Castle V. Coons
Jan 28th, 2010 by David Anderson
The early polling looks positive for Congressman Castle if he faces Council President Chris Coons in a November face off. (For out of staters, Castle (R) is our at large Congressman and Coons (D) is county council president of the county which has around 60% of the state’s population.) Rasmussen Reports Castle 56% v. Coons 27%

Any lead that Mr. Castle has is due more to name recognition , then any approval of his past performance.
Mr. Coons past performance is one of higher taxes and a refusal to restructure the County Government.
The County has a long term structural debt of $20-25 million. almost 10% of the budget.
The only reason he is the Dem choice is he won’t have to give up his seat to lose.

In a 2-man race, Castle can’t lose in Delaware. Period.
Mr. Protack needs to better educate himself on the county’s finances and limited revenue sources if he hopes to run for council.
Anon, that may or may not be true, but Mr. Protack seems more educated than you already.
