen to own in a jurisdiction, we will not sell that product to a law-enforcement in that jurisdiction."

Before noon at Dover’s Modern Maturity Center, in the hall where the Second Amendment Freedom Rally met, it was filled to capacity and overflowing. People from all of Delaware and surrounding states, packed the place well before the meeting actually started at 1pm. The 9-12 Delaware patriot Organization set up at the door for sign-up with many items for sale, including a T-shirt with a hand-gun on a flag emblazoned with the slogan written in Greek that says “Come and Take it.” 1200 people were expected but the main hall was filled by 12:15pm and the overflow hall started to fill. I stopped counting at 1400 in attendance.
Legislators present included, Rep .John Atkins, Rep. Ruth Briggs King, Rep. Harvey Kenton, Rep. Bobby Outen, Rep. Danny Short, Rep. Jack Peterman, Rep Jeff Spiegelman, Rep. Dave Wilson, Rep Steve Smyk, Rep. Ramon and Sen. Dave Lawson.

Republican Senator, Ted Cruz said President Barack Obama is "exploiting the murder of children" to push an extreme anti-gun agenda that much of the country opposes. Cruz told Laura Ingraham on her radio show that Obama was "high on his own power," and that Democrats overall would pay a political price for the president's crackdown on citizens that have not broken laws and are only exercising their constitutional rights. "There have got to be some Democrats who are up for reelection in 2014 who are very very nervous right now that President Obama is picking this fight," Cruz said.
In the president's address to the nation, he used scripted testimony from letters of children he claims to have received, to gain sympathy for his execution of the executive orders he signed earlier this week, while a TV camera panned the children live for the nation. Later in the week the White House condemned Read more
The Second Amendment to the Constitution was written by James Madison, who became a member of the Philadelphia Constitutional Convention in 1787. It was presented to the House of Representatives in Congress on June 8th 1797, and ratified on December 15th 1791.
It was one of a total of 10 amendments drafted by Madison, who is often known as the father of the Bill of Rights, as well as being called the father of the Constitution, for his work on the Constitution with Alexander Hamilton and John Jay.
A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.
In 2008 and 2010, the Supreme Court issued two landmark decisions officially establishing this interpretation. In District of Columbia v. Heller, the court ruled that the Second Amendment protects an individual's right to possess a firearm, Read more
According to a Newsmax report, former U.S. Attorney General Edwin Meese III, declared in an exclusive Newsmax TV interview that President Obama could be impeached if he bypassed Congress and enacted gun-control legislation by executive order.
“It would not be legal. It would not be constitutional,” said Meese, “and indeed, if he tried to override the Second Amendment in any way, I believe it would be an impeachable offense.
Obama stated in a White House interview that he could regulate gun-control regulations by Executive order, without Congressional approval, to confront gun violence in America.
President Obama said on Monday that he hasn’t ruled out executive action to make new regulations against guns. “I’m confident that there are some steps we could take that don’t require legislation, that are within my power,” Obama said at a White House press conference.
Obama added that he would he would be receiving recommendations on possible steps to reduce gun violence from Vice President Joe Biden’s task force today, and that he would make those public later this week. He said that stronger background checks and control of high-capacity magazine clips and a ban on assault weapons were proposals that he believed made sense.

One of the first assaults on the constitution, seemingly enough came during the presidency of John Adams, the Second President of the United States. John Adams was a Federalist and was also considered a monarchist. He along with Alexander Hamilton, who served on his cabinet believed that Great Britain had a much better form of government than the newly formed American Republic. Thomas Jefferson, his Vice President was, on the other hand, a Republican and a staunch constitutionalist. Two opposing ideologies probably wouldn't occur in today's politics, the president and the vice president are from the same party but in Jefferson's era of the late 1700's and early 1800's, when two men ran for the presidency, the one with the most votes became president and the one that came in second became Vice President. The race between Adams and Jefferson was a close one and Jefferson became Vice President.

The Maryland Senate passed Senate Bill 411, which is a 411 to criminals that says, for your information, Maryland will no longer allow you to use the civil law suit to persecute people who defend themselves against you. The bill allows anyone attacked in their home to stand their ground and use force to do so without concern of civil liability. This aligns the civil law up with the criminal law’s Castle doctrine.
For the sake of your family, your friends, and yourself, call your Delegate and get them to pass Senate Bill 411. Are you fine folks in Delaware watching?
A crowd of 450 + trekked up to Dover for a candidates' forum sponsored by the Delaware Sportemen Association and the National Rifle Association. The Modern Maturity Center in Dover was packed despite the 20 degree temperatures and NFL playoff games on the tube. Over 20 candidates for statewide and local offices showed up to give their views on the 2nd amendment and the attempts by local jurisdictions to deprive individuals citizens of those rights.
State Senator and State Treasurer candidate Colin Bonini actually spoke on the need for controlling spending and was well received. His enthusiasm was infectious and notable.

Liberals are always trying to remove the ability of individual citizens from defending themselves. In the Liberal mind leaving self defense up to armed citizens is dangerous. The liberal mind set wants a disarmed citizenry reliant and dependent on the state.
Years ago, the United Kingdom disarmed their citizendry of firearms and of course this is one of the models liberals want. Liberals want that model and of course the model of the greatest gun control experiment in the United States, Washington D.C., which of course is a real success for disarming our citizenry.
Many 2nd amendment advocates such as myself have argued that the liberal inclination to rob everyone of their freedoms will not end with guns. In the end the Liberals want complete dependence by the citizenry on its government and here is People's exhibit #1.

21 Delaware Lawmakers signed on to an Amicus Brief supporting the NRA's position to incorporate the 2nd amendment right to keep and bear arms into the 14thAmendment's liberty clause which would apply it to the states. I am so delighted with these 21 heros that I am breaking my self imposed break from writing posts this week (everything that you saw me write except the interview was from this weekend--I hated that I had beat CNBC to the punch on U-6 but don't get credit). Unfortunately, we are 0 for 3 with our star congressional delegation.
Personally, I believe that the fact the second amendment does not limit itself to Congress or the federal government makes incorporation a moot argument. If Congress is responsible for insuring a militia exists, why would the states be allowed to take away their ability to be armed? The second amendment by its nature applies to the states and federal Read more
