CASTLE BIT BY HYPOCRISY AS RECORDS SHOW 67% OF CONTRIBUTIONS COME FROM OUTSIDE DELAWARE

RUT ROH: Mike Castle Caught in Out-Of-State Fundraising Controversy

* CASTLE BIT BY HYPOCRISY AS RECORDS SHOW 67% OF CONTRIBUTIONS COME FROM OUTSIDE DELAWARE

* BAILOUT-BACKED INDUSTRIES AMONG CASTLE’S BIGGEST DONORS

(WILMINGTON) — FEC Records reveal that in the 2009-2010 calendar year, 67% of Congressman Mike Castle’s campaign contributions have come from outside Delaware.

The revelation comes following attacks by Castle’s campaign against Conservative Republican challenger, Christine O’Donnell, who they have accused of not receiving enough support from Delaware.

“It turns out Mike Castle is not only a hypocrite, but he is bought and paid for by the corrupted special interests who pushed for the government bailouts of private industry sectors,” said Levi Russell, Communications Director for the Tea Party Express.

OpenSecrets.org and FollowTheMoney.org report that Castle’s top contributors come from: Finance, Insurance, Real Estate, Lawyers & Lobbyists.

“Mike Castle serves the agenda of the lobbyists of Gucci Gulch, and not the interests of Delaware Republicans. If you want a politician who doles out political favors in exchange for financial backing then Mike Castle is clearly your guy. But if you want someone who is going to Washington to fight for the conservative principles she holds dear, then you can’t do any better than Christine O’Donnell for Senate,” said Amy Kremer, Chairman of the Tea Party Express.

now there’s the pot calling the kettle black…

how much of O’donnell’s money came from special interests outside the state?

aaahhmmm – 250k from the tea party express – based in California – I suppose mr levi russell would know that

    and one wonders about hypocracy??

    Levi

Thanks for telling it like it is. The Castle powerwagon has had everybody duped for too long in Delaware. It is good to have a fresh voice around here.
Glad to have The Tea Party Express in support of Christine O’Donnell

Did the person who wrote that presser actually use the phrase “rut roh?” Talk about amateur.

  4. on 05 Sep 2010 at 12:424kenny J.

O’Nutty got 95% from out of state and 5% from in state, so anything Castle gets over 6% from inside the state makes him NOT a hypocrite.

Why didn’t I get this press release in a Jud Bennett spam email?

Why does it matter where the money comes from? In or out of state? Im not voting for either one, but why does it matter? I dont understand.

  8. on 05 Sep 2010 at 16:558Pat Fish

Just once I’d like to see a Castle supporter, I dunno, maybe get a little circumspect and maybe post something like…

“You know, the Tea Party Express makes a good point and perhaps the Mike Castle campaign shouldna went there.”

Heck, after this I’d even allow a slam…like “there’s plenty of other stuff to hit O’Donnell with” or some such.

But NEVER do they acknowledge their candidate might…you know, did something a little unfair, a little left field.

Instead they complain about nonsense like RUT ROH.

How damn low will a Castle supporter go?

And for the record, whoever asked upthread about what difference where the money comes from…I agree with you. Elections today are essentially national. You really think the Harry Reid election is a local matter?

I mean, let’s stop fooling ourselves and remove this NON-issue from the public debate.

And I mean that for BOTH the O’Donnell and Castle campaigns because….well I try to be a fair person most of the time.

Castle is a member of the country club set. He doesn’t mingle with the ‘little people’ (except when he makes a phony coffee shop commercial).

    “Squeak”

now there’s the pot calling the kettle black…

It’s a free shot; Castle isn’t going to return fire on this topic. Castle wouldn’t get much mileage by saying “Yes, but Christine does it too. ”

Also, you forget the kettle doesn’t want to give any free publicity to the pot.

CASTLE: “My opponent’s contributions also come from out of state…”

VOTERS: “You have an opponent? Hmmmm… “

  11. on 06 Sep 2010 at 08:1011David Anderson

How did you miss it? It is not Christine’s side taking a free shot on this one. Castle’s team started it by saying Christine got most of her money from out of state which is true of the large contributions. They ignored the huge number of small contributions which came mostly from working people in state who gave 10 or 20 bucks. They only looked at the $200 and above contributions, which is fine. The problem is how is taking out of state contributions by Christine a sign that she doesn’t have support in Delaware, but taking contributions from out of state by Mr. Castle means nothing but that he has the respect of people all over America.

That is the point. Like Pat, I say admit they got you on this side issue and go back to the real issues.
